Prograf mg

Common Questions and Answers about Prograf mg

prograf

Avatar m tn My current dose is Prograf 3 mg AM/ Prograf 3 mg PM and Rapamune 4 mg AM. The intent is to convert me to 100% Rapamune because of the nephro-toxicity of the Prograf and my young age and because of the anti-cancer properties of Rapamune. Data, while horribly limited, has shown Rapamune's anti-cancer properties have had success against vascular tumors such as mine so EHE, in this case chronic, is part of the cancers Rapamune affects (some cancers it has no effect).
Avatar f tn For instance, if he had diarrhea the evening before his labs that could account for the lower Prograf level. I think 2 mg Prograf per day at 6 months out is a really nice dose and his Prograf blood level of 6.5 is definitely within range.
Avatar f tn I went into rejection twice in the hospital and because of this my transplant team saw it best to put me on 5mg of prograf twice a day as well as 4 mg of rapimune, which by the way was off label and i had to sign a release form for. Just within the past 2 months they lowerd my dosage of rapimune to 2mg but kept the prograf the same. My question to you is exactly how suppressed is my immune system?
Avatar n tn I am on 750 mg Cellcept 2x a day, 1 mg Prograf 2x a day & 2.5 mg prednisone once a day for my kidney, which has been mine for going-on 33 years. I have been fine but pondering whether I am on too much at this stage. Or maybe this ( and compliance) is the reason that I have been able to keep my kidney for so long??!!
Avatar m tn t understand the relationship between treatment and Prograf dose. It sounds logical to think that the higher the Prograf dose the less likely TX will be successful and, at the extreme, I think that's probably true. But, whether 3 mg per day or 6 mg Prograf per day makes any difference is a question I cannot answer. When I treated there was a reluctance to dose the way a non-transplant patient would have been dosed and that can be and, in my case, was problematic.
Avatar f tn Doctor reduced her CellCept to 500 mg (from 1000mg) and increased PanGraaf to 5 mg (from 4mg) and Wysolone (steroid) to 12.5mg (from 15 mg). One week later she had the tests done again. The test result shows that her TLC has not moved an inch and is still at 2.8. My father is like panicked (he has always been a bit nervous personality anyway). The doctor - does he suspect virus infection, I am not sure - prescribed a blood test, result of which comes out after a week or so.
Avatar f tn Prograf is toxic and in the long run it can cause kidney failure. Right after my transplant, I was put on 10 mg. Prograf daily. Gradually, the doctor lowered it to 5, then 4, and so on. Last month, the doctor lowered it to 1.5 mg. daily. That is low and I had to give blood one month after the dosage was lowered so the doctor could see if it was too low. I'm happy now with 1.5 mg. In a few months, I will again as the doctor to lower it.
686869 tn?1227199935 If you could reduce your Prograf dose your kidney function might improve some. I don't know anything about you but at 4 years out your anti-rejection regimen seems rather aggressive. As I understand you you're taking 4 mg Prograf a day and 1000 mg Cellcept. I am 8 years out and I'm taking 2 mg Prograf in the am and 1 mg in the pm.
1135761 tn?1260557094 my doctors have reduced my cellcept in half. 1000 mg 2x day to 500 mg 2x day. they said my symptoms are common and reducing the cellcept should help. any comment?
Avatar f tn I'm geno type 3. I've heard Prograf is harder on the kidneys than sirolimus which is why they switched me from cyclosporine to sirolimus. That's probably why they haven't suggested switching me to Prograf in fact this is the first time I'm hearing about Prograf or Tacrolimus (it's other name as I found on the web). Thanks for your response and congrats on your great report since week 4 !
29837 tn?1414534648 ve lowered my Prograf (anti-rejection medicine) to 2 mg. daily. This was because I insisted in trying to go from 3 mg. to 2 mg. Reason? In the long run, this medicine can cause kidney failure because it is toxic. I know some of you may be heading for a transplant if Harvoni did not cure you, but I can tell you it's a life changing experience with a few bumps, but once you go over them, it's a nice smooth road and a big smile on your face...
Avatar n tn If i lower my prograf lower than 6.5 through rate i start getting discomfort right side .i am having cognitive issues on prograf that are getting very hard to live with, seems like it got alot worse after my last of three mri with contrast in two years. was hospitalized two days after last contrast exsposure white blood count went to1000, headach, fever urine got exstremly foamy, severe itching ,tighting and rashd eveloped on lower legs two weeks after.
1360689 tn?1277707383 I am post liver transplant patient since 1997 taking 0.5mg prograf 1.
Avatar m tn I take Prograf for the liver transplant and I know Naragenin affects the Prograf levels. My question is if during treatment I also took Naragenin and my prograf levels were closely watched and adjusted for the Naragenin effects, wouldn't I have a better chance of clearing the virus.
Avatar n tn I believe that diarrhea can cause an elevation in Prograf level. Taking Prograf with food can decrease absorption and result in a lower Prograf level. This is even more pronounced if you take it with fatty food. If Prograf doesn't upset your stomach it is best taken about 1 hour before eating - on an empty stomach. The range on my labs sheet is 4 - 16 so you are well within range.
Avatar f tn Pentamidine (aerosol) 1x monthly, Prograf 2mg 2x daily, metroprolol tartarate 12.5mg 2x daily, magnesium oxide 400mg 2x daily, oscal, multi vitamin, vitamin d3 1000iu 1x daily. Thanks.
Avatar f tn This has now got much worse-just walking a few steps or climbing the stairs makes it worse.I am taking 6 mg of prograf daily (3mg in the morning and 3mg in the evening) and 1000mg of microphenolate per day together with 5mg of prednisolone.Do you think my problem is caused by these drugs,or do you think there is more to it?In every other aspect i am fine-my blood results are excellent and my liver function tests are normal.
Avatar f tn Now, Dr is adding Nifedipine 30mg 1x daily to try and lower blood pressure. Is it okay to take Atenolol 25 mg 1x daily, Lorsartan 100mg and the Nifedpine 30mgs? Isnt that a lot of "different types" of medications especially being recently (less than 1 year) post transplant? Is this safe? I do however need to have the high blood pressure addressed. Advice/help. Thank you in advance.
1691407 tn?1332712547 The start of Incivek turned out not to be so scary. They cut back on his dose of 1 mg twice a day to 1 mg twice a week, then after second dose in a week, cut it back to just 1 mg once a week. So far, his levels have been ok. He has had toxic levels of Prograf in the past, and it is VERY scary!! So for me, this was one of the scariest parts of this treatment. Thanks for all the notes and remembering us from our friends here on MH.
Avatar n tn It is still considered off-label use but my doctor knew I would would follow his directions so I was his first patient to try it. First I had to get off Prograf because the interaction makes the Prograf 70x more potent. I was switched to cyclosporine and Myfortic. When the Incivek was started my cyclosporine was dropped to 25 mg once per day due to their interaction.
1644856 tn?1301038801 Will it come because of the fk prograf? I also fight diabetes, which I never had before the transplant. Now I feel like some junkie on pain killers. What do you think of all this? I`am worried about the future.
29837 tn?1414534648 05mg daily of Prograf. Has anyone who had a liver transplant gotten off the Prograf completely? Inquiring minds want to know.
