long term use of topical steroids is never a good thing. it actually will thin your skin and make you more prone to infections and tearing :( definitely if you are still having symptoms and are needing to use topical steroids, follow up again.
were you tested for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally at all during all of this?
what prompted them to prescribe premarin cream - just the irritation?

Hello - I am 59 and have atrophic vaginitis. There is an area in the (introitus?) that has almost no skin covering due to the thinning tissue. It burns terribly all the time. I have had numerous vaginal infections over the past few months including gardnerella, a yeast inf., & 2 cultures showed large amounts of enterococcus faecalis & klebsiella.
I don't want to quote anything I've read, but after putting in "Premarin and Hypothyroidism" and "Progesterone and Hypothyroidism", the articles I've read indicate that Premarin prevents the thyroid from working properly, and Progesterone cream is beneficial. I just wanted to mention this because it may be of help. I am going to look into it further myself.
ve been going to see my ob/gyn about this problem for years now. He tells me that the vaginal walls are thinning because of my age and the menopause, so he prescribed Premarin. I started using it then I stopped because it didn't seem to make a whole lot of difference at first. Then I went bakc to him with the same symptoms he told me that I needed to stay on the Premarin for at least a month to see how that would work. I did that with some improvement but not a whole lot.
It has taken care of the flashes and sweats even better than the Premarin had, and unlike the Premarin, it has really helped with my mood swings, depression and other emotional issues.

in 84 and was on vivelle patch for most of those years. Just estrogen and no progesterone. I was fine until a few years ago and it just got worse. I became so estrogen dominant and became a total mess. I went to a very good hormone imbalance seminar a few days ago and it was great. I think if you went off, you'll regret it in time. There are so many symptoms with low or no hormone production.
I was diagnosed for missed abortion last May 17,2008 (as seen in the Ultrasound,the baby has no heart beat) i was administered a premarin 0.62 mg every 6 hours, the doctor said to soften the cervix as well as cytotec 200 mg every 8 hours. I was wondering why i should be given premarin? I have read that premarin is mainly estrogen.. Do i need to continuously use this product? They are waiting for me to bleed for them to be able to perform the D&C. Please advise asap...
I have a good idea. that it sounds like you need some estrogen,,Do you feel that you could possibly be just slightly depressed? I felt a bit like you describe until I took. or rather used a estrogen patch..Estrogen is available in many foms ,,lotions. body mist,,vaginal pellets,,,I like the patch its small acurate and easy to use...Please use bio identical..Premarin the "old-fashioned " estrogen is actually made from horses urine..
The pain got much worse and I was not feeling myself so I stopped taking the premerin and opted to try a product I found on line called Amberen, so far that isnt doinganything for the hot flashes and night sweats at all but since stopping the premarin my legs are not bothering. I am taking calcium pills for my bones but I am truly worried for my health and want to find the best options for me.
I took the 1/2 pill with great caution as my mom took premarin for many years and ended up with breast cancer which eventually took her life 5 years ago). I have been tortured since stopping my premarin regime. I don't think I have had a full nights sleep since - in fact last evening the first wake up was at 3:38 and then I had 5 more flashes before I finally got out of bed and started my day with more flashes. I suffer from Hashimotos autoimmune disease for many years and was diagnosed last year with Lupus after suffering many years with leukopenia which was caused by the Lupus or the Premarin. I took myself off of Premarin in July 2016 and I feel so much better. My hair is now growing back after losing about 3/4 of it during a Lupus flare-up that lasted over 7 months. My muscle aches are gone and my blood counts are now registering normal.
He did not prescribe any type of progesterone for me to take but told me to go ahead and take the Premarin. Advised me that I should see a gyn--which I already did and they did not test my hormones at all. I have terrible hot flashes every day, insomnia, anxiety and mood changes. All of which I thought was monopause. I don't know what to do. I am so scared and confused. I had an echocardigram done and the cardiologist said there were some abnormalities.
Can I use Premarin cream along with a yeast medication(Diflucan)? Does the moisture in the Premarin cream keep a yeast infection from healing?
It seems odd to follow fibroid surgery with estrogen HRT (premarin and estrone are both types of estrogen) since estrogen causes fibroids to grow...
You should call your doctor and ask when your period should start.
I'm surprised your doctor did not tell you to use protection (condom, diaphragm) until you are ready to get pregnant since Premarin does not prevent pregnancy...

So he gave me Provera 10mg for 10 days and tells me to stop taking Premarin. Two weeks later I come back for sonogram, and the findings above is what I see on the paperwork, but, the doctor comes in and says.,have you ever had a biopsy of the uterus? I said I don't think so, he says I would like to do one, your uterus is large and we wanna make sure you don't have pc, or uterine cancer?
You had a hyster for an ovarian cyst? Was it cancerous? Was there another reason why they gave you the hyster? Have you had an ultrasound done recently? It is possible to have Ovarian remnant syndrome and a cyst has grown back hence the weight gain however it could be something totally different. Are you having any abdominal issues?
My husband & I have been married for 35 years. I'm 56, he is 58. I am so frightened to have intercourse, we haven't had any intercourse since I was 50. Mind you, I take care of my husband's needs, I'm starting to feel as though I need to have a release, climax. I have heard w/age, women's skin gets very thin and I am scared of ripping myself. My husband can be gentle with me, anymore I'm at a loss. I'd LOVE to be able to resume our once great sex life.
