617141 tn?1225706428 Transfer was postponed till I get better. Doctor gave me Lasix 40 mg to be taken once and Neo-K (potassium chloride) 500 mg twice daily for 5 days for now. My concern is that I ate two potatoes, one banana, a cup of yogurt, and tomato, all potassium sources today.
Avatar n tn what is the difference between Potassium Chloride, Potassium Nitrate and Potassium Citrate?
Avatar m tn My wife and I have a low potassium diet and need to supplement with 1.5g to 2.5g per day depending on how active we are and how much milk we drink for added protein. We are getting a lot of contradictory info about potassium supplementation products. We have been told by a PA and MD that that we are wasting our time taking OTC potassium gluconate because it is not being absorbed. Online comments often repeat the same message.
Avatar m tn Do you exercise? Because sodium and potassium deficiency are particularly common after exercise as you can lose them during sweating. This can cause your muscles to contract and twitch. You can get electrolytes by eating certain foods. Potassium is found in bananas, vegetables, nuts and seeds, fish, milk, beef, chicken. Sodium is found in salt. Your body relies on these minerals to relax the muscle tissue once a spasm occurs.
1118724 tn?1357010591 But elevated as well as too low potassium can be bad for the heart and cause arrhythmia. Potassium chloride should not be taken with some blood pressure medications such as losartan, lisinopril, and some others. Are you on any medication? If yes, write them here and I will try to check for you if they are OK to take with potassium chloride.
Avatar m tn m wondering if you can or can not use something like Lo Salt that has potassium chloride in it along with beta blockers, and if so how much is recommended. I'm looking to substitute lo salt for some other high in potassium foods in order to cut down on my sugar content.
Avatar f tn Hi! Thanks for responding. I am using the OV watch and was just wondering if there is a "loop hole" in this technology. Meaning to say that just because the watch is reading the chloride activity and indicating so on the watch, could I assume I was ovulating as well. Guess I'm just tired of disappointment. This is the first month I have used the watch and it has indicated Fertile Day one-four and OV Day 1 and so on. We've been going at it!
7569019 tn?1460135460 now down to 10) 4 days of major charlie horses Dr said stop taking Gemfibrozil.. and to help with the swelling I was put on lasix furosemide 20 mg and pot chloride 20 meg.. Avatar n tn Ok...I was confused as I was not aware this could happen like this, I thought they were in tandem....huh....well If I find ne info I will let u know. Didn't ur Dr advise u how to do this?
Avatar f tn Potassium is a chemical element and it is part of the electrolyte that should be in balance with other lytes to adequately conduct an electrical impulse that originates with the sinus node in the right atrium. The mechanism of action is not completely understood, but what is when a voltage (unit of potential for conduction) and electrolyte there will conduction and passage of electrical impluses.
1618806 tn?1304734477 Salad binge?! I eat salads every day. LOL! But I'm highly concerned about the advice your dishing out about Ms. Dash. Ms. Dash IS NOT a salt substitute it is merely a salt replacement. There's a WORLD of difference between Ms. Dash and Morton Salt Substitute (for example) which is loaded with Potassium Chloride. If you take the time to read the ingredients on ANY Ms. Dash flavors, you'll find nothing but herbs and spices, there's absolutely NO potassium chloride in it.
342988 tn?1299782356 my little bean grew into a gummy bear with arms and legs (although i thought it looked like a hampster.) So the heartbeat was 176 beats per minute and it was the greatest thing to ever see. after 2 MC's i am so excited.
Avatar n tn she also got blood work done for signs of fatigue (showed up months before this incident) and her chloride and potassium levels were well above healthy. could this contribute to her period being late? please let me know, thanks.
Avatar f tn Night time muscle pain may be due to an imbalance in the potassium, magnesium, and sodium relationship. Try giving your daughter a half a banana at night before she goes to bed. Better would be to see if she'll down 4 ounces of low sodium V8, which has a really good balance of these minerals. Blessings for both of you!
620048 tn?1358018235 P You sound way more responsible about your vitamins :) Oh, wait, but I might actually be able to offer something useful! Have you tried the gummy omega-3 fishes? They have them at Costco or Trader Joe's... mmmm! They're actually yummy - no fishy taste. Your post might finally get me to start taking calcium too. Best to you!

143123 tn?1274300825 I had my fourth ultrasound this morning. DH and I can't ge over how much our baby has grown. It has gone from looking like an alien to a cute little gummy bear. I'm 8w4d today! The baby was moving around and flipping and kept putting it's hand up to it's mouth. RE said that since we have a baby with cardiac and movement, miscarriage is at a 5% rate right now. That is a blessing to us after going through 2 miscarriages.
Avatar f tn I can eat greasy foods and not get deathly sick! I take a pinch of potassium chloride daily or few times a week. I ordered potassium chloride, (FYI: different kinds of potassium) on Amazon. It is a powder formula, love it because I can’t swallow pills. (FYI: different kinds of potassium when you look to order) I ordered an 8oz bag in January 2020 for around $12.00 & has last me all year. I hope this may help someone!
Avatar f tn I take the citranatal prenatal gummy bears, try the flinestone gummy bears or gummy bear type pills...
Avatar f tn And 9wk embryo does have small arm and leg buds. A gummy bear was a good way to describe it.. You'll definitely see cardiac activity. And the baby actually starts to move in the 9th week, so you may see the baby flex/extend it's body. Hope you have a good experience.
Avatar f tn On a previous post (last month...http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/579280?post_id=post_3204884) Quix had mentioned that an adverse reaction I was having to vitamins might be due to magnesium stearate, a common binder used in making tablets. So I have been looking into this, comparing ingredients of vitamins and medications. Oh, and thanks Quix for the info last month.
Avatar f tn I had one at 8 weeks and 3 days and the baby looked like a little gummy bear. The arms and legs were just starting to form. Like others have said, they will probably want to do one vaginally.
7677085 tn?1395374075 I call the baby (in my belly) my baby bear.
