Avatar n tn I got my first period at 14, and between then and now, have lost it several times for a year or longer. In high school, I was put on Premarin and a few other pills, none of which had any effect. At 21, I finally began birth control (my mom was very opposed to this for the health risks, which is why I didn't start it sooner). I had a great experience - no side effects, and my periods were finally regular, even while at a lower weight.
Avatar n tn When I was 18 years old I was put on premarin. A couple of months later I saw what I thought was my period for like 3 days, after that never saw it again. I haven't benn to a doctor ever again. Am I damaged goods? What should I do?
778044 tn?1299542934 Has anyone used Premarin to help jump start their period? And if so, how long did it take? I am on it for 25 days (Premarin) and then starting the aygestin after the 16th day.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed for missed abortion last May 17,2008 (as seen in the Ultrasound, the baby has no heart beat) i was administered a premarin 0.62 mg every 6 hours, the doctor said to soften the cervix as well as cytotec 200 mg every 8 hours. I was wondering why i should be given premarin? I have read that premarin is mainly estrogen.. Do i need to continuously use this product? They are waiting for me to bleed for them to be able to perform the D&C. Please advise asap...
Avatar n tn If you have not had your period for very long, it is not unusual to go for long periods of time without one. It will take a year or two (sometimes longer) for your period to regulate itself. I remember even after four years sometimes I would still skip a month and then have double or triple periods the next month. Sometimes it also has to do with stress. Just practice some relaxing techniques a few times a week. :) I think you will be okay.
Avatar f tn Do I need to continue taking Premarin .0625 or can I discontinue since I am past meopause age.
Avatar m tn I took the 1/2 pill with great caution as my mom took premarin for many years and ended up with breast cancer which eventually took her life 5 years ago). I have been tortured since stopping my premarin regime. I don't think I have had a full nights sleep since - in fact last evening the first wake up was at 3:38 and then I had 5 more flashes before I finally got out of bed and started my day with more flashes. My gen practioner has suggested prozac ... sorry but that seems a bit severe.
Avatar f tn I was placed on Premarin immediately after the surgery. I suffer from Hashimotos autoimmune disease for many years and was diagnosed last year with Lupus after suffering many years with leukopenia which was caused by the Lupus or the Premarin. I took myself off of Premarin in July 2016 and I feel so much better. My hair is now growing back after losing about 3/4 of it during a Lupus flare-up that lasted over 7 months. My muscle aches are gone and my blood counts are now registering normal.
Avatar f tn If I do , shuld I use a back up method or is breastfeeding really reliable as birth control wen yu follow the lactational amenorrhea method which I am ?
Avatar f tn I finally convinced my gp doctor to check my hormone levels and according to the nurse they came back normal. My gp doctor had already prescribed Premarin for me to take at .3mg. daily. I have not had a hysterectomy. He did not prescribe any type of progesterone for me to take but told me to go ahead and take the Premarin. Advised me that I should see a gyn--which I already did and they did not test my hormones at all. I have terrible hot flashes every day, insomnia, anxiety and mood changes.
Avatar n tn It is also found when pregnancy occurs or when is breast feeding. Otherwise it is secondary amenorrhea. Secondary amenorrhea is when a woman who has had normal menstrual cycles stops getting her monthly period for 3 or more months. Causes of secondary amenorrhea include stress and anxiety, malnutrition, depression, overexercising, sudden weight loss or gain (obesity),thyroid disorders and hormonal imbalance due to polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS).
Avatar n tn Well I can say from my experience I can't use Premarin because it causes yeast infections for me. I think you can take the pill Diflucan do get rid of the yeast infection but don't be surprised that it is persistent and wont go away. I would call the pharmacy to make sure as I am not a doctor but I know I would use both but I also would ask.
Avatar n tn I do know that periods can stop if you have lost a significant amount of weight and/or are exercising more than may be good for your body. Today there is such an emphasis on being thin, particularly for young women. Your body needs a certain amount of weight in order to be functioning fully. When you have diabetes, it is natural to be concerned about the food you eat and exercise.
Avatar n tn I am 20 years old and have not had a period for almost a year. I have seen a doctor about this and have been tested for many things including thyroid disorders, pituitary problems genetic tests and hormone imbalances. I have somewhat low estrogen (29) for my age and somewhat high FSH (18). I do not have any other issues than these either. I don't know if this will definitely lead me to early menopause and other health problems or if not having a period really isn't that big of a deal.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone! I have not had my period exactly for 3 months. I had sex with my boyfriend without penetration.. I doubted about pregnancy and went to ultrasound twice and did many home tests but all came negative. Gyn said that my uterus is smaller than normal..(40/30/38) . Could i still be pregnant? I am not planning and i cant have baby now, so i am terribly afraid.. She gave me a drug and said to wait for period in 12 days.. It is 6th day today but have no any of premenstrual syndrome..
691935 tn?1421027090 My doctor has instructed me to stop taking Premarin because of my age of 65 years due to cancer risks. I also learned that by turning 65 (in the U.S.) insurance will no longer cover. As with most women related issues, we don't count. I started Premarin after a total hysterectomy at age 35. Anyway, I'm experiencing heart palpitations, heat ache, body aches, night sweats, and loud ringing in the ears.
Avatar n tn If the premarin cream causes a yeast infection should I stop useing it(the premarin cream) or keep useing it. I read somewhere that you should continue useing it to get rid of the yeast infection. I am a bit confused.
Avatar f tn Will premarin and hrt help with the anxiety that comes along with menopause? I cannot seem to get a straight answer from researching it on the net. I'm desperate for help.
Avatar f tn Secondary amenorrhea is when a woman who has had normal menstrual cycles stops getting her monthly period for 3 or more months. Causes of secondary amenorrhea include stress and anxiety, malnutrition, depression, overexercising, sudden weight loss or gain (obesity),thyroid disorders and hormonal imbalance due to polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS).Smoking is also associated with secondary amenorrhea. Sometimes tumors of the ovaries and brain may also cause absence of menstruation.
Avatar f tn You had a hyster for an ovarian cyst? Was it cancerous? Was there another reason why they gave you the hyster? Have you had an ultrasound done recently? It is possible to have Ovarian remnant syndrome and a cyst has grown back hence the weight gain however it could be something totally different. Are you having any abdominal issues?
Avatar f tn Also not having periods after a pregnancy could be due to secondary amenorrhea or absence of periods/menstruation due to some thing. The first thing to check for is pregnancy, so take a pregnancy test and see. You could have conceived any time in the three years post pregnancy if you are ovulating. If urine test is negative, go for blood HCG estimation. If this is not the case, then other causes will have to be looked into. Stress and anxiety is a major factor.
