Common Questions and Answers about Premarin low dose

premarin

Avatar f tn I agree with japdip. I am facing a bilateral salpingo oopherctomy because I am BRCA1+. My oncologist has made it very clear that I am not a canidate for HRT even though I have had a bilateral mastectomy and the cancer I had was not hormone dependent. They only thing she may consider is an estrogen ring which only releases a small amount of estrogen which absorbs locally. Very little is actually released into the bloodstream.
Avatar m tn I took the 1/2 pill with great caution as my mom took premarin for many years and ended up with breast cancer which eventually took her life 5 years ago). I have been tortured since stopping my premarin regime. I don't think I have had a full nights sleep since - in fact last evening the first wake up was at 3:38 and then I had 5 more flashes before I finally got out of bed and started my day with more flashes. My gen practioner has suggested prozac ... sorry but that seems a bit severe.
Avatar f tn Hello: hoping somebody can help me. I have been on Premarin.625mg for 7 months and did very well. Before that, I had tried everything else with very little improvement. Before Premarin I was having hot flashes, anxiety, and terrible insomnia. After the first few days of taking Premarin, I began to notice great improvement. My hot flashes went away and insomnia disappeared. I had a few bumps along the way but then everything balanced out. Now, the old symptoms have returned with a vengeance.
Avatar f tn Do I need to continue taking Premarin .0625 or can I discontinue since I am past meopause age.
Avatar f tn the other day about some concerns about depression and anxiety issues she put me on a small dose of Premarin 0.03 a very low dose. Well I have read some stuff that is good and bad about it! Can anyone share with me anything about this medication.. I will not take it till I am sure it will work!
Avatar n tn I have had hypothyroidism for many years and have taken medication for it and had it checked every year but I had it tested last week and now I have Hyperthriodism at 6.0. I was just wondering why it changed from low to high? I don't really have the symptoms of high thyroid. I have a low heart rate and have a lot of trouble losing weight, but I have had a problem being really hot during the day and I wake up at night sweating really bad.
1391312 tn?1421086993 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vulvodynia >>so I call the GYN going out of my mind and says to give it some for the premarin to work 3 weeks, my god...then he says well maybe it could be VVS I put the link above and wants me to try low dose Amitriptyline---I have strong percocets that aren't helping, he thinks that will---I guess I'm on my own to figure this one out,,,,doctors!
Avatar f tn Did the blood test route, etc., took whopping doses of Viatmin D and got put on Premarin, the lowest dose. I did not do well on that. I became actually worse, emotionally and it didn't help the sweats, irritability or anything. My doctor told me to try Estroven, and it's better, but I still feel like crap. I don't sleep well at all, I am irritable and snappish and that is NOT my personality. A friend told me she was in a similar state and took bio-identicals.
405614 tn?1329144114 So, it could be not the Premarin, since I take that every month, and the premarin cream I've added isn't a large amount. Are you saying that it could be related to my period itself, and the placebo pills, even adding the Premarin? Hmm, but that's monthly, too. Or, it may be the sinus issue acting up again, or just something that can't be named.
Avatar f tn I was instructed to stop taking my Premarin (lowest dose), for 6 months at a time for fear of Heart related issues. I have done it before, but experience dryness. I had my hysterectomy in 03 (I'm 46), and haven't had intercourse now for almost two years (for several reasons). For whom this concerns; I've been suggested to try premarin creams, but how often do I use it and do they work?
Avatar n tn In 2012 I was 39 and had a hysterectomy ovaries removed. My Dr put me on premarin and said he wanted me on it for 10 years. I took it for only 2 and quit. I don't know why. I hadn't had any problems until a few months ago. Insomnia is bad, sweats at night, anxiety, moodiness and low depression. Now I'm wanting to see about getting back on it. I'm 45 now. Any advise? Has anyone done this?
Avatar f tn He put me on Clomid 100 mg and Premarin 0.3 mg. The next blood test my progesterone level was 0.9. Now he has put me on Metformin 500 mg twice a day. I am not over weight, in fact I am almost under weight. I was just wondering if anyone else had had their progesterone level drop the second month or if anyone had any advice.

