I'm in the process of switching to a new dentist and the new patient form I had to fill out asked "Have you ever taken any combination of the drug known as 'fen-phen'. This includes phentermine (Adipex, Fastin, etc) and/or fenfluramine (Pondimin)." What does it matter if I have taken this? I haven't taken fen-phen, but I have and do occasionally take phentermine?
Though rare, euphoria can be a side effect of Adipex-P® (Phentermine). Similar to amphetamines, phentermine increases the release of norepinephrine and dopamine from nerve terminals that can cause the “calming effect” you're describing. It could also simply just be that you're feeling better with the weight loss and therefore in a better mood.
I dont drink or use anything else. I recently started working out and i decided i wanted to lose weight but had some trouble doing so. I went to a weight loss clinic and they have me Adipex. I dropped it at a pharmacy. Sent my boyfriend to pick it up. Well apparently he had some sort of disagreement with the pharmacist and they exchanged words. My boyfriend is....well a loud mouth and usually gets his way when he gets loud. This time i am suffering the consequences.
I have been taking phentermine 37.5 for months now and I have gained 6 pounds I am constantly bloated I just started 25 milligrams of topomax 2 times a day and still no weight loss I have all but stopped drinking sodas drink only water. I feel basically like I have no life I just eat salad a little meat here and there and low calorie snacks.

Adipex is phentermine, a mild stimulant that was in the news some time ago for being half of 'fen-phen', a weight loss cocktail that caused heart valve damage. Nowadays you will see a great deal of talk online about 'phen-pro', a combination of phentermine and prozac that is used for weight loss.
I was prescribed Duromine (slow-release resin of phentermine) 30mg (so not the fast acting 37.5mg Adipex-P a lot are familiar with).
I don't know this doctor very well as mine has retired, and he is aware of my medical history obviously, and my struggle with weight loss as well as my attempt to keep my diet as healthy as I can (despite occasionally messing up from time to time due to lethargy, stress from work and genuine hunger...)
Can I trust that my blood pressure won't skyrocket??
I started taking Phentermine 30 mg daily on Feb 4, 2009. To date I have not lost a pound. Infact I gained a 2 lbs. I have increased my exercise on my Elliptical (30-60min/day) and started to eat healthier. How long does it take for phentermine to kick in? Any advice? Anything I should say to my physcian?
While taking it with Adipex...
You should not take zoloft and adiplex...its a bad and sometimes dangerous combination. Adiplex has a stimulant effect,and perhaps you are missing that....there are no warnings about withdrawal effects from this medication.
s hard to say whether or not you will gain back weight when you stop the adipex. This is the bad thing about taking weight loss aids or going through ridiculous regimens to lose weight -- no one is going to stick with them forever; and once stopped, the weight is likely to come right back on.
Taper off the adipex, and watch your portion control very closely, as well as getting some exercise.
I am currently taking adipex for weight loss, I had an injury to my left knee and want to know if I can take ibuprofen while taking adipex?
Before taking Adipex I chose to quit taking my anti depressant pills a little after turning 18 hoping I would not need them my whole life. A year or so before that I attempted suicide. I felt fine not taking my anti depressants since it has been almost a year since I quit taking them and when I began taking Adipex and been eating 1100 to 1200 calories a day I have lost 17 lbs in almost a month.
I was prescribed adipex ) 37.5 mg. my fiances mother was prescribed the same exact thing. Before spending tons of money she gave me a weeks worth to try out. It worked great and I lost 11 pounds in one week. It was a football shape and had very few blue specs. I decided to go get my script filled since it worked great. When I got mine it looked completely different. Instead of a football shape where the ends met in a point. The ends were completely round and had a lot more blue specs.
But last year I realized that wasnt true and that I did have an eating disorder so I began taking Adipex (after I attended many diffrent counceling sessions and group therapies in which the counselors themselves really didnt understand that I and many other patients do not lack self control we have compulsive hunger that never stops .
