I recently talked to my doctor about switching me to davocet because I had taken that years ago for back surgery and I stopped it with no problems. My problem with the percocet is that I have to take it everyday whether I need it for pain or not, the withdrawals are there. Instead of switching me to darvocet my doctor gave me darvon 65 today. He said it would be better to transition than davocet (I guess a little stronger). I'm worried tomorrow about starting it.
Those compounds are much smoother than the darvocet. The darvocet has an opioid with a much more different chemical structure than other opioids but it is similar to strength to codeine (weak opiates). The first couple of times I took dravon and darvocet I was terribly nauseous! I never though an opiate could make me throw up, I know nausea is a common side effect but I've never had it with any other opiate.
Most of this discontinuation of darvon 65 is all money and politics.
Oxycodone also has an option without Tylenol. it is available in a 5 mg strength so this may be an option too.
You need to discuss this with your doctor and ask him what options he/she can offer. I would highly suggest not going in and asking for a specific drug, this raises huge red flags.
Just speak to your doctor and inform them that the Darvocet is not controlling the pain and that your concerned about the Tylenol content on a daily basis and they will adjust your medicines accordingly.
After 1 pill I could not believe it. I was totally pain free, no trigger fingers no anything bad. Ultram, Darvocet and Percocet did nothing to quiet the pain.
Obviously hand surgeons don’t recommend it; because it would put them out of business. It is 6 months now that I have been taking it. Two nights last week I didn’t take my pills, the Nupragen being one that I forgot. The next morning I couldn’t believe the pain I was in.

ve had severe w/ds since the first day of no perc even w the darvocet. Threw away the rest of the darvocet cuz I want out. I jus wana know when this will end I guess. I prolly effed up by takin the darvocet n not jus stoping huh? Well I'm the type of person who works when dying n I've been workin a 6 day strech. Its killin me. I've taken 3 immoidum pills in the past 2 days but nothing else... what helps? I can't do tynol anymore EVER! I've takin it soooo much in the past yr.
Are you looking to to stay away from narcotics or are you okay with the possibility of taking thme long term if needed? do you have addiction in your passed, I don't mean to be nosey but it really makes a difference when deciding if you want to be beholden to narcotics for the rest of your life. yes there are great ones that help alot but they can also become part of the problem.
I'm only taking 4 10/325 a day....they help tremendously with a variety of pains I've had but I wanted to go without them. I have darvocet also...so I was just curious. I've been on the norco for probably 6-7 months.
My parents have a constant supply of pain pills all around their house, so I went from Percocet, to Darvocet, to Vicodin. I got a Rx for Norco and have been taking two every 4 hours. I quit those and since Dec. 13th I've been taking Darvocet and Vicodin constantly.
My husband has been so supportive, stayed with me through all the Ultram stuff, gets me through all this but now is getting really sick of the yo-yo-ing.
I pretty much hate myself and can't seem to get a hold of this.
About 5wks before op Docs started him on Vicodin,no help,went to Darvocet,no help..finally surgery, Percocet and Dilaudid THAT worked. Then home with Percocet only. Worked for a few days..back to ER Doc there gave Dilaudid Pills.Has had good recovery untill now, he has stopped Percocet cut down on Dilaudid....and is quite sick ,nauseated,weak,no appetite,loose stool.....are these withdrawal signs, is it to soon to stop meds?
How bad is the molar pain? I am assuming pretty bad. If you NEED them for the pain you are going to have to take them. Notice I said for the pain, not the other "false" feeling of well being. Stay with us and talk to us. We can give you support. You were almost at the edge of the forest on day 2. If you made it that far, you can get out of the woods. Stay focused on the goal.
How long would a newborn have needed to be exposed to percocet during a pregnancy to cause withdrawals after birth? I have a family member who swears up and down she only took the small amount that was prescribed to her for back pain in the last few weeks of her pregnancy. There has been a lot of suspicion about what was really going on with her throughout the pregnancy and she was known to take opiods before getting pregnant. Now the baby has been born and is experiencing withdrawals.
What is the danger or addiction potential problem with using Darvocet for pain relieve? And is getting off these things going to create bad WD's?? Any advice on this and some solutions for a plan? I have been on Vic's and Perc's before and got off those before, am I looking at the same WD's with these? I take 5-6 per day, please advice; thank YOU!!
