premarin

Avatar f tn I was suppose to go for exporitory surgery for the mass that was found on my right ovary but they found it to be cancer and opted, with my consent, to do a total hysterectomy. My doctor, who is a OB/GYN, preformed the surgery and after placed me on Premarin. I was worried after finding out all the health issues around premerin, especially the blood clots, since my mom died of that several years after her hysterectomy.

Avatar n tn I had a total hysterectomy 20 years ago. I was prescribed Premarin daily which I took for the next 15 year until the scare of it being direclty involved in the cause of some breast cancers. I stopped immediately. I have fought the battle of hot flashes for the past 6 years and they are starting to taper off. I am now 61 years old. But I have have an increasing problem with hair loss.
Avatar m tn I took the 1/2 pill with great caution as my mom took premarin for many years and ended up with breast cancer which eventually took her life 5 years ago). I have been tortured since stopping my premarin regime. I don't think I have had a full nights sleep since - in fact last evening the first wake up was at 3:38 and then I had 5 more flashes before I finally got out of bed and started my day with more flashes. My gen practioner has suggested prozac ... sorry but that seems a bit severe.
Avatar n tn I never seemed to do well on it years ago and I did better with premarin though I had lots of headaches. I had my hysterectomy uterus and ovaries removed in 2012. I took just premarin until 2015 and then stopped. I quit the estradoil and earlier this week I went back to my old Gyn and told him about the symptoms I am having. Insomnia is the worst, anxiety, depression. He put me back on premarin .625. I have been taking this for three days now.
Avatar f tn I suffer from Hashimotos autoimmune disease for many years and was diagnosed last year with Lupus after suffering many years with leukopenia which was caused by the Lupus or the Premarin. I took myself off of Premarin in July 2016 and I feel so much better. My hair is now growing back after losing about 3/4 of it during a Lupus flare-up that lasted over 7 months. My muscle aches are gone and my blood counts are now registering normal.
Avatar f tn I am scheduled to have a hysterectomy soon. The doctor wants to take my ovaries. My mom and both of her sisters have had hysterectomy's. My mother and 1 aunt had early onset of Alzheimers. both took premarin. I have read and studied that HRT's like premarin have a high risk of dementia and heart disease? since my dad had heart disease and most of his siblings and family have had heart problems I am worried. I have Endometrosis and also prolapsed Uteris.
691935 tn?1421027090 My doctor has instructed me to stop taking Premarin because of my age of 65 years due to cancer risks. I also learned that by turning 65 (in the U.S.) insurance will no longer cover. As with most women related issues, we don't count. I started Premarin after a total hysterectomy at age 35. Anyway, I'm experiencing heart palpitations, heat ache, body aches, night sweats, and loud ringing in the ears.
Avatar f tn So, she said that doing LEEP or crytology is not an option. She gave me Premarin Cream to use 3 times weekly and wants me to come back in June for a repeat paap smear. Any ideas on alternate treatment?
Avatar m tn I am 43 and had a full hysterectomy 6 weeks ago but prior to that was having menopause symptoms. I went on the Vivelle hormone replacement patch the day of surgery and everything went away. Even all my menopausal symptoms prior to my surgery. I don't have any issues at all.
Avatar f tn He did not prescribe any type of progesterone for me to take but told me to go ahead and take the Premarin. Advised me that I should see a gyn--which I already did and they did not test my hormones at all. I have terrible hot flashes every day, insomnia, anxiety and mood changes. All of which I thought was monopause. I don't know what to do. I am so scared and confused. I had an echocardigram done and the cardiologist said there were some abnormalities.
Avatar n tn So he gave me Provera 10mg for 10 days and tells me to stop taking Premarin. Two weeks later I come back for sonogram, and the findings above is what I see on the paperwork, but, the doctor comes in and says.,have you ever had a biopsy of the uterus? I said I don't think so, he says I would like to do one, your uterus is large and we wanna make sure you don't have pc, or uterine cancer?

Avatar f tn Hello: hoping somebody can help me. I have been on Premarin.625mg for 7 months and did very well. Before that, I had tried everything else with very little improvement. Before Premarin I was having hot flashes, anxiety, and terrible insomnia. After the first few days of taking Premarin, I began to notice great improvement. My hot flashes went away and insomnia disappeared. I had a few bumps along the way but then everything balanced out. Now, the old symptoms have returned with a vengeance.

Avatar f tn Hello, Premarin is basically used for atrophic vaginitis and kraurosis vulvae which is a cutaneous condition characterized by atrophy and shrinkage of the skin of the vagina and vulva. Clotrimazole gel is a topical antifungal cream. You can use it at different times of the day like one in the morning and one at night. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
718868 tn?1230730029 m dealing with. I am 26 years old and after having my daughter in 2003, I had to have a hysterectomy due to complications from endometriosis after going into labor. I was left with 1 ovary which for sometime hasn't been working properly. I'm currently taking Premarin 1.25 mg for my hormonal issues but it isn't helping very much. Avatar f tn I am a 62 year old woman G3P3 . I had a total hysterectomy with BSO. I have been on estrogen replacement since my surgery in 1998. I still have moderate-severe hot flashes and they seem to be getting more intense with age. I switched from oral Premarin which covered me pretty well but I didn't want to be taking pills the rest of my life. Since then I have tried a variety of patches that are really not very effective on a regular basis and very expensive. At my age, what do you recommend.
Avatar f tn You had a hyster for an ovarian cyst? Was it cancerous? Was there another reason why they gave you the hyster? Have you had an ultrasound done recently? It is possible to have Ovarian remnant syndrome and a cyst has grown back hence the weight gain however it could be something totally different. Are you having any abdominal issues?
771665 tn?1235155092 Jan 6/09, Due to difficulty with dysfunctional brain (no hormones) oncologist started 0.625 mg Premarin with Tamoxifen. I noticed a steady increase of hard bowel movements and bloating in my abdomen/pelvis. Feb 17/09 (43 days later) my CA125 count was 220. I am awaiting results of ultra sound taken on Feb18th and a CT scan on my abdomen next week. Why would the CA125 count suddenly rise to 220 during the 43 days of taking the Premarin and Tamoxifen? Thank you for your answer.
Avatar n tn I have a low heart rate and have a lot of trouble losing weight, but I have had a problem being really hot during the day and I wake up at night sweating really bad. I had a hysterectomy 16 months ago and I take Premarin but it hasn't stopped my hot spells. I read where Graves disease will cause this but i really don't have the symptoms of that.
Avatar n tn In 2012 I was 39 and had a hysterectomy ovaries removed. My Dr put me on premarin and said he wanted me on it for 10 years. I took it for only 2 and quit. I don't know why. I hadn't had any problems until a few months ago. Insomnia is bad, sweats at night, anxiety, moodiness and low depression. Now I'm wanting to see about getting back on it. I'm 45 now. Any advise? Has anyone done this?
8725523 tn?1399590462 I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with either Osphena or Premarin vagnal cream? I had a total hysterectomy at 28yrs old and have been taking hormone replacement ever since. I am now 41. I suffer from numerous migraines a month and am concerned about taking the oral option for fear of increased migraines d/t the estrogen.
