premarin

Avatar f tn t feel like I could blame it on the premarin. My question is...Can stoping the premarin after all these yrs cause a change in my rt breast that would show up abnormal?
405614 tn?1329144114 So, it could be not the Premarin, since I take that every month, and the premarin cream I've added isn't a large amount. Are you saying that it could be related to my period itself, and the placebo pills, even adding the Premarin? Hmm, but that's monthly, too. Or, it may be the sinus issue acting up again, or just something that can't be named.
Avatar f tn I am in the same boat, turning 59 this January. My total hysterectomy was in the mid 1980s. I have cut down to four tablets about five years ago and for the past two years take three (M, W, F). Still unsure of way to go, but interested in knowing more.
778044 tn?1299542934 How long did it take you after your second lap and treatment of Premarin to get your cycle back? They say after the 25 days of Premarin, I should get a period between 2 days and 2 weeks. Hopefully closer to 2 days !!
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed for missed abortion last May 17,2008 (as seen in the Ultrasound, the baby has no heart beat) i was administered a premarin 0.62 mg every 6 hours, the doctor said to soften the cervix as well as cytotec 200 mg every 8 hours. I was wondering why i should be given premarin? I have read that premarin is mainly estrogen.. Do i need to continuously use this product? They are waiting for me to bleed for them to be able to perform the D&C. Please advise asap...
880900 tn?1467270141 Thanks for your response. I don't think that's it, but I'll certainly check it out. Creams, etc. have not worked in the past, but maybe things have changed. I've been in menopause for 14 years! Getting pretty fed up with it all.
Avatar m tn I took the 1/2 pill with great caution as my mom took premarin for many years and ended up with breast cancer which eventually took her life 5 years ago). I have been tortured since stopping my premarin regime. I don't think I have had a full nights sleep since - in fact last evening the first wake up was at 3:38 and then I had 5 more flashes before I finally got out of bed and started my day with more flashes. My gen practioner has suggested prozac ... sorry but that seems a bit severe.
Avatar f tn I suffer from Hashimotos autoimmune disease for many years and was diagnosed last year with Lupus after suffering many years with leukopenia which was caused by the Lupus or the Premarin. I took myself off of Premarin in July 2016 and I feel so much better. My hair is now growing back after losing about 3/4 of it during a Lupus flare-up that lasted over 7 months. My muscle aches are gone and my blood counts are now registering normal.
Avatar f tn Then they noticed that cases of endometrial cancer among Premarin users were going through the roof - the Premarin was causing endometrial hyperplasia, which was placing these women at high risk of endometrial cancer. It was then that they developed Prempro, which adds progestins to the mix, and supposedly reduces these risks.
Avatar n tn Can I use Premarin cream along with a yeast medication(Diflucan)? Does the moisture in the Premarin cream keep a yeast infection from healing?
691935 tn?1421027090 Well, that stinks. Sorry this is such a hard adjustment for you. Does your doctor have any supplementation ideas? You don't want cancer . . . so if the risk increases greatly, that is reason to get off the premarin but I'm sure your body is craving the hormone! Hope you are doing okay. Oh, and I have ringing and the sound issue in my ears from time to time. I have inner ear tube dysfunction. I've had it long before menopause and my hormonal issues.
Avatar f tn Pretty disgusting, if you ask me. You can read all about it on the ASPCA sight. They were instrumental in getting some of the Wyeth (the makers) suppliers shut down. Wyeth was actually sued.
Avatar n tn If the premarin cream causes a yeast infection should I stop useing it(the premarin cream) or keep useing it. I read somewhere that you should continue useing it to get rid of the yeast infection. I am a bit confused.

Avatar n tn I was prescribed Premarin daily which I took for the next 15 year until the scare of it being direclty involved in the cause of some breast cancers. I stopped immediately. I have fought the battle of hot flashes for the past 6 years and they are starting to taper off. I am now 61 years old. But I have have an increasing problem with hair loss. I have been told it could be due to the anesthesia that I was given for several surgeries or the lack of Estrogen.
Avatar f tn I read your post and saw that you said you've been on Premarin, which is not the best way to do it. All the research putting down hrt was done using Premarin as the hormones. It's just not a good thing to be taking. You can get shots of estrogen, not Premarin, and they don't have the side effects. Anyway, talk to a pro.
Avatar n tn The need for more meds is likely due to premarin (estrogen binds thyroid hormone and increases the amount of replacement meds needed in many patients). The symptoms are mixed and may be more menopausal than thyroid.
2176548 tn?1340677817 Yes that is a side effect for sure with the Lupron. Premarin I wasnt on it long enough as it was causing me yeast infections. I will have to do some research on the Medroxy one. Do you know if its a progesterone based drug?
Avatar f tn 9 mg, and at first it helped for the first few days, the hot flashes went away, slept better but then the insomnia returned. I stuck it out at the higher dose for three weeks, and could not stand sleeping only a few hours per night. I don't understand how I can do so well for seven months on the .625 mg and then suddenly it stopped working for me? And if I go to the higher level, I seem to be too reved up for sleep but helps hot flashes. I'm very confused and hoping somebody can help me.
535822 tn?1443976780 The New York Post today has said that there is a push for the 9/11 Trial to go to Govenor's Island , A lower Manhatton Community board called on fed officails yesterday to move the trail of the terrorists to Govenor's Island and passed a resolution demanding the shift, in a hearing with Downtown Residents who loathe the idea of the threats that would ensue and the lockdown it would involve, this makes sense to me , what say you ....
Avatar n tn I thought maybe the Premarin causing the T4 to be high was the reason they keep cutting the Synthroid back, hoping that my TSH will improve. I will ask for the free T4 and T3 test, as you mentioned if that's what I need. Thank you again.
1367840 tn?1278194075 I had a total hysterectomy 20 years ago in my early 30's. I have been on Premarin since....625mg. At 52, do I need to continue the pills? I figure I'm at or close to being menopausal. Thanks!
771665 tn?1235155092 Does the majority of cortisol store itself in the omentum and if so, does it also store itself in the fat of our breasts too? If PTSD and/or smoking, drinking, drugs (over eating?) and (too much or too little?) can deregulate the HPA process (‘top to bottom’) and our immune system shuts down during a ‘fight or flight’ episode, is it possible with a deregulated HPA response our immune system is told by the brain to go on stand by for the duration of the fight or flight episode.
Avatar f tn Clotrimazole gel is a topical antifungal cream. You can use it at different times of the day like one in the morning and one at night. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn nt count for much because I am not a Dr. There is no way I would take Premarin. There have been too many women in my life who have taken it and had problems. You do not have to take this med. There are many others out there to choose from if you and your Dr decide you need one.
1194973 tn?1385503904 That being said estrogen in your body thins the uterus out, and is the hormone kicked in for AF to come, then in your luteal ohase the progesterone kicks in for O and thickens the uterine walls so baby can attach. I know many woman who's breastmilk deminishes some during that time of the month and I also know that when you O is the highest time yoru milk will or can drop some for a day or two.
