Prograf and breast feeding

Common Questions and Answers about Prograf and breast feeding

prograf

Avatar m tn I take Prograf for the liver transplant and I know Naragenin affects the Prograf levels. My question is if during treatment I also took Naragenin and my prograf levels were closely watched and adjusted for the Naragenin effects, wouldn't I have a better chance of clearing the virus.
Avatar f tn t keep and process the needed level of Prograf and because of that occurs rejection. Is this posible to happen because of the feeding?
Avatar f tn prograf can cause tremor and high blood pressure. its not unusual to feel fatigued this soon after a transplant.
Avatar f tn I think 2 mg Prograf per day at 6 months out is a really nice dose and his Prograf blood level of 6.5 is definitely within range.
Avatar n tn Its kind of the same feeling i had after my transplant when i was on hi doses of prograf. Any ideas ? Can i try lowering my prograf to try and alievaite this cognitive impairment by adding maybe some cellcept? I have never been on anything but prograf alone except prednisone 6 mo tx .My mouth stays extreamly dry tounge seams to be affixed to my roof of mouth with a tight jaw week muscels and eyesight since contrast. nobody seems to be able to offer any direction.
Avatar n tn I'm 61 years young and had a full liver transplant 2 1/2 months ago. Prograf levels go from 7 to 13.6 back to 6.5 Could it be the new lab that is screwing up. I take all 52 pills on time dailywith a wonderful hubby making sure.
Avatar f tn I have taken prograf and cellcept for 12 yrs. A month ago I went nito renal failure. The kidney Dr. said it was from the prograf that this happened. The liver Dr.disagrees and is putting me back on prograf lower dose. I have been taking prednisone in the mean time . Kind of worried this will happen again. Anyone else have this problem in the past and what was done about it . Thanks , any input would be welcome !
Avatar f tn And its random...it could be 154/72 and then test it about 20 minutes later and its 122/72. Could the prograf be causing an elevated blood pressure therefore contributing to the dull inconsistent headaches?? Why is it so random?
Avatar m tn My current dose is Prograf 3 mg AM/ Prograf 3 mg PM and Rapamune 4 mg AM. The intent is to convert me to 100% Rapamune because of the nephro-toxicity of the Prograf and my young age and because of the anti-cancer properties of Rapamune. Data, while horribly limited, has shown Rapamune's anti-cancer properties have had success against vascular tumors such as mine so EHE, in this case chronic, is part of the cancers Rapamune affects (some cancers it has no effect).
Avatar f tn Thanks alot ladies I did take a test and I'm not, I am definitely using confirms and working in getting birth control me and my husband don't want anymore babies right now..
408496 tn?1269603350 Okay - Who is breast feeding and who is bottle feeding? I think I am going to breast feed for a few months (have to go back to work after 8 weeks) and then I might pump for 1 month at work, then gradually make the switch to formula. My sister breast-fed her little one until she was one. She did not pump - she just sumplemented with formula while she was working, which is an option too.
Avatar f tn Blood tests show that the BUN and creatinine levels are slightly elevated. If prograf does effect the kidneys, what measures can be taken to help minimize damage to the kidneys and help protect the kidneys??? Thank you in advance.
Avatar f tn I went into rejection twice in the hospital and because of this my transplant team saw it best to put me on 5mg of prograf twice a day as well as 4 mg of rapimune, which by the way was off label and i had to sign a release form for. Just within the past 2 months they lowerd my dosage of rapimune to 2mg but kept the prograf the same. My question to you is exactly how suppressed is my immune system?
Avatar f tn Yes exactly what she said.
8489354 tn?1405627762 Any tips for both breast feeding and bottle feeding your baby? I've heard some babies don't do well with switching back and forth. Any suggestions on easing the transition of back and forth?
Avatar f tn Ok I plan on breast feeding and am taking my pump to the hospital to pump while I'm there to help with labor but also so my boyfriend can feed him too has anyone breast and bottle fed successfully I plan on going back to work as soon as my paid maternity leave is up as well soi won't be able to strictly breast feed I'll be pumping and bottle feeding then but I want my boyfriend to have that bonding time with our son before then
Avatar f tn Breast feeding is better both for you and the baby. Also formula is expensive and babies from my personal experiences tend to be crankier and cry more. Everyone has their own perferences. Try it out and if it dont work for you then it didnt work.
1644856 tn?1301038801 I have a sort of Ventral hernia around the liver..and now they have found that I have enlarged lymph nodes surrounding my stomach and liver. They periodically flare up with pain. Now I`am on methadone for the pain. This I dont care for much, but is the only thing that helps the pain some.Doctors put me through series of tests & though I had melynoma? Because of the prograff I take..Iam on 1 1/2 mgs twice a day.I am grateful..I only had 6 months to live almost ten yrs ago.My question is..
29837 tn?1414534648 05mg daily of Prograf. Has anyone who had a liver transplant gotten off the Prograf completely? Inquiring minds want to know.
Avatar f tn I would recommend strictly breast feeding, it's the best thing for your baby. I was only able to breast feed my daughter for 3 months before I dried up, if I hadn't I would still be breast feeding and she's 8 months now.
Avatar f tn t cross into breast milk and are completely safe to take while breast feeding. Just make sure the doctor knows you're breast feeding so they can give you the correct one.
Avatar f tn I planned on breast feeding, but I did buy a sterilizer and bottles anyway (will need them eventually) and I couldn't breastfeed so im thankful for having tjem already, my other half had to run out and get formula after a few days of trying. So much easier when everything already done. And I had my bottles already clean just in case.
Avatar f tn First, congratulations on breast feeding! Pumping is definitely a chore and you're to be commended for doing it exclusively. As for pregnancy, the hormone produced by breast feeding shuts off your period. As long as you don't have a period you're safe. Pumping should work as well in that regard as regular breast feeding deos. Whenever you stop pumping or slow down considerably, that's when you should start using protection again.
2075737 tn?1379447682 I am planning on breast feeding I just have not decided if I am going to pump all the time and use the milk in a bottle or do both breast and bottle(with breast milk) I work at a hotel and sometimes we work 9 10 hours at a time. But I am going to make it work.
