It's hard to say WHY you had panic attacks. It could have been part of a discontinuation symptom from d/c'ing the Paxil (like a w/d), because while you were started on a new med (Zoloft) while coming off the Paxil, they aren't identical in their mechanism of action, and you could still experience some w/d. Paxil is notoriously hard to come off of. What was the dose you were at when you stopped taking it and what was the dose of Zoloft?
I am not physically restricted - I walk 1 mile or more day and do 10 minutes of other light exercises most days. My BP runs under 120/80 most of the time. I understand carvedilol helps prevent stiffening of the heart muscle and can help restore LV function to some degree. How specially, so it do this? What is the biochemical mechanism?

Abilify can be used to augment antidepressants such as Lexapro.
I use Lamictal to augment my Pristiq and it works much better than just the Antidepressant alone.
Combining SSRI's or SNRI's with mood stabilizing drugs such as Abilify or Lamictal can often help a lot. Although they do take a good few weeks to kick in.
In the past I have taken just about every drug you mentioned above, but I am supprised that your doctor has never tried you on an SNRI such as Effexor XR or Pristiq.

s important to note that while all SSRIs are in the same class, they are NOT all the same. They actually all vary quite a bit in their exact make up and mechanism of action...therefore, just because you did poorly on one doesn't mean you would do poorly on another (and vice versa).
My personal (unofficial) recommendation would be to try either Lexapro or Prozac.
Plavix has a unique mechanism of action by blocking the amplification of platelet activation by released ADP, and often used with aspirin to prevent the risk of clots for the first year after DES implant. Plavix and aspirin have different mechanism of action to prevent clots. After a year, plavix is usually discontinue as the risk for clots is decreased, and aspirin is continued long term. I am trying to come off of Pristiq slowly tapering! I just feel so sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's a nightmare I want to just cry i'm miserable! I have heart palpitations I'm very nauseas anyone else get this way? How long will this take to go away I can't go on like this. I am doing 50mg every other day i'mg oing to do this for a few weeks then try and break them in half being that 50 is the lowest dose. I want to feel better. It is also making me think crazy things...

n pristiq before bed...I suddenly stopped taking pristiq cuz I ran out n my phyciatrist doc office was closed..its beeen 2days now that I haven't taken pristiq..my head hurts bad it feels soar n my neck n ears hurt n eyes a bit..I also have a soar throat..could this b cuz im just stressing n stressing or because I stopped my medication pristiq?? I would like help plzz..im scared..
Pristiq is nothing but an active metabolite of Effexor (venlafaxine being Effexor and desvenlafaxine being Pristiq). Honestly, it should be about as effective as Effexor is. The only reason it was created is because Effexor's patent (if it hasn't already) and soon will be a generic, cheap drug. The pharmaceutical companies always come up with a new drug to push over the old ones whenever this happens because they don't make even a quarter of the money off of the generic drugs.
ve recently been experiencing panic attacks. My Dr added Pristiq to my treatment. As I understand, Pristiq is a more purified form of Effexor. Since starting on the Pristiq two weeks ago, I have felt like pure poo poo. I went to a GP today, thinking I may have a virus or something. She said she would NEVER prescribe both Effexor and Pristiq together. I'm pretty confused on which doctor I'm supposed to believe. I'm going to try to stop the Pristiq, but am not sure what will happen.
I went to my psychiatrist today and told him of my episode of missing effexor dose and he said that it was from the effexor, I was just 7 hours late and wound up in ER from symtoms listed in my first post. So he wants me to switch to pristiq, which I have never taken. I am supposed to start taking pristiq 50mg. along with effexor xr 75mg for a week and then effexor xr 37.5mg along with the pristiq for a week, and then just pristiq. I am afraid, seeing how just being off effexor for 7 hrs.
