Common Questions and Answers about Propecia for pcos

propecia

Avatar f tn Both Alesse and Yasmin are good for PCOS. I have been prescribed both by different PCOS specialists. I've been told that Yasmin (in combination with aldactone and propecia) is particularly good for combatting hair loss. Depending on your symptoms, you should go with the one that makes you feel best.
Avatar n tn ve been off propecia now for about 6 months and everything is back to normal... I think if I would have taken propecia any longer it might have done some real damage..
Avatar n tn Help. My wife accidentally took propecia (3 mgs over 2 days) thinking it was something else. We are planning on having kids soon. Can there be consequences to a future pregnancy from this mistake? How long will the propecia stay in her body?
Avatar n tn s assistant pretty much ruled out telogen effluvium, told me it was androgentic alopecia, and wrote me a prescription for Propecia. I almost wish I had not went to this appointment as I now have to decide between what this PA concluded and what seems like common sense. Does this seem like a correct diagnosis or should I get a second opinion?
Avatar m tn I do not want to stop taking Propecia because it has done wonders for my hair. Propecia has halted my hair loss and has re-grown considerable amount of hair. Thus, I need to address my erection problems while still being able to take Propecia. I read that L-Arginine could help with my erectile problems and that it works similar to Viagra. Thus, I began taking L-Arginine, 1500 mg. twice a day. It has helped but it has not solved the problem.
Avatar n tn About three months ago I started taking propecia because I thought my hair was falling out too young. I experienced several side effects from the drug including total loss of sex drive, difficulty maintaining erections, loss of spontaneous erections/morning erections. I stopped taking propecia within 3 weeks due to an inability to deal with these side effects. Things seemed to be slowly getting slightly better as the weeks and months progressed however now some new issues have been arising.
Avatar m tn 25 first 6months, 0.5 mg for one year and 1 mg for 1 year till today), In october 2016 my derm put me on accutane 10 mg and minoxiline(100mg) for treating my mild acne, I had been drinking heavily for 5 days before starting my accutane course, 10 days into the course, I started to have Gyno(Unilateral, right breast with a movable tender lump), I dropped accutane and minoxiline and also propecia after 23 days.
Avatar f tn There is really no pain upon ejaculation, only the feeling of a slight buildup due to the thickness of the semen. I have been to a urologist for this and upon a semen analysis, everything came back normal. I do take Finasteride 0.5mg every other day for my hair. Could this be the cause? He insisted that it was NOT the Finasteride (propecia). In addition, I asked if it could be low testosterone and he claimed that it was not the issue in this case.

Avatar n tn s response to the sex hormones estrogen and testosterone, but no specific effect has been well demonstrated in humans. It would be best to discuss this with your doctor for proper evaluation and for alternative supplements. Avatar n tn Greetings SFX, Hysterectomy is not standard treatment for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). PCOS is a disorder that stems from the ovaries. Removing your uterus will not cure PCOS. First line treatment for PCOS often includes combined hormone therapy a.k.a "birth control pills" , weight loss, evaluation for endocrine disorders such as diabetes and in the event of hirsutism (male hair pattern) spironolactone. Removal of the ovaries in the reproductive age women is associated.
Avatar n tn Hi , I'm 28 years old and I've been experiencing low libido and trouble staying hard. Sex doesn't feel as good either and I don't really want to have sex that much anymore which is tough for relationships. I also have brain fog, low energy, and a sort of lifeless feeling… I've seen many doctors, but haven't found one who understand hormones that's why I'm posting here...
Avatar m tn I went to a dermatologist and she put me on propecia for the hair loss. I also took a blood test and said my iron was low. But other then that I my blood was normal. Is it possible they ran certain tests on my blood and not others which maybe why I am misdiagnosed. I have a follow up in late july. I didnt have this burning sensation before i went to see my doc. And my burning scalp is not a symptom of propecia. Any ideas to what this could be? A disease?
