My doctor also prescribed taking metformin(glucophage) in addition to the phentermine and birth control. I have lost about 8 pounds in the last month since taking the phentermine but i dont feel like I am losing enough weight for how little i have been eating.

Phentermine will not help you lose weight, the old Phentermine did but is was a very nasty and dangerous drug. The FDA withdrew Phentermine and removed the dangerous ingredient which is what made you lose weight...and the new Phentermine does nothing. There are doctors who prescribe it but they also insist that you be on a low carbohydrate diet with it. So you will lose weight but not because of the Phentermine but because of the low carb diet! The Phentermine is a big waste of your money.

I usually don't feel it working, Caffeine will counter act mine as well as stress and anything else negative in my life. I also started to take 2 pills then backed off cause it keeps me wired at night. Since I have been on this I have to say it never helped me lose weight but it kept me from thinking about pigging out and if you work out on it, it helps out so much and works better. I drank tons of water on it the dry mouth I hated!

One of my kids has taken phentermine and it did help a little. However she has just this week learned she has hypothyroidism and that may be another reason her metabolism is sluggish. I have been on phentermine for a little over a month because I had problems shedding post-partum weight, but then found out that I also have hypothyroidism and was prescribed with Levothyroxine (by the same doctor and kept me on phentermine). Your best bet is to actually call the pharmacist. While doctors SHOULD know the answer to this question, pharmacists are better educated about this. The one thing I can tell you about any weight loss drug is that even though they may be safe to take together, anytime I've taken them (or even green tea), my heart rate goes through the roof and I get jittery. So, even if the drugs are safe together, if you notice increased anxiety, this could be why.

m curious why more studies have not been conducted to study the correlation between phentermine and acne? Acne is not listed as a possible side effect of phentermine, but phentermine is considered a methamphetamine; methamphetamines are known to causes acne. I have some spotting and cramps. I am sure it will be a rough one! I did stop the phentermine over the weekend and started back yesterday(Monday). Maybe thats what triggered it....who knows. Being a woman shouldnt be this much stress and hard work!
