I have done Phentermine and Fastin and other pills and patches and things you put in your coffee and stuff you do every other day and on and on....
Feb 15, 2011- I decided enough was enough. I finally accepted that to lose weight, I will have to actually Get Up Off The Couch and DO something. I started by walking on a treadmill (started at a mile) and now I am up to 2 miles. I have cut out 99% of sodas and sweet tea. No junk food.
Many physicians are not comfortable prescribing multiple weight loss medications at the same time out of concern for increased risk of side effects. Also keep in mind that phentermine is not generally recommended in the long term. It may make more sense to just stick with one of the weight loss medications to see if there are any beneficial effects. It's also a good time to think carefully about how the weight loss occurred while on the new medication.
You are likely developing hives as an allergic reaction. It could be from the phentermine, but could also be a reaction to something you ate or came in contact with, such a new soap, detergent, or lotion. Since the rash developed 3 days after starting phentermine, it's not likely the cause - allergic reactions usually develop soon after taking the medication.
You may have withdrawal symptoms, such as depression and extreme tiredness, when you stop using phentermine after a long period of use. Do not stop using phentermine suddenly without first talking to your doctor. You may need to use less and less before you stop the medication completely.
I went to see my doctor and he put me on phentermine 37.5mg once a day and topamax 23 mg in half doeses twice dailey. I also take adderall 20mg twice Dailey. I asked him if theses two meds who interact with one another and his response was no . I guess my question is how do I safely spread them out during the day. It seems I can't get it right because when I take either or I get very anxious . I already take a anti anxiety med clonazepam for accational panic attacks.
This drug is not only not proven effective for long-term use, it's not healthy either. Do some research on this drug. I didn't even know it was still legal. You don't want to make up for a hormonal change by taking a drug. You want to experiment with your diet until you reach a new and still healthy balance. You get used to menopause eventually. You can't do that if you take a drug and alter the way your body works naturally. Peace.
I was told they would mail me the lipo b injections since the clinic is so far from where I live. I am totally not used to the phentermine and am having trouble sleeping. I have eaten far less today than I usually do. I have not been hungry at all. So it's definately working. Could some of the loss you experienced be water? The doc I went to said that can happen. I am about 30-40 lbs overweight and some of my friends and co-workers have been doing the medical weight loss with the B-12 shots and Phentermine pills. I am so scared to take the pills because I am terrified about my heart. I feel I don't have a lot of options because due to constantly being depressed and having anxiety about the skipped beats I eat to make myself feel better. I know it's the easy way out but I would love to do it and get the weight off.
Am so sorry you have been struggling with weight for so long but, most respectfully, would suggest that phentermine is not the route to take. I, too, struggled with weight for many, many years. Perhaps you will allow me to share with you what I learned.
Weight loss is attainable but there is not a pill or a shot that is going to fix it for us. If there were, everyone who have taken it and obesity would not be prevalent in our society.
No it would not affect your nerves, the nerve terminals simply refer to the source of where the norepinephrine and dopamine are released. It does not relate in any way to your nerves. If the medication is working and you feel fine, I wouldn't be too concerned. If however you're still uneasy about the effect you're feeling, by all means contact your doctor.
m curious why more studies have not been conducted to study the correlation between phentermine and acne? Acne is not listed as a possible side effect of phentermine, but phentermine is considered a methamphetamine; methamphetamines are known to causes acne. I am a biology teacher and am frustrated that medical professionals are not confirming the overwhelming reports of acne being associated with phentermine. Is it a conspiracy????
Crying all the time with panic attacks and scared feelings as well as sleeping issues. I got mine from a weight loss clinic who explained to me it is not the phentermine causing any of this. I feel like a different person snapping at my family who tells me I am different now also. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW LONG IT CAN LAST? Am I crazy did anyone else experience any of these issues.
Am on day 13, first week I lost only 1 lbs, I went for a f/u on thursday doc added phentermine thinking maybe it would speed up the process, on sat when I weighed I lost 2 lbs, as of today I haven't lost anymore :/
I have hypothyroid and my levels are under control. I eat 400-550 cal a day,drink plenty of water,I weigh all my chicken & fish and am working out-but still no luck,this is getting kind of frustrating!!!
I took Phentermine for 2 years in my youth.lol They have not banned Phentermine, they banned Phen/Fen. They took the second part of the diet cocktail off the market because it was causing heart damage. I used to take it for energy, cuz I was a shallow work out freak. When I stopped taking it, the only withdrawal I had was zero energy. Because you are not taking speed anymore. You wont get sick. But it will take you time to get your real energy back. The big problem you have now is the xanax.
You make a great point that weight loss medication like phentermine is not a long term weight loss solution. If you do go back to old habits, you might expect to gain back the weight that you lost. But the good news is that you're in a good starting place and you are still motivated to keep it going. Good luck!

After, I stopped working out and gained about 40 pounds.. When going back to the gym, I lost 10 pounds (woo!!) But have now hit a plateau.. I've changed my diet and everything, but cannot seam to lose the remainder of the weight.
After searching online, I have found that HCG Injections and Phentermine could be a great combination and works well for weight loss.
Has anyone tried this and if so, what were your results?

They also avoid stopping the drug because every time they try to stop, they go into withdrawal. For this reason the FDA advises that phentermine should not be used by people with histories of drug abuse or alcoholism, and should only be used for short periods of time. People are abusing phentermine if they remain on it longer than medically recommended or if they stay on it when they are not losing weight.
