Thank you much for responding to my post, well I consume 120ml bottle of cough syrup in about 3 days, and yes I do want to quit both but do not see how is it possible......about any effects that I feel, i do not feel any side effects as of yet, but i know both these things are silent killers and must be doing something wrong in me somewhere...
I don't know if these are symptoms of a condition or side effects of some of my meds, so can someone help?
I take Norvasc, Altace, Lexapro, Crestor, AndroGel, Doxycycline Hyclate, and Advair 250/50. I have been on the first 4 for years. The last 3 have been added within the last several months. I also have Severe Sleep Apnea, but I use my APAP religiously. AHI is usually <4, but will on ocassion sneak up to 5.
t believe that consuming fruit with a high K diet alone would raise K values to the point of side effects. At the moment I am more interested in the magnesium deficiency/arrhythmia information that I have read about. There seems to be something to that side of the electrolyte balance. I asked my pharmacist and he recommended magnesium chloride supplement. I will try anything to avoid the palpitations.

I am unsure y u r trying to avoid potassium as it is one of the items lacking when u dehydrate...many with chiari may have low levels of magnesium and potassium.

I am not anemic so I lowered my iron dosage, continue to eat alot of fiber and water and I just make sure I set aside some time every morning after eating and having a warm drink to lay on my left side and massage my stomach going from my right side and down my left, where the descending colon is. Now I usually go every morning. Before it was like once a week! So I've seen alot of improvement, but not from stool softeners. Maybe you will have better luck with them tho!

You might want to try some supplements like Potassium and Magnesium. Many people suffer from cramps and spasms from a lack of these minerals.
They are available at drug stores.
You might want to talk to a doctor before using Potassium as it can cause problems if you take the wrong amount. - It is a salt substitute.
