Common Questions and Answers about Premarin applicator

premarin

Avatar m tn She said that when she tries to use Premarin the applicator will not enter for her. I also tried a vibrator with lube. I can maybe get one finger in her vagina. 63 year old and we do not want to give up on intimacy.
Avatar f tn For some reason I have had difficulty remembering to take it on the exact day I should, but have still been using the medicine. Now my vagina feels tight when I insert the applicator and I have bleeding the next day. Also, since the time I had this surgery, I was hospitalized for very low blood potassium & sodium levels for 4 days and I have had carpal tunnel release surgery.
Avatar n tn If you are post menopause, then I would suggest premarin vaginal cream (1/2 applicator per vagina every evening for a month, then once a week). This is ultimately a very low dose of hormone and does not require any progesterone nor does it even approach estrogen replacement. Very low risk, but I would certainly recommend a pelvic exam and breast exam/mammogram before starting. If you are not menopausal, you can use pyridium daily, 100-200 mg. tablets up to 3 per day.
Avatar f tn So I got prescribed a vaginal cream it comes with one applicator I'm not sure if the applicator is safe during pregnancy how far does the applicator go & how much do I put into the tube or can I just put it on my finger? Help !
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed for missed abortion last May 17,2008 (as seen in the Ultrasound, the baby has no heart beat) i was administered a premarin 0.62 mg every 6 hours, the doctor said to soften the cervix as well as cytotec 200 mg every 8 hours. I was wondering why i should be given premarin? I have read that premarin is mainly estrogen.. Do i need to continuously use this product? They are waiting for me to bleed for them to be able to perform the D&C. Please advise asap...
Avatar f tn Do I need to continue taking Premarin .0625 or can I discontinue since I am past meopause age.
778044 tn?1299542934 Has anyone used Premarin to help jump start their period? And if so, how long did it take? I am on it for 25 days (Premarin) and then starting the aygestin after the 16th day.
Avatar f tn Your tissues are so dry that they cut and bleed with any friction. Luckily, there is a remedy. A vaginal estrogen pill (Vagifem) or cream (Premarin) can be inserted into the vagina on a regular basis and it will help rebuild the tissue and prevent this type of dryness. I personally prefer Vagifem because it is less messy and each comes in its own applicator. You will still need to use something like Astroglide duirng intercourse to have even better results.
Avatar f tn Are you sure the applicator is not meant for one-time use only? I use the Crinone gel and each dose is enclosed in one disposable (one-time-use) applicator. For safety, these are not meant to be reused as you could inadvertently give yourself an infection. My understanding is the regular waxy progesterone suppositories do not come with an applicator as you just insert them with your finger.
Avatar m tn it depends which ones you would prefer to use, Tampax have the applicator and Kotex you just insert yourself. Since you haven't used them before I would opt for Tampax, since the applicator makes it easier to insert if you're not used to doing it...it can be strange at first and so the applicator ensures that it is inserted properly.
Avatar m tn I took the 1/2 pill with great caution as my mom took premarin for many years and ended up with breast cancer which eventually took her life 5 years ago). I have been tortured since stopping my premarin regime. I don't think I have had a full nights sleep since - in fact last evening the first wake up was at 3:38 and then I had 5 more flashes before I finally got out of bed and started my day with more flashes. My gen practioner has suggested prozac ... sorry but that seems a bit severe.
Avatar f tn I had one at about 15 wks and I went to my dr and they gave me a cream that you put in with an applicator. They told me if I got another one I could use the monistat 7 day cream with the applicator or the 3 day. They just advise that you don't stick the applicator all the way in. Check with your doctor and they'll tell you what is best for you! Good luck!
Avatar f tn I suffer from Hashimotos autoimmune disease for many years and was diagnosed last year with Lupus after suffering many years with leukopenia which was caused by the Lupus or the Premarin. I took myself off of Premarin in July 2016 and I feel so much better. My hair is now growing back after losing about 3/4 of it during a Lupus flare-up that lasted over 7 months. My muscle aches are gone and my blood counts are now registering normal.
Avatar f tn Then they noticed that cases of endometrial cancer among Premarin users were going through the roof - the Premarin was causing endometrial hyperplasia, which was placing these women at high risk of endometrial cancer. It was then that they developed Prempro, which adds progestins to the mix, and supposedly reduces these risks.
Avatar n tn Can I use Premarin cream along with a yeast medication(Diflucan)? Does the moisture in the Premarin cream keep a yeast infection from healing?
691935 tn?1421027090 My doctor has instructed me to stop taking Premarin because of my age of 65 years due to cancer risks. I also learned that by turning 65 (in the U.S.) insurance will no longer cover. As with most women related issues, we don't count. I started Premarin after a total hysterectomy at age 35. Anyway, I'm experiencing heart palpitations, heat ache, body aches, night sweats, and loud ringing in the ears.
Avatar f tn Has anyone experienced one while pregnant? I'm 37 weeks and have one for the first time. My ob-gyn prescribed a vaginal ointment for 7 days. It didn't say how far to insert the applicator, but I'm assuming as far as you can to get the medicine in. Has anyone used this? If so, how far did you insert applicator? It's just kinda freaking me out a little bit.
Avatar f tn I have a yeast infection and my OB told me to get Monistat. I got the day 1 prefilled applicator. I read the directions & warnings several times before putting in the applicator and it didn't say can't use while pregnant, but when I googled it, it said it's category C by the FDA for pregnant women... I'm confused... Has anyone used it while pregnant? I'm 35 weeks.
Avatar n tn If the premarin cream causes a yeast infection should I stop useing it(the premarin cream) or keep useing it. I read somewhere that you should continue useing it to get rid of the yeast infection. I am a bit confused.
Avatar f tn Will premarin and hrt help with the anxiety that comes along with menopause? I cannot seem to get a straight answer from researching it on the net. I'm desperate for help.
Avatar m tn But she came back with the ovule (tablet) monistat that you insert with the one applicator and cream ( 7 day treatment) I used it last night no troubles but the applicator was hard to get in even though I have used tampons before which are bigger.
Avatar f tn One week before I got mono (5 days prior to first feeling achy and tired) I tried on some lip gloss at a sephora. I tried it on with an individual applicator but there is a chance I used the gloss applicator and not a disposable. It was a saturday 1.5 hours after the store opened. I actually thought better of it immediately and wiped it off my lips thinking that someone may have still contaminated the gloss by redipping or using the product applicator itself rather than the disposables. 1.
Avatar m tn I was not paying attention and all of a sudden I seen him dabbing a liquid applicator on my neck to stop the bleeding. I am very concerned and I have not been able to sleep, I am worried if the blade has blood on it from a previous person or if the applicator he used has blood on it from a previous person I can get infected with Hep A,B,C or even HIV. What should I do?? In 2006 I had a hep B shot and in 2008 had blood work done and it came back I am immune to hep B. Should I be concerned???

Avatar n tn I had a total hysterectomy 20 years ago. I was prescribed Premarin daily which I took for the next 15 year until the scare of it being direclty involved in the cause of some breast cancers. I stopped immediately. I have fought the battle of hot flashes for the past 6 years and they are starting to taper off. I am now 61 years old. But I have have an increasing problem with hair loss.
Avatar n tn I have been reading about Premarin and it can likely cause the problem. I would like to get off Premarin and take a natural hormone replacement, or should I stay on the Premarin. What do you think about that and just how do I do that? I know I shouldn't just quit taking it suddenly.
Avatar f tn Fill the applicator up with the cream, lay down, & insert it. Put a pad on because it will come out a bit. It's best to do before bed.
