I'm on Propecia too and my libido is not great, either. I'm able to have good erections but my sexual appetite is gone and sex doesn't feel as good as before. I really can't say if this is a result of ageing (I'm 32 y.o.) or finasteride.
By the way, my total testosterone levels are similar to yours. I wouldn't try any kind of hormonal treatment, though: results are usually disappointing.
I have been taking Propecia since 2.5 years at variable doses(0.25 first 6months, 0.5 mg for one year and 1 mg for 1 year till today), In october 2016 my derm put me on accutane 10 mg and minoxiline(100mg) for treating my mild acne, I had been drinking heavily for 5 days before starting my accutane course, 10 days into the course, I started to have Gyno(Unilateral, right breast with a movable tender lump), I dropped accutane and minoxiline and also propecia after 23 days.
About three months ago I started taking propecia because I thought my hair was falling out too young. I experienced several side effects from the drug including total loss of sex drive, difficulty maintaining erections, loss of spontaneous erections/morning erections. I stopped taking propecia within 3 weeks due to an inability to deal with these side effects. Things seemed to be slowly getting slightly better as the weeks and months progressed however now some new issues have been arising.
It has been a month now but my Gyno hasnt reduced, I restarted propecia as I was starting to lose hair. Also I am witnessing libido problems (I can masturbate twice a day but my erections are not fuller and penis looks like it has shrunk), The place I live is also very cold with temp at night being -2 C(Can it also been an effect?) I am thinking about starting Tamoxifene for my Gyno, so need your advice and suggestions. I am student and dont have much money.
I am 25 year old guy.. I have hair loss. so the doctor prescribed me for propecia which i consumed last 50 days. for the first 30 days, i consumed one tablet per day and the last 20 days i consumed 2 tablets/day. I was also taking anti convolution tablet for a different reason from a different doctor for 10 days.
Now i am having erectile dysfunction. So i stopped taking the pills now. Can anybody please tell me how many days it will take usually for reversing this condition?
I used Proscar (Propecia) years ago and definitely felt it killed my libido. It does dramatically lower DHT, a sex hormone *supposedly* only needed during your growing years - but nobody has ever explained how a crucial sex hormone just suddenly becomes unimportant when you turn 18. Try generic minoxidil to keep your hair instead. No point in having decent hair if it kills your libido.
Hello. So here is my story. I took propecia for a total of 3 weeks to 1 month. I was nervous to take it and after my first dose I masterbated a few hours later. Erections seemed ok and semen was not bad. However, over the coming days I noticed a severe drop in libido. Morning wood dissapeared. It took a lot more to get a boner and boners were softer and not as strong. They took a lot more effort to keep up and went away quicker. Semen was watery and penis didn't feel as good or sensitive.
It blocks the conversion of dht and can inturn lower testosterone levels. if u read up on propecia, the hair loss treatment.
2 years ago something I began experiencing changes that included a loss of libido, virtually no ejaculate during orgasm, and erectile dysfunction that coincided with the taking of propecia. I only took 10 days worth of the medication and stopped after that because I couldn't deal with the side effects. These side effects did not go away though.
Then, one and a half years ago I began waking up to really painful erections in the night.

m on propecia...however, my doctor (being pretty cool), prescribed me 5mg Finasteride (i.e. Propecia). I split the pills in half, which is pretty close to the dosage for Propecia. The bottle lasts me two months, and costs me $5 because finasteride is covered on my insurance. I'm 28 years old, soooo....the insurance company DID need my doctor to verify the prescription. But like I said, he is cool :) See if your doc will hook you up the same!
Propecia would not cause such side effects I can assure you. Sex drive, libido, and erection issues are possibilities with longterm use of that drug. Not sores. Eliminate this as a possible correlation.
Fleet has provided the best advice. Id follow his instructions and seek a swab and blood test immediately. What you describe sounds like a herpes infection without a doubt. Multiple grouped blisters and swollen nodes are clear indicators.

I attribute my erection problems to the Propecia tablet that I take daily. As you know, Propecia is 1 mg. of finasteride. Propecia has been shown to cause side effects such as erectile problems in a small minority of users. Unfortunately, I appear to be in that small minority. Once my erection problems surfaced, I began looking for a solution. I do not want to stop taking Propecia because it has done wonders for my hair.
5mg every other day for my hair. Could this be the cause? He insisted that it was NOT the Finasteride (propecia). In addition, I asked if it could be low testosterone and he claimed that it was not the issue in this case. I'm an avid bodybuilder whom exercises 5-6 days a week.
Hello I have been using Rogaine and Propecia 1mg a day for the last 6 years , my alts and so on have always been high around 150 , my gastro doctor 6 years ago it is fine to be using it , now I have stage 11 Fibrosis and will
start treatment probably in the next year or so I wil try and wait for telaprevir .
Is it safe to use rogaine & propecia while on treatment ?
As info, more than likely your is going to fall out with or without Propecia. I don't know how Propecia will effect the treatment drugs but some hair loss will be unavoidable.
My mindset during treatment was the less drugs I had to take, the better off I was because the treatment drugs are very powerful and I didn't want my body to have to metabolize any more drugs than absolutely necessary.
