Avatar n tn what is the difference between Potassium Chloride, Potassium Nitrate and Potassium Citrate?
Avatar f tn Magnesium citrate seems to be the best type to take, as magnesium oxide is mostly good as a laxative. Care must be taken not to let potassium get either too high or too low as they're dangerous, either way. Your doctor should test you periodically, to make sure you maintain adequate levels of all three of these nutrients so they stay in balance. You should talk to him to be sure that's in future plans as you shouldn't have to live in fear.
617141 tn?1225706428 Transfer was postponed till I get better. Doctor gave me Lasix 40 mg to be taken once and Neo-K (potassium chloride) 500 mg twice daily for 5 days for now. My concern is that I ate two potatoes, one banana, a cup of yogurt, and tomato, all potassium sources today.

1618806 tn?1304734477 Dash and Morton Salt Substitute (for example) which is loaded with Potassium Chloride. If you take the time to read the ingredients on ANY Ms. Dash flavors, you'll find nothing but herbs and spices, there's absolutely NO potassium chloride in it. Point of reference: http://www.mortonsalt.com/products/foodsalts/salt_sub.
Avatar n tn Potassium and Calcium and important electrolytes in muscles. Potassium is one of those electrolytes you dont really want to be messed up in your body. High potassium levels can cause heart dysrrhythmias, since your heart is a big muscle, Other signs of hyperkalemia(increased potassium) are nausea vomitting, restlessness, irritability, I am looking in my book right now to make sure i can give you the most accurate information. Chloride there is not much on.
Avatar f tn Hi, Has anyone taken magnesium supplements and noticed a big improvement in their SVT episodes? I've been thinking about taking them and seeing if it would make any difference. I'm not sure what kind to buy. I've read Magnesium Oxide doesn't absorb as easily as Magnesium Gluconate or Magonate (the liquid form). I am too afraid to have an ablation done so I am looking for help elsewhere. Any info you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Avatar f tn The only thing I have been able to find to help is lysozyme chloride but it has varying effect. Paracetamol is less helpful but helps at times. I am convinced that it is an auto immune response to the constantly elevated adrenalin but need help to find possible alternatives.my wige and son are both effected.
Avatar m tn m wondering if you can or can not use something like Lo Salt that has potassium chloride in it along with beta blockers, and if so how much is recommended. I'm looking to substitute lo salt for some other high in potassium foods in order to cut down on my sugar content.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone. For the past month or so I have been experiencing some weird symptoms and I'm not sure where it's stemming from. It started in late May. I am a college student and was stressed from finals, and noticed my hands and feet were tingling. I have never felt such a tingling before. I had no other symptoms at the time and it wasn't painful, just bizarre. I summed it up to stress since I am a high anxiety person and after a week it went away. Now in June I am worried.
Avatar f tn Can you tell me if the indication of change in a womens chloride level during her most fertile time of the month is directly related to the LH surge taking place? Or can you have changes in chloride levels and no LH surge? thanks!

237053 tn?1258828426 Hi, you may have heard me spout off here as a proponent of Mg supplementation in Lyme ... I have been taking 250mg of Mg oxide/day, divided into two doses of about 125mg each (by biting into the tablet since they aren't scored). 250mg in one dose may not be a lot for most people, but I'm real sensitive to meds generally. I've also read somewhere that taking little bits of supplements throughout the day is better generally than one big dose once a day. Start low, work up.
456906 tn?1208569831 Too much potassium can be bad for anybody...they actually use potassium chloride in HIGH concentration for lethal injection. They use the same thing in IV's in low doses to keep people hydrated in the hospital. Too much of anything can be bad. I think it would be VERY difficult to bring yourself to the point where you had too much potassium.
