I went through an ovulation induction cycle and was put on prometrium (progesterone) to support a healthy lining. I am now 20 days past ovulation, no period, and three negative home pregnancy tests (it is now day 33 of my cycle and I am typically a 28 day cycle, like clockwork). I talked to the doctor today who told me to stop the prometrium and I should expect my period in 2-3 days.
I'm at least 10 days late and that's really rare for me. I've been hoping that it's because i'm pregnant and i've been super excited about it but just this morning i took a hpt and it was negative. I've been crying all day and i can't seem to get myself together. I can't think of any other reason that my period wouldn't have come by now. How early can a blood test detect pregnancy? should i make a doctors appt? or should i wait a while longer?

My progesterone dropped during my 4th week of pregnancy and the doctor prescribed prometrium. I am currently experiencing brief but horrible cramping accompanied with some minor bleeding. I've read the prescription information pamphlet over and over, and that is apparently a side effect. But with my history...I just need to know if anyone else experienced the same while taking Prometrium but still was able to have a healthy baby.
Anyway the pg test came back as a positive but today took another different kind of test and it was negative I was wondering although I know it was dumb thing to take the tests in the first place and I am probably causing bad karma has anyone had a similar thing happen and did the blood test turn out positve I am having so much trouble waiting and am only feeling nauseau in the morning but we all know that could be do to the prometrium etc.. Just curious.
my first test was + and every test after that has been negative. the first test i took was one step pregnancy test. the next one was an ept taken by a nurse, the last two were the same test i took the first time, they all showed up -, when do hcg levels start showing up dark? on these test? the + i got was very faint. i still believe i might be pregnant any suggestions?
My ob/gyn has put me on Prometrium to help regulate my menstrual cycle. My husband and I are trying to concieve our second child. With my first child I was put on prometrium for the first trimester due to low progesterone levels. This month I thought there was a chance I was pregnant and he told me instead of taking it days 16-25 I should remain on it until I know for sure if I am pregnant. I still have not gotten my period, and I am 3 days late.

By all means, if you have been having unprotected sex and expected a period to come, go ahead and take a pregnancy test. Two weeks after you think you ovulated, most pregnancy tests are accurate.
But it can take a while for prometrium to work to bring on a period (especially the first time you use it), so that might be what is happening.
If you're trying to get pregnant, I hope that is the reason your period didn't come when expected after stopping the prometrium.
I booked an appointment with my GP for next Thursday and I am going to ask for an early scan. Has anyone else had this before i.e. false negative test or false positive test? Could it had been that the receptionist used stale urine? Could I have a chemical pregnancy or I had a miscarriage? I am so confused as I have all the signs and symptoms and have missed my periods for two months now.
hi , last year i had all the symptons for being pregnant even the sickness , sore boobs, tiredness, mood swings the lot even a big belly lol i never even had a period for a few month, i took 3 home test within 2 month and they all came back possitive so i went and seen my gp and he took my blood and i had to hand a pregnancy test in with him and when all test came back i wasnt pregnant , it was a bit dissipointing with me having all the signs but the doc says it was a phantom pregnancy , and now
So I took a pregnancy test by Clearblue(the week estimator) and it said negative. So to double check because I thought the test was wrong I took another of the same test a couple days later. It keeps switching from not pregnant to pregnant (it's an electronic test) so I have absolutely nooo clue what the answer is. It has me and my boyfriend stressed out. Please help.
got period june 13 2011 and started 31 days later then the month of may. now im am supposed to start july 7th and now 3 days late took and pregnancy test and its false.. i knew the day i found out with my son. what is wrong. no stress or anything.. feeling crampy, sometimes im tired even though i get enough sleep, my back hurts, i get bouts of dizzness.
