499534 tn?1328707778 If you need a lot, then yes, you need to take potassium iodide. But nobody should take a lot for very long. As for hyperthyroidism, if you want to take your chances, be my guest. But iodine speeds up the thyroid's production, which makes it more likely to burn out if one is already overly active. On the other hand, there is no definitive research on anything in the health field, particularly concerning supplementation -- non enough money for good research on things that can't be patented.
Avatar n tn I worked for a very savy poolguy who said the Ph level in the water is what causes itchy conitions and that water from the tap is never Ph correct for the body without conditioning. Some water is worse than others.Get a test kit from pool supply store to check your water.Chlorine also affects Ph, and too much chlorine can also cause itch.
Avatar n tn The fumes even come in through the air-conditioners I have. Then the fumes stay in my nose for a while, probably because I have allergies. Additionally, I think someone upstairs may be trying to fix their motorcycle and trying to hide it. I know it's gas fumes, because some years ago, I smelled it and the guy downstairs finally admitted he was running a small truck inside the building.
Avatar n tn I'm a 60 year old men, in excellent health, except for experiencing tremors during sleep that wake me up and have difficulty going back to sleep. As I start to fall sleep again, I feel these "rumbleling" (tremors) around my upper body. I immediately wake up again. These tremors last for about 10-15 seconds after I wake up. The first time I experienced this condition was exactly two years ago. It lasted for about four days and it simply went away.
Avatar n tn i also take raw apple cidar vinegar in water for ph balance and eat a raw garlic clove for antibiotic properties. since drinking the tea and the reishi pills the swelling has gone done tremendously. today is the first day i have woken up without super swollen eyelids in the past 1 week. they still itch, and while the castor oil does help with this, i am still going to treat with the watered down hydrocortisone cream for a couple days once or twice a day depending on how often i need it.
