Avatar f tn I never did yoga unil now my 2nd pregnancy and your right it's beautiful I love learning how to control my body and breathing all while focusing on my unborn baby aswell and incorporating it all together as one, I absolutely love it and i enjoy it as a hobby not as a workout which is even better :)
Avatar f tn I found my prenatal workout dvds for a dollar at the thrift store...winninngg!! Lol i got two but the one im most fond of is Leisa Harts fitmama prenatal workout. The excerises are not hard at all and get my blood pumping. She shows alot of good stretches as well.

They take advanatge of the DVD format and let you pick which workout you want to do at a given session so that you can customize the length and difficulty. I think that is neat. They do lots of squats, and the music is lame, but they are also good options considering my limitations. I have a small trampoline, and sometimes I just put that in the living room and sort of jog in place on it (I think I'd break it if I actually jumped!
Avatar f tn Jogging is fine if you were jogging regularly prepregnacy. I'm 31 wks, I have 2 different prenatal workout DVDs I do, I go to prenatal yoga & I go for 2 mile walks. Prepregnacy I was a jogger/runner but I had such bad morning (really 24/7) sickness for my 1st tri so I never got back into jogging. Once you get bigger if your still jogging get a maternity belly support wrap, they make a huge difference.
Avatar f tn I've been so tired and nauseous that it's been really hard to motivate myself to go to the gym. If I'm up for it, I will do a moderate workout with light weights and 30 min on the elliptical. I'm trying to do prenatal yoga once a week and also will be trying an at home prenatal workout video. It's justt so hard to motivate! My midwife said that lots of women who are used to working out simply stop during their first trimester since they feel so bad.
Avatar f tn I have been doing at home yoga and relaxation videos for a couple years, what I do is look on amazon for workout dvds, then get them through interlibrary loan to try them out for free before I buy them, going to do the same with preg fitness vids. Waiting for Ina May's Guide to Childbirth book to come in now, heard it is great book. I recently bought the Prenatal Yoga Deck, it has breathing techniques and poses, I like it because you can go as many cards as you have time for.
Avatar f tn Try stretching, working out a little if you can (I do a prenatal workout home DVD-it's only 25 mins long) or look on Pinterest for some prenatal back exercises. Our bodies just by being prego get pulled forward and out of shape. Another thing to try is get a "maternity belly band" it supports your stomach so there is less back strain. I found mine on Amazon, but I've seen them at baby & maternity clothes stores.
Avatar f tn These workout videos on Amazon, they had a 3 dvd pack which incl. A pilates video, a yoga video and a simple workout to slim and tone. Im pretty excited, and im gonna try em out tomorrow! I usually dont take the effort to do anything but this is my 2nd preg.

1430240 tn?1290434023 As your belly grows you may not be able to do all the exercises but you can always switch over to prenatal workout dvds. (I know some of my dvds had a lot of exercises where I was supposed to be laying on my stomach, so I had to cut those out).

My question is have any of you tried the Les Mills Pump! program either at home or in the gym? What did you think of it? Did it work like they say? Do you have any other suggestions for me?

Avatar f tn baby to workout. Nothing crazy-walk or get a prenatal workout DVD (can find on Amazon). When you have the baby you ONLY loose 15-20 lbs everything after that is Ur weight not baby. But staying healthy when prego will make loosing weight post baby easier. After baby don't do crash diets especially if nursing. It takes time. Eat rt & walk. Wait 6 wks before starting a excersise routine & nursing does help burn calories.

Working out REALLY helps, I just have a home prenatal DVD workout video by Joy Southworth (I got on Amazon) it's only 30 mins long so it's easy to do. Or I walk 2 miles outside. It makes a HUGE difference. It doesn't make all pains go away but so much better. Plus it will help with delivery and recovery after baby. I have round ligament pain and severe hip pain, but if I don't workout I feel worse.

Avatar f tn U can also find prenatal workout dvds at Lifeway.My friend bought me one for christmas its awesome.Exercise during pregnancy will benefit u during labor and delivery but be sure its prenatal workouts because the workout is already moderate to suit your pregnancy.If curious about labor and delivery,yes its a pain and contractions are the worstbut its mamanageable. If u have a low tolerance u can always settle for an epidural or explore other medication options to ease the pain.
Avatar f tn And they have the FULL workout (38 minutes) right on youtube....For free! I have a laptop so i can put it on a shelf on my entertainment center in the living room and Poof! Instant private aerobic dance class. Plus you don't have to buy tons of dvds.
Avatar f tn I believe all have to do with that abdomen problem you can get later on, but keeping at least a light workout and core apparently helps for pushing, which makes sense. I am so glad i kept up with it and i think it helped me to not get sick once and stay energized. Since you stopped, just ease back into it. And don't get too hot. I bring a mini fan or a cooling wet towel so i dont overheat.
