Age of 24, take propecia. My sexual desire dropped, no morning erections, and my ejaculate volume noticeably decreased. After a month, and a horrible sexual experience, I through out my propecia. Now 30, don’t get morning erections. Rarely wake up and find my penis a bit enlarged....but this is a rare event. My sexual desire has greatly diminished, and if it was a 10 before propecia, I would say it’s now a 5.

Erectile dysfunction can develop in young adults due to a variety of causes. Psychological stress, performance anxiety, depression, neurogenic disorders peyronie's disease, body image issues, medications, alcohol, smoking, drugs/medications, hormonal imbalance, radiation therapy, kidney failure, metabolic disorders, multiple sclerosis, hypertension, diabetes, prostatitis, urethritis etc. just to name a few.
I do take rogaine and propecia for pattern baldness but I was on propecia for a year and a half before getting the erectile dysfunction and retrograde ejaculation symptoms. I am kind of worried it could be autonomic neuropathy as I do have some auto immune diseases such as propecia and alopecia areata, I believe I have rheumatoid arthritis and sjogrens syndrome but got negative rheumatoid factor and ana tests, however a positive schirmer test and pain in my joints.
I do not want to stop taking Propecia because it has done wonders for my hair. Propecia has halted my hair loss and has re-grown considerable amount of hair. Thus, I need to address my erection problems while still being able to take Propecia. I read that L-Arginine could help with my erectile problems and that it works similar to Viagra. Thus, I began taking L-Arginine, 1500 mg. twice a day. It has helped but it has not solved the problem.

Moving to another job three months ago was a positive move especially if it eliminates the stresses of the old work life. Sexual activities with a partner are more interesting than porn and masturbation if you have someone in this regard. If so, stay away from porn and masturbation, entering into all sexual activities with this partner. Sometimes one can get into a predictable pattern doing the same things. Due to everyday life, you may have temporary low libido.

I took him to dermetologist, he priscribed Propecia for him. He said it has sexual side effect and goes away when yo sop taking the drug. He has lots of hair now and he does not lose any more hair. However, news is floting around saying that the sexual side effect comes from propecia is sometime not reversible. Asyesterday,he stopped his medicine. Have you any previous infections or prior surgeries or instrumentation of the genitalia?
Any recent pain or problems with urination?
I plan at this point to wait and see if his sexual function does return and when it does, to point out (ever so subtely) that maybe the problem was related to Effexor rather than his age and it might help him focus on the benefits of being off Effexor while experiencing withdrawal.
Again, thanks for letting me know Effexor related sexual dysfunction is not permanent. I will let you all know how it goes.
Hello I have been using Rogaine and Propecia 1mg a day for the last 6 years , my alts and so on have always been high around 150 , my gastro doctor 6 years ago it is fine to be using it , now I have stage 11 Fibrosis and will
start treatment probably in the next year or so I wil try and wait for telaprevir .
Is it safe to use rogaine & propecia while on treatment ?
