premarin patch

Do I need to continue taking Premarin .0625 or can I discontinue since I am past meopause age.

So, it could be not the Premarin, since I take that every month, and the premarin cream I've added isn't a large amount. Are you saying that it could be related to my period itself, and the placebo pills, even adding the Premarin? Hmm, but that's monthly, too. Or, it may be the sinus issue acting up again, or just something that can't be named.

Has anyone used Premarin to help jump start their period? And if so, how long did it take? I am on it for 25 days (Premarin) and then starting the aygestin after the 16th day.

I am 30 years old just had a total hysyerectomy two months ago my doctor put me on horomone patch at first seemed to help but i have been suffering from migraine headaches vomitting and horrible mood swings one minute i want to cry the next i want to scream sometimes all at the same time i had the feeling im anxious most of the time im tired all the time but have trouble sleeping wake up many times through the night...

I dont have my ovary's. I have been on Estrogen Premarin for 2 months now. Just trying to get the right balance I need since I've been up with bad night sweats and hot flashes. This pain was just one I never felt before. I never had any pain after having my kids. The only time is when I had endo and adneomyois this past year.

or rather used a estrogen patch..Estrogen is available in many foms ,,lotions. body mist,,vaginal pellets,,,I like the patch its small acurate and easy to use...Please use bio identical..Premarin the "old-fashioned " estrogen is actually made from horses urine..Bi-Identical is the closest possible at this time to what your own body would make...I recommend Vivelle..Of corse you must discuss with your doctor what she or he thinks is best or you,,and then YOU decide...

Hello. I am new to this site but wanted to seek a support system on something I'm dealing with. I am 26 years old and after having my daughter in 2003, I had to have a hysterectomy due to complications from endometriosis after going into labor. I was left with 1 ovary which for sometime hasn't been working properly. I'm currently taking Premarin 1.25 mg for my hormonal issues but it isn't helping very much.

I am scheduled to have a hysterectomy soon. The doctor wants to take my ovaries. My mom and both of her sisters have had hysterectomy's. My mother and 1 aunt had early onset of Alzheimers. both took premarin. I have read and studied that HRT's like premarin have a high risk of dementia and heart disease? since my dad had heart disease and most of his siblings and family have had heart problems I am worried. I have Endometrosis and also prolapsed Uteris.

I started hormones last week and they put me on the vivelle dot patch. I put a patch (0.1mg) on every Monday morning and change it on Thurs night to a new patch. Sometimes they have to tweak the dose as a person might need more in the beginning. That seems to be the case for me. The NP at my gyn/oncs office yesterday told me to change the patch after 2 days for now to see how I do. I was getting irritable and had an increase in night sweats by the last day and just feeling kinda yucky.

I was worried after finding out all the health issues around premerin, especially the blood clots, since my mom died of that several years after her hysterectomy. I am currently on .1 vivelle dot patch and I am doing okay. I have no hot flashes, but I still have extreme dry eyes, vaginal dryness, and muscle aches in my upper back. It seems the symptoms get worse one day before I am supposed to change the patch. I have read that some women can burn through the estrogen quicker. My dr. gave me samples of the Divigel to try instead. I really want to stay on the patch bc of the ease of use.

Some women find that trying a different brand can make a world of difference such as switching from Vivelle-Dot or Minivelle (3 day patch) to Climara (7 day patch). They have different adhesives that can affect uptake of the estrogen. The Vivelle-Dot did not work well for me and I didn't know any better to try Climara. If the patch doesn't work out, there are pills, gels, and vaginal rings you can try. Hope you find something that helps soon! I know how desperate it can feel!

I have been in premarin and otc estroven and yes it makes my bms worse

I had a hysterectomy 4 years ago and oopherectomy 3 years ago. I have been on Premarin since. Just this past couple weeks I have been having quit a bit of breast tenderness. Is this normal. Also on other meds not related to menopause, for depression, anxiety etc. I have noticed also that my anxiety and depression has increased.

I was diagnosed for missed abortion last May 17,2008 (as seen in the Ultrasound,the baby has no heart beat) i was administered a premarin 0.62 mg every 6 hours, the doctor said to soften the cervix as well as cytotec 200 mg every 8 hours. I was wondering why i should be given premarin? I have read that premarin is mainly estrogen.. Do i need to continuously use this product? They are waiting for me to bleed for them to be able to perform the D&C. Please advise asap...

The patches you were on as well as Premarin are all estrogen. The patches are bio-identical but Premarin is not. And yes, estrogen can stimulate any remaining endo. Some doctors say that going without estrogen for a certain period of time post-op to allow the lesions to die off reduces this risk. Others say that taking progesterone with the estrogen reduces this "endo flare" risk. Regardless of the endo issue, going without hormones can be a very miserable existence.

After my hysterectomy, the doctor started me on estrogen therapy, Premarin 0.9 daily. A few months ago, I recorded an episode of Oprah, the topic was HRT. After watching this episode, I promptly made an appointment with my family doctor to discuss other HRT options. I was doing better untill about the fourth week after my surgery. I felt super fatigued, like I had the flu 10 times over. I suffer from Hashimotos autoimmune disease for many years and was diagnosed last year with Lupus after suffering many years with leukopenia which was caused by the Lupus or the Premarin. I had a hysterectomy a few months ago in August. My GYN removed EVERYTHING except for a tiny portion of my cervix for a safety measure. He prescribed Premarin 1.25mg. for a month. Since, I haven't had hot flashes, mood swings, or vagina dryness. I was 47 at the time of surgery. The thing I've experienced is I get mild cramps during what would normally be my time of the month, however, with each passing month it is becoming less and less. I feel so much better now!!!!

My eyes get more tired as the day goes on. My medications are Fentyl pain patch for pain, Darvocet and naproxen for break-through pain, Elavil, Effexor, and Celexa for SSRIs, Zocor for cholesterol control, Premarin (estrogen since I had a total hysterectomy), lisinopril for blood pressure, and synthroid for thyroid difficiency . I used to take Neuronton but the doctor took me off that and I haven't noticed a difference.
