I had a total hysterectomy 20 years ago. I was prescribed Premarin daily which I took for the next 15 year until the scare of it being direclty involved in the cause of some breast cancers. I stopped immediately. I have fought the battle of hot flashes for the past 6 years and they are starting to taper off. I am now 61 years old. But I have have an increasing problem with hair loss.

What type of hormones are you taking? Are you on Premarin? Or on any other synthetic hormones? Or on the vaginal ring? or the Vivelle patch? Estratest? Bioidentical Progesterone? And, what about testosterone, either gel or cream, which we women can use "off-label" but some formulas can be put on the cliteral/genital area and work wonders regarding the issue you mentioned.

t immediately go through any symptoms like hot flashes that kind of stuff. It was about a week before I started premarin because my dr wanted me to take it. I took it for several years and then took myself off. I am now 45. I have not had estrogen since 2015. Insomnia is bad, anxiety is higher, and depression has been around more. These are specific blends to each individual and they have got to be properly balance for the individual to maintain wellness and ward off disease and counter act with human progesterone and testosterone for balance. dear doc', Ihave undergone a surgery for having a pitutory gland cyst 3 months back.Ihave all my hormone levels -testosterone,etc. very low before&after the surgery.For that now i have being adviced to have HRT.Is this therapy did any way affect my brain as it had underwent a sugery only 3 months before.Please try to give me a reply as soon as possible.

Has anyone used Premarin to help jump start their period? And if so, how long did it take? I am on it for 25 days (Premarin) and then starting the aygestin after the 16th day.

I took the 1/2 pill with great caution as my mom took premarin for many years and ended up with breast cancer which eventually took her life 5 years ago). I have been tortured since stopping my premarin regime. I don't think I have had a full nights sleep since - in fact last evening the first wake up was at 3:38 and then I had 5 more flashes before I finally got out of bed and started my day with more flashes. I was diagnosed for missed abortion last May 17,2008 (as seen in the Ultrasound,the baby has no heart beat) i was administered a premarin 0.62 mg every 6 hours, the doctor said to soften the cervix as well as cytotec 200 mg every 8 hours. I am assuming that you mean you are on Premarin. If I am wrong, I apologize. I have never been on Premarin, which is a synthetic hormone (as I am sure you know) and was used quite exclusively for years for menopausal symptoms. It was also the hormone used in the big logitudinal study abruptly stopped in 2002... checking on the efficacy of womens hormones on the effect they would have on heart disease in women. The study was flawed from the start, however.

I suffer from Hashimotos autoimmune disease for many years and was diagnosed last year with Lupus after suffering many years with leukopenia which was caused by the Lupus or the Premarin. I took myself off of Premarin in July 2016 and I feel so much better. My hair is now growing back after losing about 3/4 of it during a Lupus flare-up that lasted over 7 months. My muscle aches are gone and my blood counts are now registering normal.

If it has been two months since the hysterectomy, you are at the point where the progesterone and testosterone have just about completely left your system. It takes about three months...whereas the estrogen goes out sooner and you should get some symptom relief from the estrogen you are taking, unless it is a synthetic which I have never used. I know that not all women's systems do not do all that well with the synthetics (like Premarin). Take a look at my profile if you want.

I had a total hysterectomy at the age of 38 and the only hormones I have been taking are premarin (lowest dose) orally and two months ago I had to commence vaginal estrogen due to vaginal atrophy. This has been a rough ride for me, and it's really good to virtually be with others that are going through the same problems. Vonda, Your doctor prescribed Premarin with NO progesterone, and you still have your uterus? Are you still having periods? What did your gyn say about this? I'm no doctor, but prescribing estrogen with no progesterone to a woman with a uterus sounds contrary to everything I've read. Back in the 70's they did this all the time.

My doctor has instructed me to stop taking Premarin because of my age of 65 years due to cancer risks. I also learned that by turning 65 (in the U.S.) insurance will no longer cover. My husbands works with many different doctors (he inserts pacemakers with the surgeons), alot of these MDs feel with all my symptoms and having so many noduals I should just have it removed. The doctor I'm seeing today is actually a surgeon who is a family friend. He's afraid I might have something else going on (connetive tissue disease) that is causing some of my symptoms. He is not convinded my thyroid needs removed.

Since you asked for suggestions, I would also like to add that you might want to check out St Johns wort ,along with GABA, Valerian Root, Hops. These help with the depression and other mood issues that go along with this. Personally, I prefer these over Rx antidepressants, but to each his own, as the saying goes. Best to ya!

for your response and after 2 months I am doing good but my gynaec has asked me to continue with Premarin for another 4 months and he has also asked me to start with Cavit PM.

625mg for 7 months and did very well. Before that, I had tried everything else with very little improvement. Before Premarin I was having hot flashes, anxiety, and terrible insomnia. After the first few days of taking Premarin, I began to notice great improvement. My hot flashes went away and insomnia disappeared. I had a few bumps along the way but then everything balanced out. Now, the old symptoms have returned with a vengeance. My doctor increased it to the next higher dosage of 0.

So, it could be not the Premarin, since I take that every month, and the premarin cream I've added isn't a large amount. Are you saying that it could be related to my period itself, and the placebo pills, even adding the Premarin? Hmm, but that's monthly, too. Or, it may be the sinus issue acting up again, or just something that can't be named.

I was reading some inforamtion about Methyl B12 injections and autism. Has anyone tried this or knows more about it?

If the premarin cream causes a yeast infection should I stop useing it(the premarin cream) or keep useing it. I read somewhere that you should continue useing it to get rid of the yeast infection. I am a bit confused.
