Propecia for facial hair

Common Questions and Answers about Propecia for facial hair

propecia

Avatar n tn Since telogen effluvium is reversible and self-limiting, I think you should hold off on the Propecia for 3 months and see what happens. If the hair is falling out a lot less, then I would continue to wait for the hair to re-grow from its telogen loss. You don't really have anything to lose--male-pattern hair loss wouldn't leave you substantially balder in 3 months anyway, and you can always reconsider the use of Propecia then. Take care. Dr.
Avatar m tn I do not want to stop taking Propecia because it has done wonders for my hair. Propecia has halted my hair loss and has re-grown considerable amount of hair. Thus, I need to address my erection problems while still being able to take Propecia. I read that L-Arginine could help with my erectile problems and that it works similar to Viagra. Thus, I began taking L-Arginine, 1500 mg. twice a day. It has helped but it has not solved the problem.
Avatar n tn I took him to dermetologist, he priscribed Propecia for him. He said it has sexual side effect and goes away when yo sop taking the drug. He has lots of hair now and he does not lose any more hair. However, news is floting around saying that the sexual side effect comes from propecia is sometime not reversible. Asyesterday,he stopped his medicine. I am really worried if it has done any damage to him or not.
Avatar n tn I know going bald is hereditary, but the fact is that it starts when -the body is producing to much testosterone that is being converted into DHT -Or some other type of imbalance is causing excess DHT DHT causes hair loss I am in the exact same boat as you guys except no propecia for my hair loss I also have gynecomastia and I am awaiting my hormone test to see if there is an underlying cause.
Avatar m tn Hello. So here is my story. I took propecia for a total of 3 weeks to 1 month. I was nervous to take it and after my first dose I masterbated a few hours later. Erections seemed ok and semen was not bad. However, over the coming days I noticed a severe drop in libido. Morning wood dissapeared. It took a lot more to get a boner and boners were softer and not as strong. They took a lot more effort to keep up and went away quicker. Semen was watery and penis didn't feel as good or sensitive.
Avatar m tn It has been a month now but my Gyno hasnt reduced, I restarted propecia as I was starting to lose hair. Also I am witnessing libido problems (I can masturbate twice a day but my erections are not fuller and penis looks like it has shrunk), The place I live is also very cold with temp at night being -2 C(Can it also been an effect?) I am thinking about starting Tamoxifene for my Gyno, so need your advice and suggestions. I am student and dont have much money.
Avatar m tn I went to a dermatologist and she put me on propecia for the hair loss. I also took a blood test and said my iron was low. But other then that I my blood was normal. Is it possible they ran certain tests on my blood and not others which maybe why I am misdiagnosed. I have a follow up in late july. I didnt have this burning sensation before i went to see my doc. And my burning scalp is not a symptom of propecia. Any ideas to what this could be? A disease?
5708852 tn?1372804931 Hi everyone! Ok so sorry if I go in to depth in my question and sound a little rude! So i'm only 19 but I'm struggling here! I've been loosing my hair due to male pattern baldness a bit and I have recently started a tablet called Propecia which i'm sure some of you know have libido side effects.
Avatar n tn About three months ago I started taking propecia because I thought my hair was falling out too young. I experienced several side effects from the drug including total loss of sex drive, difficulty maintaining erections, loss of spontaneous erections/morning erections. I stopped taking propecia within 3 weeks due to an inability to deal with these side effects. Things seemed to be slowly getting slightly better as the weeks and months progressed however now some new issues have been arising.

Avatar n tn So, I went back on BC and the hair stopped falling out. And I have been for the last 3 years, but I am thinking future and I would like to have kids eventually and well I know this isn't very likely while im on BC, but at the same time I don't want a repeat of the hair thing, so my question is; are there any known medications out there that could act as an alternative to birth control when used to treat hair loss? And I am not referring to rogaine or propecia or anything like that.
Avatar f tn 5mg every other day for my hair. Could this be the cause? He insisted that it was NOT the Finasteride (propecia). In addition, I asked if it could be low testosterone and he claimed that it was not the issue in this case. I'm an avid bodybuilder whom exercises 5-6 days a week.

Avatar n tn I would suggest you to consult a dermatologist for this as it is important to rule out all the causes of hair loss and reach a confirmatoty diagnosis.Treatment is specific for that diagnosis.Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Warm regards.
