Those ligaments are the structural supports for the pelvis keeping the spine, hips, and rib cage in their proper positions. After the ligaments are severed, the spine compresses, the hips widen, and the rib cage
drops. This causes a shortened, thickened midsection, bigger belly and oftentimes a flat looking butt since the curve in the lower back is no longer there.
I also had a hysterectomy but ovaries were removed too.
