Common Questions and Answers about Pristiq and vitamin d

pristiq

Avatar m tn I have tried many multi-vitamins in the past and always find that something within them makes my stomach upset. Not sure if it is the iron or zinc but when i take the vitamins like B,C, D and Omegas I feel ok.
Avatar f tn When I was perscribed Pristiq my psychiatrist didnt even know I have depression, she was just treating me for anxiety. And let me tell you, Pristiq changed my life the first few months I took it...as in my anxiety went from 100% every single day to barely getting any anxiety over the course of a month. Everybody handles meds differently, so give Pristiq a try as it may be your "miracle" drug as I used to call it a few months ago. Good luck!
Avatar f tn t know that it was a anxiety symtom before so i kept ignoring it but the main thing when i was on my way to home at night n i got a pain in my abdomen (it was mild though) i thould it was nothing but a normal upset stomach i went to the doctor he told to get me a kidney function test , complete blood count , liver function test , vitamin d test and b12 test etc, everything came normal except the vitamin d and the b12 my vitamin d was 21 and b12 was border line 240 ( it should be between 200-90
822153 tn?1333062995 i used to sell Effexor XR and my girlfriend sells Pristiq and said it is the same. It is a great drug and will really help with you anxiety!! I wishing you continued success and happiness!!! Feel free to ask any more question/concerns you may have!
Avatar f tn I am a 52 year old female. Post menopause and on hormones. Just hot my thyroid levels at a good level. I switched from pristiq to cymbalta back in November. I am tired ALL the time. More than when my thyroid was out of whack. Could the cymbalta be causing this and if so, what if I took it at night?
Avatar f tn I just recently got on Pristiq 50mg and have had a migraine everyday since. (10days). I initially started with 25mg and did not get any migraines. For about 10 years, I was on Zoloft and had about 8-12 migraine days a month. I got off it last year and my migraines went down to 1-3 a month. I had no idea the Zoloft was the cause until I discontinued it. Unfortunately my panic started coming back and I really need the antidepressant.
Avatar m tn Equivalencies are generalizations, and you are an individual. Besides, Pristiq is a different class of drug than Lexapro. Lexapro is an ssri while Pristiq is an snri. And if it were me, which it isn't, I'd start at a low dosage and work my way up on any medication so I could see how bad the side effects were and the lowest dosage at which it works is.
Avatar n tn To add to nursegirls excellent advice, Pristiq is prescribed so frequently because it's newer and still on patent, and so it's being pushed by the pharmaceutical company reps more than long time generics such as Prozac or Zoloft. Those docs probably have drawers full of free sample of it. This is how it goes, unfortunately.
Avatar f tn I will only add one thing to Ryan's otherwise very good post. People do have different reactions to different drugs, even to Celexa and Lexapro or Pristiq and Effexor. While it's true the companies are trying to keep a patented product in their lineup, Lexapro seems to have fewer side effects than Celexa, but many people do find one or the other works better. Same probably with Pristiq and Effexor. But to prescribe both at once is insane.
Avatar n tn I called the pdoc back and he's having me take a 75 effexor xr and my pristiq 50---I guess a ween off of it, no more brain zaps for now, I dont know what will happen after I stop taking effexor all together, we shall see in a few weeks. As for the comment above, I too have seen people have to pay out of pocket for perscriptions and its usually elderly and people like me, who had been laid off and take medications and are put into a situation of having to pay out of pocket, what to do?
Avatar f tn I really dont feel depressed at all,I feel ok when i had my clonazepan dosage, but what if I become an addict, how can I start taking pristiq and not being scared? Like I said above , i feel more anxious and panic than depressed. So Pristiq will work with my anxiety? What about Clonazepan withdrawals?
Avatar n tn I was also diagnosed with ptsd and was on hydo and morphine for a lot of years and went CT. After day 6 I was on the up and up. The rls started to dissipate and my head cleared. I was on antidepressants until recently for pain but have since stopped due to weight gain. It feels good with noting in me except my BP meds….No pain ..no gain.
Avatar f tn but it said taking a 100mg of vitamin B-complex and a subliqual B-12 vit would help for energy. what do you think? chronic mistake, no i can't tell my dr. when i get them again in 2-3 weeks,i'll make sure i take them right if i do decide to refill them.
Avatar f tn I even left a follow up message, asking for samples until I could miss work (maybe on a Saturday morning?) It has been 5 days without my A/D and I am crashing and burning. I have 23 Effexor pills from a May script, from switching to Pristiq. Is it safe to take the Effexor to get me by? I have to do something. I feel that I am crashing and burning and cannot stop crying. I just want to know if it is safe. Thank you!!
Avatar f tn For almost 2 years, I have been, and continue to be, treated for Fibro, Osteoarthritis, Senile Osteoporosis (daily injection of Forteo), high blood pressure and low/none vitamin D, and periods of low white cells. Was checked for the usual, RA, Lupus etc. Nothing showed up. Previous health-worked fulltime around 50 hours a week or more, constantly going and doing, did many family dinners, active runner, won divisional 5k first place and masters and weight trained. BMI is around 20.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know the the relationship between Vitamin D and MS and if you take supplements, will it help prevent relapses? I was just reading something about this from a report from the UK--and their research suggests that it does seem to help. I also wonder if you can give vitamin supplements to children/teens and if that will help to prevent the disease later in life.
1134609 tn?1269272200 I've been tested and have come up with a deficiancy of Vitamin D was told that Vitamin D is like the mortar between the bricks of your colon wall, if you have a deficiancy then the toxins can easily slip through the gaps out your colon and into your blood stream. First stop your liver, then onto your heart and mind. Once your liver starts to drop then it's harder for you to metabolise other vitamins also only making things worse.
Avatar n tn I am on 5 mg of prednisone and cellcept as well. Can I ask why you stopped taking the cellcept? My Dr is trying to lower me off of the prednisone all together and just stay on the cellcept. I was on 10 mg of pred 4 weeks ago, down to 7.5 mg 2 weeks ago and just got reduced to 5 mg. My numbers are staying in great shape, but I am still holding steady on the cellcept. I have been battling AIH for a year and a half. Nothing has worked w/the prednisone accept for cellcept.
Avatar f tn In the report issued today, the committee reviewed studies on the metabolism and physiology of calcium and vitamin D and their influence on health. Dietary reference intakes were determined using the estimated average requirement (EAR; the level at which 50% of the population's needs are met), recommended dietary allowance (level at which 95% of the population's needs are met), tolerable upper intake level, and adequate intake level.
Avatar f tn Have your Vitamin D checked. I also heard that tanning beds do not give you the Vitamin D so not sure about a sunlamp. Coral Calcium has Vitamin D3 so it's a good source as well as most fish, especially salmon. Vitamin D deficiencies can cause serious problems. Mine was just tested at 40 and it was 11.8, well below normal and it took months of arthritis pains, gout, paresthesias, four doctors, etc. for one doctor to say, "Haven't they ever tested your Vitamin D?
Avatar f tn What positive results did you see? Arthritis is the last thing I need! I take calcium, vitamin D, fish oil, flaxseed oil, vitamin C, and magnesium, I also have osteoporosis and I am 44! I am hoping to see an improvement in my bone scan this summer. Being hyper with Grave's surely didn't help.
