Pramipexole parkinson's disease

Common Questions and Answers about Pramipexole parkinson's disease

mirapex

Avatar n tn It might be restless leg syndrome. RLS is most likely to involve lower extremities but can involve other body parts as well. I got a bad case of it towards the end of my last tx, 48 weeks of triple tx with Incivek. The RLS hit me at about week 36 and continued until about a week after I quit the meds. My internist prescribed a small dose of Pramipexole (a Parkinson's drug) for it but I hated the way it made me feel.
273955 tn?1196448802 Hello. Your symptoms are too many to be explained by Parkinson's disease only. Parkinson’s disease can co-exist with MS. But there are rare cases of both the disease affecting a person simultaneously. The tremors could be one of the neurological symptoms of MS. The tremors of PD are called as "pill-rolling" tremors. They are about 4-6 Hz in frequency. You can try to count the frequency of tremors. The MRI of the brain in PD is mostly normal.
Avatar f tn Any suggestions on holistic approach to Tx. Parkinson's Disease? What are some MJFox's alleviating PD method?
Avatar f tn Hi Cessy and welcome to our little MS community, Diagnosis Parkinson's in a someone in their 30's would generally be classed as early onset Parkinson's and because of the rarity of Parkinson's for that age group, misdiagnoses would definitely be a possibility. I've actually read statistics that put the misdiagnosis rate as high as 1 in 5 in general for Parkinson's.
Avatar n tn Re my inquiry March 19th regarding a75 year old female whose head bobbed almost constantly at times, you replied it might indicate Parkinson's Disease and asked if there were any other symtons such as trembling of the hands. Trembling of the hands is not really noticeable but I did observe when she was holding a sheet of paper a slight movement.
Avatar m tn https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11970808 is someone's habit learning ability affected by parkinson's disease? I think the comment in this link is saying that it was affected initially but they were still able to learn habits despite having Parkinson's; is that right?
Avatar f tn What i need to know is the muscle stiffness and also feeling of weakness and instability in the legs due to pituitary disorder or Parkinson's? How do i go about ascertaining this, could it be due to all the above? I have severe insomnia and generally feel very unwell, very tired, unable to walk far. I am a 56 yr old female who is/was a fitness freak, marathon runner and avid golfer, none of which i can do now.
Avatar f tn m going to have to go through my supplements and meds. The only new med is the Pramipexole .05 twice a day (Mirapex). The supplements are Sam-E, D 2000, A and Magnesium 250 twice a day. I'm going to cut the Pramipexole to once a day. Does anyone see if any one of these would cause this or is there a virus going around?
Avatar n tn Hi, Parkinson's disease is a chronic, progressive neurodegenerative movement disorder. Tremors, rigidity, slow movement (bradykinesia), poor balance, and difficulty walking (called parkinsonian gait) are characteristic primary symptoms of Parkinson's disease. There is no particular age for the occurance of the disease . There have been cases diagnosed with the disease at the age of 18. Please consult a neurologist for further details .
Avatar m tn Has anyone tried Pramipexole (Mirapex, Mirapexin, Sifrol) for chronic pain? I have had low back pain for about 15 years now. I finally got someone to do an MRI back in June (I think, it was slightly before summer 2016) and they found a herniated disc at L4-L5 and a degenerated disc at L5-S1. The neurosurgeon decided surgery wasn't worth the risk and pain treatment was the best option.
Avatar f tn Has anyone used a patch? The only med I take is pramipexole.
Avatar n tn I really hate to say this, but those are early signs of Parkinson's Disease. I have listed the "checklist" of early warning signs below. I hope this is not the case, but the earlier it is diagnosed the better, When a reader of my blog asked about the early warning signs of Parkinson’s Disease (PD), I was caught off guard. I know what full-blown PD looks like, but I’d forgotten what PD might look like before it may even be diagnosed.
1192491 tn?1265031829 Currently, there is a generic available for Mirapex (Pramipexole) and it is made by TEVA pharmaceuticals. It comes in the 0.125mg, 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 1mg, and 1.5mg strength tablets.
Avatar f tn I've had many Parkinson's Disease symptoms lately such as tremors, loss of concentration, light-headedness, feeling unbalanced when I'm standing up, and slowed movements. I'm barely turning into a teen soon and am scared to tell my parents. I don't know for sure if I do have Parkinson's because I haven't gone to the doctor about it or talked about it with my family. I would really appreciate any advice and help with this matter. Thank you.
Avatar n tn Is it possible that I have Parkinson's all these years? No never been tested..
Avatar m tn Hello, I'm am 29 years old, and i seem to be going through something wierd in my life, it all started with twitch in my middle finger, it soon progressed into a slight tremor in my left hand, i noticed it when I was drinking a beer.
Avatar f tn If parkinson's disease runs in my family, exactly what does that mean? My grandmother's sister on my mom's side had it, and my Rhuemy said that I have a tremor that is probably worse on my right side. How much of a chance do I have of having the disease. I am 41.
Avatar n tn I am 79 years old and in good health. However, for about a year I have had problems in balance in spite of daily walks and a long period of physical therapy. Do I have Parkinson's disease, in spite of none of the 'classic' signs, and would one of the dopamine derivatives do me any good? Am I developing a "neural disease?" My parents lived over 100 years and neither died of dimentia or Alzheimer's.
Avatar n tn The latest research on pathogenesis of disease can be a prior head injury. Exposture to toxins, and Parkinson's disease causes neuropsychiatric disturbances, which include mainly cognition, mood and behavior problems and can be as disabling as motor symptoms. I don't see any connection with PD and hypertension. Its a neurological disorder. Hypertension and high cholesterol is a cardiovascular disorder and are correlated. Thanks for your question...
410281 tn?1254229064 Does anyone really know anything about Parkinson's? The meds they put me on for my sleep disorders are parkinson's drugs. It's made me do a lot of research and, quite frankly, get a little bit scared. Stiff, sore, sleep disorders, twitching, jerking.....Not sure if I'm overreacting (as I usually do), but I'm sure nervous. Just wondered what y'all knew! Thanks!
Avatar m tn I went to see a N/S this past week and he said he thinks my problem may be that I have Parkinson's disease. He said my symptoms don't seem to be chiari related. He put me on medicine for Parkinson's. Has anyone else been told they had Parkinson's ? Now I have to go see a neurologist next month.Boy I tell it gets better all the time. I'm getting tired of seeing doctors. This will be number 4.
1084398 tn?1277304810 My dr. recently prescribed me Amantadine 100 mg 1 capsule everyday in the morning. It was prescribed for fatigue. I'm weary of taking it because on one of the fliers it said, causes skin cancer to people with Parkinson's Disease. Hmm. I have MS... recently diagnosed in October, not Parkinson's. This warning label just freaked me out. This is what the flier says, "People with Parkinson's disease may have an increased risk for developing skin cancer (melanoma).
