I had a Biopsy and the tech doing it the first time asked me why I was getting it and when I told him hep c he really did a thorough job. And it showd some damage. The next time the tech. didn't ask me why and he only took half the time to do it and it didn't show as much damage.

I've followed this research, and from what I've learned the drug interaction of Plavix and PPI's (proton pump inhibitors) is not not that strong. I doubted the report from the start as I took Plavix and PPI's and my blood was as thin as tea, I bruised very, very easily, and the blood tests to determine my clotting factor wasn't changed by taking the two drugs.

My heart Dr will not let me go off the plavix and my surgeon will not do the surgery while on plavix. What happens in a situation like this?. I am between a rock and a hard place. If neither Dr gives in what do I do? If I have an attack and end up in the ER wouldn't they have to do emergency sugery?. Does this mean that anyone on plavix can never have surgery unless it's an ermergency. What is your opinion on going off plavix temporarily for surgery. I would welcome anyones advice.

was recently diagnosed w/ small liver hemangioma and am wondering if anyone knows if it is ok to be on aspirin and effient (like plavix) due to coronary stent or does this pose a risk of hemangioma bleeding?

I have read so often that you should not take Plavix and aspirin, but it seems to also be common to prescribe both plavix and aspirin in certain situations. I am worried and confused. Thanks.

i had a massive heart attack in june 2009 which i'm on medication for. my concern is i'm due to come off plavix in 1 month's time and heard a lot of bad thing's about coming off it.

I had angioplasty in 2001 and had a stent implant. My cardiologist prescribed Plavix and 81 mg aspirin daily among the other medications (beta blocker, ACE inhibitor, statin). I have recently moved to a new city and have not found a new cardiologist yet but family physician suggested that Plavix could be discontinued as the guidelines have changed and no long recommended after 12 months post stent implant. Suggestions please?
