1491677 tn?1288462420 I have tried bottled water, letting water sit in the frig, yet the only water she will drink is the water I mix in her gravy train food. I am glad I can get her to drink this much water but I know she needs to be drinking more. It hasn't affected her health so far and I would like to take care of this problem before it does. What should I do??
Avatar n tn Iodized salt is thus table salt mixed with a minute amount of potassium iodide, Dehydration results from the loss of water and important electrolytes from the body, including potassium, sodium, chloride, and many other minerals that are often overlooked. I am unsure y u r trying to avoid potassium as it is one of the items lacking when u dehydrate...many with chiari may have low levels of magnesium and potassium.
10805050 tn?1420935520 ve heard about drinking Tonic Water before bed. The nurse at my Liver Docs office mentioned it and then the next day I saw it in an unrelated post. Anyone have luck with Quinine Water? Would love to hear from you. I don't think there's anything I can do about the itching...Doc said its from not processing bile back into the liver from digestive track so it swims around in my blood and when it hits the surface it itches. Tried 75 mg Benadryl, nothing...?
Avatar f tn different kinds of potassium)on amazon. It is a powder formula, love it because I can’t swallow pills. (FYI: different kinds of potassium when you look to order) I ordered an 8oz bag in January 2020 for around $12.00 & has last me all year. I hope this may help someone!
Avatar m tn The scientific effect is a filtering action that purifies and reduces mineralization in the water, while creating a potent diuretic chemistry. Fiuggi is prescribed in Italy for expulsion of kidney stones, and supposedly inhibits their formation; it is also indicated during preparation urinary calculosis procedures and post-op treatment.
Avatar m tn Electrolytes like sodium, potassium and chloride should be part of some of your bloodwork throughout TX. That much water under normal conditions would be harmful, diluting them too much, but the drugs seriously deplete H2O in the cells so you need it all. Do what your body tells you.
Avatar n tn It could be the water had too much sodium chloride in it. If you are drinking city water, bottled water, they taint it with what they feel will make it safer to drink. Sodium Chloride is rat poison, but in minor amounts they feel it doesn't harm you. On 20/20 they followed bottled water back to its origin and found various places it came from, one being a rusty pipe in a shack.
Avatar n tn what is the difference between Potassium Chloride, Potassium Nitrate and Potassium Citrate?
Avatar f tn To prevent dehydration when you have diarrhea, it is important to drink plenty of water also you should drink fluids that contain sodium, chloride, and potassium (Fruit juices, sports drinks, sodas without caffeine, and salty broths) as they are lost if you have a lot of diarrhea. You might ask the doc about any anti-diarrhea med that you can take that won't affect your status in the trial. Good luck!
456906 tn?1208569831 Too much potassium can be bad for anybody...they actually use potassium chloride in HIGH concentration for lethal injection. They use the same thing in IV's in low doses to keep people hydrated in the hospital. Too much of anything can be bad. I think it would be VERY difficult to bring yourself to the point where you had too much potassium.

Avatar n tn I've been told I should increase my electrolyte intake. I've done so but am still having problems. I'm wondering if it's because of the type of electrolytes I've been using, mainly potassium citrate and magnesium citrate. I'm mainly interested in the best electrolytes for neural and brain health and was wondering if someone could suggest me some. I'm kind of interested in magnesium chloride.
Avatar f tn I hate drinking water too, I just top my juice up with a bit of water, makes you drink water & makes your juice last longer :)
617141 tn?1225706428 Transfer was postponed till I get better. Doctor gave me Lasix 40 mg to be taken once and Neo-K (potassium chloride) 500 mg twice daily for 5 days for now. My concern is that I ate two potatoes, one banana, a cup of yogurt, and tomato, all potassium sources today.
Avatar m tn 8. So I took some Potassium chloride, seemed to help, been drinking milk more often (high in potassium) and now the PVCs are back, not as bad as before, but they mainly occur when I try to sleep. I find I sleep on my right side and they arent as prevalent. Seems like most of my discomfort is while laying down. Anyone else experience this? I just worry that perhaps my heart is weakening, which might explain my slow heart rate and what appears to be "healthy" blood pressure.
Avatar f tn Magnesium Chloride is actually ocean water where the salt has been removed. It will be a little sticky , feels like you were in the ocean.. depends on the brand . I have gotten used to it. Amazon has it and read the reviews. Good luck in your search for health.
Avatar f tn Your sodium and potassium are in normal limits which pretty much rules out a cortisol issue. Not sure why you are drinking salt water. Fatigue is a... general symptom. It can be attributed to SO MANY things that to just think it is specific to adrenals... just cannot make the leap. It could be a vitamin, another hormone, an auto-immune disorder or... anything! Licorice root may only add to your fatigue.
Avatar f tn I start treatment on Friday 7/5/2013, and have read that while taking the triple therapy it is recommend to drink at lease a gallon of water, while drinking that much water will it make your potassium low?
1618806 tn?1304734477 Salad binge?! I eat salads every day. LOL! But I'm highly concerned about the advice your dishing out about Ms. Dash. Ms. Dash IS NOT a salt substitute it is merely a salt replacement. There's a WORLD of difference between Ms. Dash and Morton Salt Substitute (for example) which is loaded with Potassium Chloride. If you take the time to read the ingredients on ANY Ms. Dash flavors, you'll find nothing but herbs and spices, there's absolutely NO potassium chloride in it.
Avatar n tn Potassium and Calcium and important electrolytes in muscles. Potassium is one of those electrolytes you dont really want to be messed up in your body. High potassium levels can cause heart dysrrhythmias, since your heart is a big muscle, Other signs of hyperkalemia(increased potassium) are nausea vomitting, restlessness, irritability, I am looking in my book right now to make sure i can give you the most accurate information. Chloride there is not much on.
Avatar n tn My doctor thought nothing of it, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask here for a second opinion. Can anybody tell me HOW abnormal the following values are: Sodium: 133mmol/L (normal 135-145) Potassium: 3.2mmol/L (normal 3.5-5.0) Chloride: 96mmol/L (normal 101-111) Are my levels abnormally low to the point they should be corrected? Would my levels cause symptoms? The reason I ask is, I do have muscle ache issues, dizziness, and general fatigue.
