If you are filling up a pad within a few hours it would be a good idea to see your gyn. Sometimes different birth control pills can help regulate. If the endometrium is very thick it may require a D and C. The dr can prescribe medications such as megace to control the bleeding if severe for a short time. I have also seen IV Premarin given in the ER for severe bleeding. Just stay away from aspirin or other anticoagulants if they are not prescribed for a medical condition.
Hi I am 35 years old, I had a hysterectomy and right oophorectomy in 2003, I then had my left ovary out in 2007 and was at first put on the hormone patch, I had extensive history of endometriosis and numerous treatments such as Zolodex, continual usage of birth control pills and laproscopic surgeries. I was told by my doctor that after I had my left ovary out I should have no more pain.
I was diagnosed for missed abortion last May 17,2008 (as seen in the Ultrasound,the baby has no heart beat) i was administered a premarin 0.62 mg every 6 hours, the doctor said to soften the cervix as well as cytotec 200 mg every 8 hours. I was wondering why i should be given premarin? I have read that premarin is mainly estrogen.. Do i need to continuously use this product? They are waiting for me to bleed for them to be able to perform the D&C. Please advise asap...
Do I need to continue taking Premarin .0625 or can I discontinue since I am past meopause age.
I took the 1/2 pill with great caution as my mom took premarin for many years and ended up with breast cancer which eventually took her life 5 years ago). I have been tortured since stopping my premarin regime. I don't think I have had a full nights sleep since - in fact last evening the first wake up was at 3:38 and then I had 5 more flashes before I finally got out of bed and started my day with more flashes. My gen practioner has suggested prozac ... sorry but that seems a bit severe.
I suffer from Hashimotos autoimmune disease for many years and was diagnosed last year with Lupus after suffering many years with leukopenia which was caused by the Lupus or the Premarin. I took myself off of Premarin in July 2016 and I feel so much better. My hair is now growing back after losing about 3/4 of it during a Lupus flare-up that lasted over 7 months. My muscle aches are gone and my blood counts are now registering normal.

I had a total hysterectomy 20 years ago. I was prescribed Premarin daily which I took for the next 15 year until the scare of it being direclty involved in the cause of some breast cancers. I stopped immediately. I have fought the battle of hot flashes for the past 6 years and they are starting to taper off. I am now 61 years old. But I have have an increasing problem with hair loss.

Really did not know what to put down as a "topic". We ( husbad & I ) have been happily married since 1978. WE always has a GREAT sex life. Back in 2005, I had a horrible car accident & was left for dead by the Other person. Woke up 4 days later & thought it was 1979 ( th elast time I was in the hospital when I gave birth to my son ) Both my husband & best g/f were with me. Never the less, we haven't had intercourse since I was 50. I am 56 now & dearly miss it.
Hi i have been on birth control almost 6 months now. And i bleed for 2 weeks every period. The first week its just a brown mild red spotting because im still on birth control and then the second week when im on the brown pill is when i actually get the full on effect of my period. Today i got my period again and im still not done with my normal birth control so i decided to skip to the brown pills this week and start a new pack once my brown pills are done.
Can I get birth control without having an exam? I want birth control to regulate my period. I have never been sexually active but my period can go for 5-9 days not heavy or light flowing. It also has a range of 21-30 days in between periods. I do NOT like to be touched and have never had a successful relationship because of it.
