Tony is correct, if you are in fact breastfeeding you should discuss with your OB/GYN a progestin only pill ( a good example would be NORA-BE TABLET) . If not here are some low dose pills to consider.
However, it has made me gain weight and be bloated all the time. This is not okay, so I definitely need to switch again because I cannot afford to buy all new clothes in the next size up.
What should I ask my dermatologist for next? Yaz and Desogen have also not worked out for me in the past.
I'd be grateful for any advice. Thanks!!

I am wondering if its the ingredients in the yasmin that could be doing it besides the progestin and estrogen? Where you taking it continuously with the yasmin 21 or the 28 day?
MARVELON21 contains the below ingredients
Each white, round tablet contains desogestrel 0.15 mg and ethinyl estradiol 0.03 mg. Nonmedicinal ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, lactose, polyethylene glycol, povidone, starch, stearic acid, talc, titanium dioxide and vitamin E.
I had extreme weight gain and nausea.Mood swings as well.But then again all women are diff.When I spoke about the weight gain to my urologist he said what are you taking and I told him and he said didn't they warn you that its a side-effect.I said no.Anyway it didn't work for me either.I was on it for 6 months with no relief.I have had partial hyst as well and many laps too. I have had the implanion inplant in for about 1 1/2 yrs and i have had normal on time periods, and about 3 months ago i was late, and then i started my period, and after my period 2 wks or so i spotted once, and since then i have had no period, i have tooken pg test and they all come up neg.
Have you started on a progestin-related hormonal therapy? Endo shrinks with progestin and grows with estrogen. Combination pills won't help most women with endo but may help with PCOS.
There are hormonal tests that could help you identify if you have "estrogen predominance." Truly, you should see a specialist if your periods are that painful. Pain is NOT normal and you should see a specialist to get a treatment plan that helps you either way.
I'm 30, I was diagnosed with Oligomenorrhea (infrequent period/irregular cycle). I have had blood tests and ultrasounds and thank God everything came back normal. My GYN put me on a low dose birth control for 3 months. On the end of the 3rd month my period came by itself before the last pill (Dec). It didn't come after that and I called for a consult and was put on the 10 day Progestin pills to bring on my cycle for some blood tests. My cycle never came.

Hi! I am new here and have a question about recovery time. I just feel that I need to get some perspective on real experiences with this. I had a cystectomy on June 24 to remove three cysts from my right ovary. One month before the surgery I had a 7cm cyst that ruptured. This was my second surgery: in August of 2008 I had a bilateral cystectomy. I've been told the cysts are due to endometriosis.
I had really bad effects with that birth control! I bled for 3 months straight gained weight and had to get it taken out.

The chances of pregnancy from this event remain extremely low, for all of the reasons I mentioned in my first post. There is not a lot I can add to that, nor can anyone give you hard numbers.
If you are breastfeeding then you should do the progestin only pill as the pill with the combo of estrogen and progestin has been shown to affect milk supply. It's called the mini pill. It's slightly less effective so you have to make sure that you don't miss any doses, as it will increase your chances of another pregnancy. They also have a progestin implant that is quite effective as well, and then you don't have to worry about if you miss a pill.
When Vagifem or Estrace is prescribed for a post menopausal woman with a uterus, should a progestin always be prescribed as well? I've been taking Vagifem for 2 years without a progestin, and now I have to undergo an endometrial biopsy because of some buildup of the lining of my uterus (I have no bleeding....it showed up on an TV ultrasound...small changes and endometrial thickness of 5mm).
I got on birth control (progestin) and it helped me regulate my period and I stopped getting them but I stop so the cyst came back. When they cane back it seemed to happen like back to back ruptures. Now I’m have serve lower back pain. Is this possible?