Avatar f tn I have experienced weight gain, mood swings, leg cramps, fatigue and loss of interest in life. I have been taking Premarin a low dose. I just stopped taking it since I don't think it's helping anyways. Any suggestions on hormones or no hormones? Or alternatives?
Avatar f tn I'm 58 and have been on the lowest dose of Premarin for over 10 years. In the last few months I have been having a bloody vaginal discharge. Should I be worried?
Avatar n tn My TSH is 0. My T4 is 12.3. (I do take Premarin.) My T3 Uptake is 30.2. I had my right tyroid gland removed in 1983. There was a benign tumor. I used to have a 2 reading for my TSH. (I had been taking Synthroid .1 for all of these years.) At Christmas I tried Armour. I was in bed for 3 weeks with what I thought was flu. My doctor put me back on Synthroid and gave me 1.33. The subesequent test showed 1/2 pt.TSH, so she began cutting the dosage. I am now at .
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed for missed abortion last May 17,2008 (as seen in the Ultrasound, the baby has no heart beat) i was administered a premarin 0.62 mg every 6 hours, the doctor said to soften the cervix as well as cytotec 200 mg every 8 hours. I was wondering why i should be given premarin? I have read that premarin is mainly estrogen.. Do i need to continuously use this product? They are waiting for me to bleed for them to be able to perform the D&C. Please advise asap...
778044 tn?1299542934 Has anyone used Premarin to help jump start their period? And if so, how long did it take? I am on it for 25 days (Premarin) and then starting the aygestin after the 16th day.
1194973 tn?1385503904 Has anyone ever heard of this drug called Premarin? I was given it after the surgery yesterday and according to the leaflet it's just a female hormone. I assume Estrogen? I asked a few doctors and got different answers from each one.
Avatar f tn I have tried every over-the-counter remedy known. I also tried a very low dose of hormones and got sick with them. I am really trying to figure out a way for the " hot flashes", mood swings, and weight gain to taper off. I am 41and I am experiencing excessive facial hair, as well as body hair. This has been the worst experience for me. Do you have any suggestions for me?
Avatar f tn It seems odd to follow fibroid surgery with estrogen HRT (premarin and estrone are both types of estrogen) since estrogen causes fibroids to grow... You should call your doctor and ask when your period should start. I'm surprised your doctor did not tell you to use protection (condom, diaphragm) until you are ready to get pregnant since Premarin does not prevent pregnancy... I wish I could be of more assistance...
Avatar f tn People who are hypo t seem to respond best when the free T3 is in the upper third of its range and TSH in the low end of its range. Some members of this forum ( myself included ) have reported having insufficient free T3 levels even while having low TSH. This was due to their body having trouble converting enough T4 to T3.
Avatar f tn The Pedi perscribed her a cream called premarin for me to apply to the affected area 2x a day until I saw that it was getting better then to continue it until it had corrected itself. Well, I stopped putting the cream on my daughter about month into using it because I had noticed that she was starting to get a lot of peach fuzz in the area. I stopped using the cream but the hair is still there and now sone are turning brown!
Avatar f tn I suffer from Hashimotos autoimmune disease for many years and was diagnosed last year with Lupus after suffering many years with leukopenia which was caused by the Lupus or the Premarin. I took myself off of Premarin in July 2016 and I feel so much better. My hair is now growing back after losing about 3/4 of it during a Lupus flare-up that lasted over 7 months. My muscle aches are gone and my blood counts are now registering normal.
Avatar f tn I have been on HRT for 22 yrs and am on a low dose of premarin. I actually forget to take it most of the time as my symptons have quieted down. Oh and i smoke too but i wanted to rip the doctor from one end to the other so he decided he better keep me on. That was a few years ago. Im knocking on wood that it stays in check!!!! good luck girl.
Avatar f tn All blood tests have been normal except for white. I had a hysterectomy 35 years ago and have taken low dose of Premarin since. After weighing pros and cons of hormone replacement for me, all doctors have said to continue meds. Also said that I won't have to go through symptoms of menopause. Next test will be ultrasound of stomach. For the last month, maybe longer I've had painful symptoms of gallstones. I will tell my doctor about them, next appointment.
Avatar f tn What are the reference ranges on your FT4 and TT3? Ranges vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report. Do you have any hypER symptoms? Intolerance to heat? Diarrhea? Insomnia? Anxiety? Elevated heart rate or blood pressure? Were you trying to lose weight over the paswt year?
