Avatar n tn Iodized salt is thus table salt mixed with a minute amount of potassium iodide, Dehydration results from the loss of water and important electrolytes from the body, including potassium, sodium, chloride, and many other minerals that are often overlooked. I am unsure y u r trying to avoid potassium as it is one of the items lacking when u dehydrate...many with chiari may have low levels of magnesium and potassium.
Avatar n tn what is the difference between Potassium Chloride, Potassium Nitrate and Potassium Citrate?
Avatar n tn Potassium and Calcium and important electrolytes in muscles. Potassium is one of those electrolytes you dont really want to be messed up in your body. High potassium levels can cause heart dysrrhythmias, since your heart is a big muscle, Other signs of hyperkalemia(increased potassium) are nausea vomitting, restlessness, irritability, I am looking in my book right now to make sure i can give you the most accurate information. Chloride there is not much on.
617141 tn?1225706428 Transfer was postponed till I get better. Doctor gave me Lasix 40 mg to be taken once and Neo-K (potassium chloride) 500 mg twice daily for 5 days for now. My concern is that I ate two potatoes, one banana, a cup of yogurt, and tomato, all potassium sources today.
Avatar f tn Magnesium Chloride is actually ocean water where the salt has been removed. It will be a little sticky , feels like you were in the ocean.. depends on the brand . I have gotten used to it. Amazon has it and read the reviews. Good luck in your search for health.

Avatar m tn Every mineral has to be chelated for it to be absorbed. Some chelations are better for some people. It's hard to believe that any supplement has 90% absorption. What I do wonder about is the amount of potassium you're supplementing, and why the milk? Milk is high in calcium but deficient in magnesium. Like potassium, magnesium and calcium are electrolytes, all of which must be in proper balance for the body to function properly.
Avatar f tn Potassium is a chemical element and it is part of the electrolyte that should be in balance with other lytes to adequately conduct an electrical impulse that originates with the sinus node in the right atrium. The mechanism of action is not completely understood, but what is when a voltage (unit of potential for conduction) and electrolyte there will conduction and passage of electrical impluses.

Avatar n tn Liberal use of salt substitutes that contain potassium chloride can add to the potassium load. Liberal use of these products in people with kidney disease can cause dangerously high levels of potassium to build in the bloodstream.
Avatar m tn m wondering if you can or can not use something like Lo Salt that has potassium chloride in it along with beta blockers, and if so how much is recommended. I'm looking to substitute lo salt for some other high in potassium foods in order to cut down on my sugar content.
Avatar f tn The doctors may be right about the potassium and magnesium, but it's hard for us to say, since we don't know your situation. Magnesium deficiency is common among those of us with thyroid conditions. Did you have parathyroid(s) removed at the same time your thyroid was removed? Parathyroids control movement of calcium and it's common to have calcium issues following their removal.
Avatar m tn After that event I get arrhythmia time to time, accompanying with nerve impulses travelling accross the chest. In hospital doctors usually detect potassium level in blood 3.8. Basing on that doctors infused potassium chloride and I take additinally potassium supplements. Recently I noticed that when Arrhythmia occurs, I heal it not with potassium restore, but with neck streching up. When I stretch the neck up, arrhythmia dissapears even before infusion of potassium chloride.
12850046 tn?1427502279 Hello there. For the past view months, I've been experiencing muscle twitches all over my body. It happens throughout the course of the entire day. I'll get them on the very top of my stomach, the back of my leg (the crease), my calves, both feet, my legs, my knees, my arms and my face. I'll get upper eyelid twitches if I sneeze twice in a row or if I shut my eyes tightly. Also, a few days ago, I woke up with my left calf tightened, like a muscle spasm.

Avatar f tn Meaning to say that just because the watch is reading the chloride activity and indicating so on the watch, could I assume I was ovulating as well. Guess I'm just tired of disappointment. This is the first month I have used the watch and it has indicated Fertile Day one-four and OV Day 1 and so on. We've been going at it! LOLOLOL I'm 44 and was pregnant at age 41 for the first time. She was down syndrome, bad heart and didn't make it.
456906 tn?1208569831 Too much potassium can be bad for anybody...they actually use potassium chloride in HIGH concentration for lethal injection. They use the same thing in IV's in low doses to keep people hydrated in the hospital. Too much of anything can be bad. I think it would be VERY difficult to bring yourself to the point where you had too much potassium.
Avatar n tn I've been told I should increase my electrolyte intake. I've done so but am still having problems. I'm wondering if it's because of the type of electrolytes I've been using, mainly potassium citrate and magnesium citrate. I'm mainly interested in the best electrolytes for neural and brain health and was wondering if someone could suggest me some. I'm kind of interested in magnesium chloride.
Avatar n tn Should I asked to have my potassium checked again? The doctor said low potassium could be something very serious yet just checked my blood after being on suppliments and that is it. I am really concerned and feel like crap! Any advice you may have to give would be appreciated.
