617141 tn?1225706428 Transfer was postponed till I get better. Doctor gave me Lasix 40 mg to be taken once and Neo-K (potassium chloride) 500 mg twice daily for 5 days for now. My concern is that I ate two potatoes, one banana, a cup of yogurt, and tomato, all potassium sources today.
757137 tn?1347196453 A medium size banana has about 422 mg you will need about 3-4 bananas! Now will that cause CONSTIPATION?
Avatar n tn what is the difference between Potassium Chloride, Potassium Nitrate and Potassium Citrate?
Avatar m tn My wife and I have a low potassium diet and need to supplement with 1.5g to 2.5g per day depending on how active we are and how much milk we drink for added protein. We are getting a lot of contradictory info about potassium supplementation products. We have been told by a PA and MD that that we are wasting our time taking OTC potassium gluconate because it is not being absorbed. Online comments often repeat the same message.
Avatar m tn Could be many things. Neither supplement is very good -- lots of additives you don't want, sugars, artificial ingredients, minerals in the wrong form to be well absorbed.
1118724 tn?1357010591 Back to the salt substitute. I also eat food that is high in potassium and take a med that helps the potassium from being leached from my body from taking lasix, so I don't know why the "No Salt" is an issue. What I use that really adds a lot of flavor - and I used it for many years is a spice -called "Spike". It goes great on everything. You can get it with or without salt. My husband is eating his food the same way I season mine now and he really likes it.
Avatar m tn So if you're on a diuretic wouldn't that mean you're at risk for low potassium and need more potassium in your diet? Just a little confused at the moment since I'm hearing all sort of things.
Avatar f tn Hi! Thanks for responding. I am using the OV watch and was just wondering if there is a "loop hole" in this technology. Meaning to say that just because the watch is reading the chloride activity and indicating so on the watch, could I assume I was ovulating as well. Guess I'm just tired of disappointment. This is the first month I have used the watch and it has indicated Fertile Day one-four and OV Day 1 and so on. We've been going at it!
7569019 tn?1460135460 now down to 10) 4 days of major charlie horses Dr said stop taking Gemfibrozil.. and to help with the swelling I was put on lasix furosemide 20 mg and pot chloride 20 meg.. I am drinking more water but not peeing anymore than normal..dizzy tho.and sometimes short of breath, especially when walking or talking..how much water should I be drinking, an the muscle cramps and weakness of my legs will they get better? This kills me.. the pain last for hours after a cramp.
Avatar f tn Now I also went to the government website for recommended daily intake for potassium, and that turned out to be a bit of a hot mess so bear with me here. They have the chart set up as a .pdf file download, but when I downloaded it to my computer, it turned out they have it improperly formatted (the have the wrong file extension in the filename for some reason). Or at least, that's how it came up on my Mac ... your mileage may vary.
Avatar f tn Potassium is a chemical element and it is part of the electrolyte that should be in balance with other lytes to adequately conduct an electrical impulse that originates with the sinus node in the right atrium. The mechanism of action is not completely understood, but what is when a voltage (unit of potential for conduction) and electrolyte there will conduction and passage of electrical impluses.
1618806 tn?1304734477 Salad binge?! I eat salads every day. LOL! But I'm highly concerned about the advice your dishing out about Ms. Dash. Ms. Dash IS NOT a salt substitute it is merely a salt replacement. There's a WORLD of difference between Ms. Dash and Morton Salt Substitute (for example) which is loaded with Potassium Chloride. If you take the time to read the ingredients on ANY Ms. Dash flavors, you'll find nothing but herbs and spices, there's absolutely NO potassium chloride in it.
342988 tn?1299782356 my little bean grew into a gummy bear with arms and legs (although i thought it looked like a hampster.) So the heartbeat was 176 beats per minute and it was the greatest thing to ever see. after 2 MC's i am so excited.
4530757 tn?1358353386 I was 20 weeks and my gummy bear was weighing a 1lb 1/2 i believe 13oz is average :)my little mman apparently was having a growing spurt that week.
Avatar n tn I get them bad I used a heating oad my mu bed for only a few seconds n try to eat more bananas when u pee alot it pees out ur potassium hints the cramps ;) or try a vit d3 gummy chewy thats what I do
Avatar n tn she took 2 first response pg tests a few days apart like a wk after her period and they were both negative. she also got blood work done for signs of fatigue (showed up months before this incident) and her chloride and potassium levels were well above healthy. could this contribute to her period being late? please let me know, thanks.
Avatar n tn Plus if you do react to potassium chloride (that is one of the theories) then it will be a very painful test. I was on the 30% who came out neg luckily my doctor (another doctor than the one who ordered the KCl did not go by the results but by my symptoms when he decided to the cystoscopy with hydro-distention. I am glad he did too I practically had no lining (GAG layer) in my bladder. I hope this helps, achilles2 PS If you are interested, here is some more info about IC-- http://www.
Avatar f tn Night time muscle pain may be due to an imbalance in the potassium, magnesium, and sodium relationship. Try giving your daughter a half a banana at night before she goes to bed. Better would be to see if she'll down 4 ounces of low sodium V8, which has a really good balance of these minerals. Blessings for both of you!

143123 tn?1274300825 RE said that since we have a baby with cardiac and movement, miscarriage is at a 5% rate right now. That is a blessing to us after going through 2 miscarriages. I have one more visit next week with RE and then October 29 I see my OB. We haven't told any family or friends yet that we are pregnant. We have planned to tell after our OB appointment. We are going to have a nice collection of ultrasound pictures to share. I'm just so excited about my baby.
Avatar f tn I can eat greasy foods and not get deathly sick! I take a pinch of potassium chloride daily or few times a week. I ordered potassium chloride, (FYI: different kinds of potassium) on Amazon. It is a powder formula, love it because I can’t swallow pills. (FYI: different kinds of potassium when you look to order) I ordered an 8oz bag in January 2020 for around $12.00 & has last me all year. I hope this may help someone!
Avatar f tn And 9wk embryo does have small arm and leg buds. A gummy bear was a good way to describe it.. You'll definitely see cardiac activity. And the baby actually starts to move in the 9th week, so you may see the baby flex/extend it's body. Hope you have a good experience.
Avatar f tn I take the citranatal prenatal gummy bears, try the flinestone gummy bears or gummy bear type pills...
