pristiq zombie

I've had anxiety (and depression as a result of the anxiety) for about 7 years now (since I was 14). I've been on various anxiety and depression meds, but all made me feel like a zombie. They made me super tired all the time. Anxiety medication only seems to sedate you so much that there doesn't seem to be a thought going on in your head! Clonazepam is the only medication that I took that I can remember the name of (that right there tells you how sedated the meds made me!

I'm thinking about talking to my PCP about going back on an anti-depressant medication. My dysthymia (chronic depression) is getting the best of me, and I'm nearly to the point that I don't really want to do anything anymore. I've taken Effexor in the past, and it seemed to work well for me, but I really don't like the sexual side effects.

the out come i have general anxiety disorder, depression and bi polar one disorder or so i am told. i was prescribed pristiq and lamictal low low doses....50 mg pristiq 25 mg lamictal which of course i will keep upping and upping and upping until what my brain is totally fried and i am a hollow shell of myself???? the problem is i can't live like i was before and i can't live like i am right now. i have been on this medicine for 4 days, that's it.

I am able to function, but not live. I work from my couch, very rarely leave the home, and feel like a complete zombie. I have urges to take more Adderall throughout the day as I feel that is the only medicine that helps me actually "live". My new doctor changed my antidepressant from Lexapro to Pristiq about a month ago to solve this problem.

i have a question about pristiq. I tapered down off pristiq over a 4 month time frame. I took my last dose about 20 days ago. I was on it for about 2 years too long. Here is a little info: I started taking antidepressants about 3 years ago for anxiety and panic attacks. I had tried two in the past before that (Paxil and lexapro) i was a teen and it made me have what i know now is anxiety. I have a problem with change.

Been on Pristiq for 6 days,felt like a zombie the first 2 days but continued because I was so thankful I had lost my desire to drink alcohol and the noise in my head quieted.(now I just have a ringing sound 24hrs)As an athlete I find it depressing to have zero energy, need to nap, I also feel very anti social and want to stay in bed. I understand being manic has its down sides but its starting to feel like I would prefer manic and "self medicating " over this bla state of nothingness.

hey everyone, today my psychiatrist switched me from 50mg of Pristiq to 37.5mg of Effexor XR, he said the 50mg of Pristiq was too much, anyone ever done this switch or have experiences on the 37.5mg of Effexor?

I ended up on 100Mgs a day with Pristiq and took it for a good 5 months, it worked ok, but not well enough to cover my symptoms. I then got off Pristiq. (I must tell you that the withdrawl from Pristiq is very strong. MUCH worse than even with Cymbalta or Effexor. My best results were with Effexor XR (a couple years before the Cymbalta and pristiq problem) Effexor XR just worked much better.

m now on Pristiq which is Effexor metabolite. Pristiq is less side effects. Both may work differently. For me, Pristiq work better. Pristiq may also reduce sexual desire but not like Effexor. Also, it work differently from one to another. Google on Pristiq if it available where you live.

Does anyone know anything about pristiq? I was looking to see if anyone has had any experience with this medication or if anyone knows anything about it.

Just hot my thyroid levels at a good level. I switched from pristiq to cymbalta back in November. I am tired ALL the time. More than when my thyroid was out of whack. Could the cymbalta be causing this and if so, what if I took it at night?

n pristiq before bed...I suddenly stopped taking pristiq cuz I ran out n my phyciatrist doc office was closed..its beeen 2days now that I haven't taken pristiq..my head hurts bad it feels soar n my neck n ears hurt n eyes a bit..I also have a soar throat..could this b cuz im just stressing n stressing or because I stopped my medication pristiq?? Hi. I tried Pristiq in an attempt to help with menopausal symptoms. I was (and am) on Effexor XR, and Pristiq is almost identical to Effexor XR. I think the only difference is in their molecules. I didn't find Pristiq any better (for me) than Effexor XR, so I went back to Effexor XR. I wish you the best of luck with it. I hope it works for you.

ve recently been experiencing panic attacks. My Dr added Pristiq to my treatment. As I understand, Pristiq is a more purified form of Effexor. Since starting on the Pristiq two weeks ago, I have felt like pure poo poo. I went to a GP today, thinking I may have a virus or something. She said she would NEVER prescribe both Effexor and Pristiq together. I'm pretty confused on which doctor I'm supposed to believe. I'm going to try to stop the Pristiq, but am not sure what will happen.

My doctor put me on pristiq and I am afraid to take it. I took Zoloft while pregnant and stopped about a month after my daughter was born. I felt good then. Then my gp put me on Lexapro and that zonked me out. Back to Zoloft again. I feel just like the depression commercials describe. I hate it. I just would like to know if anyone has been taking it and how you feel on it.

5mg along with the pristiq for a week, and then just pristiq. I am afraid, seeing how just being off effexor for 7 hrs. put me in E.R. The Doctor said pristiq won't do that if I miss or am late on a dose. He better be right.

Hi jethrosmom2784, I'm not familiar with the drug Pristiq. I'm assuming it was your doctor who prescribed Pristiq for you. If it's not working for you, only your doctor can help you wean off this drug safely. As with any drug prescribed by a doctor, it is essential that you not stop this drug by yourself . That can be very dangerous. My best advice is to go back to your famly doctor. Tell him or her that you feel Pristiq is not working for you.

If you're doing well on Effexor, I don't see any reason to switch. I've never been on Pristiq, but side effects when taking PRISTIQ 50 mg may include nausea, dizziness, sweating, constipation, and decreased appetite. In clinical studies of the recommended 50-mg dose, the percentage of people who stopped taking PRISTIQ due to side effects was similar to placebo (sugar pill).

Ive developed headaches and am severly tired...Ive been off the pristiq for three weeks....should i have tapered off the pristiq first even though they are suppose to be the same??? help please i dont know what to do and i cant take it anymore...

I am on Armour Thyroid for Hypothyroidism, Pristiq for depression, Protonix for GERD and HRT. I know the Pristiq can cause it, but the dry mouth started years after I started the Pristiq. I just sent my doctor an email questioning whether Thyroid problems can cause dry mouth. Anyone have any ideas or answers? Thanks!

just gone on 6 weeks with pristiq feeling shaky inside,tired has anyone else feel shaky inside on this med is this a side effect after all this time or could it be its not working heard it can take up to 8 weeks has anyone taken it this long to work?

I came off Lexapro 20mg (was not working anymore) and my doctor put me on Pristiq 50mg and xanax. The pristiq is working good but after a couple of months now I am not so sure. I take the Xanax at night because it helps me sleep. I am a 45 year old male and suffer from GAD and mild deppresion. Should I try something stronger or seek therapy or what? Has anyone else experienced this or on Pristiq? I feel like I am sputtering out here. Any help very much appreciated.

I'm on week 3 of Pristiq after Cymbalta pooped out on me after 5 successful yrs on it. First tried to switch me to Zoloft and that made me worse (February 2014). Until 3 weeks ago, they tried to add things to the Cymbakta (Abilify, buspar) but it wasn't working (for deoression/anxiety). 3 weeks ago to Pristiq 50mg.
