Common Questions and Answers about Prograf in india

prograf

Avatar f tn I think 2 mg Prograf per day at 6 months out is a really nice dose and his Prograf blood level of 6.5 is definitely within range.
Avatar f tn My mother had liver transplant two and half months back here in Delhi, India. Till two weeks back she was on PanGraaf 4mg, Wysolone (steroid) 15mg and CellCept 1000 mg a day. At that time (i.e. two weeks back) her blood result showed that her TLC has slipped to below normal (which is minimum 4) and was showing as 2.8. Her Haemoglobin seems to have settled around 11.2. All other results including Blood, LFT, Creatine etc show normal.
Avatar m tn I take Prograf for the liver transplant and I know Naragenin affects the Prograf levels. My question is if during treatment I also took Naragenin and my prograf levels were closely watched and adjusted for the Naragenin effects, wouldn't I have a better chance of clearing the virus.
Avatar n tn If i lower my prograf lower than 6.5 through rate i start getting discomfort right side .i am having cognitive issues on prograf that are getting very hard to live with, seems like it got alot worse after my last of three mri with contrast in two years. was hospitalized two days after last contrast exsposure white blood count went to1000, headach, fever urine got exstremly foamy, severe itching ,tighting and rashd eveloped on lower legs two weeks after.
Avatar m tn hi Dr my mum did her liver transplant 10 month ago and she is taking prograf medicine but now a days she is starting to have itching in her hands and feet so is that related to the prograf? or that something to do with the liver? and what should we do ?
Avatar n tn I believe that diarrhea can cause an elevation in Prograf level. Taking Prograf with food can decrease absorption and result in a lower Prograf level. This is even more pronounced if you take it with fatty food. If Prograf doesn't upset your stomach it is best taken about 1 hour before eating - on an empty stomach. The range on my labs sheet is 4 - 16 so you are well within range.
Avatar f tn My typical blood pressure is in the low to mid 120's, however, lately its been in the mid140's/low 150's. And its random...it could be 154/72 and then test it about 20 minutes later and its 122/72. Could the prograf be causing an elevated blood pressure therefore contributing to the dull inconsistent headaches?? Why is it so random?
Avatar f tn What is considered "high blood pressure" and when does it become a concern??? My typical blood pressure is in the low 120's/low 130's however, lately its been in the mid140's/low 150's. Does this happen after transplant (3 months post transplant)? Should I be concerned? Does Prograf cause tremors? And...can these tremors be contributing to making a person feel tired and exhausted???
Avatar m tn Hello, I was diagnosed with Epitheliod HemangoEndoThelioma in both my liver and possibly my lungs. The nodules in my lungs are too small to biopsy and have not changed size in over a year and a half. I was on the transplant list for a year. I was transplanted Feb. 19, 2014. I am 34. I was originally prescribed Prograf at 12 mg AM/12 mg PM and Rapamune 3 mg AM. My current dose is Prograf 3 mg AM/ Prograf 3 mg PM and Rapamune 4 mg AM.
Avatar f tn I went into rejection twice in the hospital and because of this my transplant team saw it best to put me on 5mg of prograf twice a day as well as 4 mg of rapimune, which by the way was off label and i had to sign a release form for. Just within the past 2 months they lowerd my dosage of rapimune to 2mg but kept the prograf the same. My question to you is exactly how suppressed is my immune system?
1644856 tn?1301038801 Doctor..is there anything else thats safer than prograf ?..Can I change this late in the game ? I received my Liver at University Hospital at Omaha ne at the leeds cancer center. What do you suggest?
29837 tn?1414534648 05mg daily of Prograf. Has anyone who had a liver transplant gotten off the Prograf completely? Inquiring minds want to know.
Avatar f tn I inherited some of my aunts pierced earrings, she had Hepatitis C. Will soaking them in alcohol kill all the germs from her illness? How long should I soak them?
Avatar m tn If suppressants are at the correct trouph levels, say, Prograf and Rapamycin, what are the next steps - switch suppressants, treat?
Avatar n tn My history: liver transplant 1 year ago, had 2 moderate rejections and 1 mild since transplant. At present time having moderate rejection, recently had one portal stent and 8 Bilary ERCP's to remove stones and sludge and had stenting done, and at the present time there are no blockages. Was on Rapamune (5mg a day) prior to hernia surgery and then week before hernia surgery was put on Prograf (4mg a day) and taken off the Rapamune. I have been on Progaf since hernia surgery (8 weeks ago).
1135761 tn?1260557094 bad taste in mouth, aches and pains with muscles and joints, diarrhea, and headache. No fever or nausea. Am I just complaining or should I take more seriously. I had blood drawn today. My next appointment with my transplant team is june 15.
29837 tn?1414534648 Doctor has lowered my anti-rejection Prograf yet again to 1.5 mg daily. He is very aggressive yet cautious in lowering this anti-rejection medicine. In the long run, Prograf can cause kidney failure because it is toxic. So when he lowers it, I have do blood work in one month to see if the volume of Prograf in my body isn't too low, otherwise, I would have to go back to the former dosage. Dec. 3rd will be four years post transplant and time for celebration.
Avatar m tn t understand the relationship between treatment and Prograf dose. It sounds logical to think that the higher the Prograf dose the less likely TX will be successful and, at the extreme, I think that's probably true. But, whether 3 mg per day or 6 mg Prograf per day makes any difference is a question I cannot answer. When I treated there was a reluctance to dose the way a non-transplant patient would have been dosed and that can be and, in my case, was problematic.
Avatar f tn I had a bad reaction from eating these foods. I had been warned about grapefruit juice, as it increases the amount of Prograf in the blood-stream. I did not know about the problems with other foods. Being a health food addict, this is what I eat. I had noticed I had not felt good for a couple of days but did not think that much about it. After about 3 days I knew something wasn't right with my body.
Avatar n tn I know of one man who after 5 years stopped taking his prograf. He's 9 years out and doing fine. He's lucky he had a donor whose liver was a perfect match for him, he had no rejection episodes, etc. It's a risk but research is ongoing. Having had my daughter as my live liver donor, and no rejection episodes, I think I'd be a good candidate and am very interested in this subject. Currently I'm on .5mg prograf twice daily, the lowest dosage possible.
Avatar m tn What is the reference range (normal value) of prograf in the body (peak and Trough)?
Avatar m tn My son is 14 years he underwent liver transplantation at 2007 . He has in explained fever at night along with enlarged Lymphnode at his neck and chest . Before two years he has the same symptoms but without fever and he was undergone to biopsy from his chest which yield that he has not tumor .
