Percocet and darvocet

Common Questions and Answers about Percocet and darvocet

percocet

Avatar n tn I feel that the percocet is running my life and I hate taking this drug. Last year I tried a pain clinic and every medicine they gave me made me sick. I'm also worried about how the Darvon will interact with Adivan I take at night. I forgot to ask that question when the doctor gave me the perscription. I just happen to run across this website and thought someone could give me advice on what I'm facing tomorrow morning.
731137 tn?1231482514 I have been diagnosed with severe fibromialgia about a year and a half ago. I am seeing a rheumotologist and he has me on amytriptolyn and darvocet. I have been doing fine but now I am getting immuned to the darvocet. He refuses to try something else and will not prescribe an increase in dose. He is beginning to treat me like I am a nuisance. I mean my friends say that trying something different could help.

475300 tn?1312423126 Have only had one treatment and it takes at least 4 or 5 to feel any benefits. Is Darvocet and fierocet similar to percocet? I'm currrently tapering off bother percocet and oxy 10mgs. I hope that some here can offer better answers than I can, I can just offer my support as a fellow fibromyalgia sufferer....
Avatar f tn My parents have a constant supply of pain pills all around their house, so I went from Percocet, to Darvocet, to Vicodin. I got a Rx for Norco and have been taking two every 4 hours. I quit those and since Dec. 13th I've been taking Darvocet and Vicodin constantly. My husband has been so supportive, stayed with me through all the Ultram stuff, gets me through all this but now is getting really sick of the yo-yo-ing. I pretty much hate myself and can't seem to get a hold of this.
Avatar m tn Oxycodone also has an option without Tylenol. it is available in a 5 mg strength so this may be an option too. You need to discuss this with your doctor and ask him what options he/she can offer. I would highly suggest not going in and asking for a specific drug, this raises huge red flags. Just speak to your doctor and inform them that the Darvocet is not controlling the pain and that your concerned about the Tylenol content on a daily basis and they will adjust your medicines accordingly.
Avatar f tn I posted earlier asking bout darvocet helping with percocet withdrawals and I replied under a different name I didn't realize that u was on another acct the acct I made a mistake and posted under was abritt121222 which is actually my roomates acct and I don't know if any of y'all remember talking to him or not but he is now almost two months clean and doing great and he is the one that told me u should come on here because it helped him so much to talk to other ppl but I didn't r

Avatar n tn I have severe scoliosis, deteriorating disks and bone spurs in my neck. With Darvocet being withdrawn from the market, my doctor put me on Tramadol, 2 x day. Today is my first day on the new meds, I feel rather out of sorts but not too bad yet. Can't tell yet whether it's helping pain or not, since I always hurt. Has anyone else switched to Tramadol? With the Darvocet dose I've been on, can I expect severe withdrawal symptoms? Thanks for your input.
Avatar f tn not exactly..oxy in theory is a bit stronger than hydro..and sub is a different type of narcotic than the other 2..but conversoin charts do compare the strength of sub to other narcotics..but it is not really the effect they r comparing//but the strength...i do believe there is a conversion chart in avisg's journal...
Avatar f tn ve had severe w/ds since the first day of no perc even w the darvocet. Threw away the rest of the darvocet cuz I want out. I jus wana know when this will end I guess. I prolly effed up by takin the darvocet n not jus stoping huh? Well I'm the type of person who works when dying n I've been workin a 6 day strech. Its killin me. I've taken 3 immoidum pills in the past 2 days but nothing else... what helps? I can't do tynol anymore EVER! I've takin it soooo much in the past yr.
1497103 tn?1289007172 The way it sound you don't even wan to get off the darvocet? As your tolerance grows you will continue to taking more and more to try and achieve the same effects. The thing is, once you cross that line that same effect will no longer be achieved. Have you tried any over the counter pain reliever? Darvocet is one of the weaker of the narcotic pain meds and really don't provide much more relief than what prescription strength ibuprofen does.
702286 tn?1239011660 I am about to begin a cold turkey detox at home from darvocet and percocet. the darvs are perscribed. the percs i buy because i ALWAYS eat my pills up in just a few days. got any pearls of wisdom for the LONG TERM pill head?
Avatar f tn I just turned 30yrs old (female) was sick for 6yrs before they figured out what was wrong with me so ive been thru the ringer as far as pain medications etc..I have chronic pancreatitis and had half my pancreas removed less than a year ago.. And still dealing with surgical pain and the continual pain from the pancreatitis.I'm on morphine 2 15mg every 4hrs which worked, well, it worked really good at first now it won't even help make a headache go away!
233622 tn?1279334905 m taking--they are very aware--and they keep prescribing because my breakthrough pain is unbearable. Like the Darvocet, Percocet doesn't do much for me and I am concerned about how much acetominophen flows through my body every day since I'm also a heart patient and therefore, take statin drugs for cholesterol, and all the acetominophen and statin drugs can damage the liver.
Avatar n tn The drug can be used to ease physical withdrawal symptoms in opiate addicts but is not as effective on mental cravings. Other drugs can interfere with the effectiveness of Darvocet, and some people are unable to metabolize it.
Avatar n tn I just got home after having my broken knee cap put back together (knee surgery with screws and wire). I am on the couch with a lot of pain and at least for the next few days I am taking 5mg of Oxycodone, every 3-4 hours, depending on pain levels. I am really struggling to get my blood sugar levels even close to normal. For what it's worth, I am on an insulin pump and have great control (I avg. 5.8 A1C's).
Avatar f tn I had the same situation. A few weeks after stopping Darvocet I needed a big molar removed and it hurt like hell for 2 weeks and I HAD to take Percocet. My hand would often shake a little when I looked at that pill in my hand resisting like hell not wanting to take it. 5 years ago I tore up my foot in an ATV accident and was concerned about becoming addicted to Percocet. A very wise nurse told me...
Avatar f tn I have an absessed (sp?) tooth and my dr prescribed me darvocet. I also have asthma and I have noticed that my chest is tight and it is harder to breathe. I have only been taking this for 2 days now and only 1 tablet about every 4-5 hours while awake. Is this normal?
401095 tn?1351391770 I have some serious addiction trouble with vicodin, oxy, tramadol, phentenyl, and percocet. Please hang in there and by the grace of God, you will just fine. Dad of 8 (soon to be 10!
1736894 tn?1310599736 Many women with endo are also gluten intolerant. I do that and I also take Oregon Wild Harvest Turmeric (I have tried four different brands and this is the only one that works.) (If you have liver problems or are on blood thinners then you cannot take it.) Also my sister has found that vicoproferan (vicadin with a combo of advil) is a great drug.
Avatar m tn With my first child (i was 16) my doc. gave me a script for darvocet and loratab 10 i had major headaches and was taking one each every 4 hours like he suggested. My son never had any with drawl symptoms.
2079321 tn?1333662977 I know the feeling. That's a tough place to be when we paint ourself into a corner like that. I had been clean from Darvocet for a few months and needed a molar pulled, the pain was intense and I had to take Percocet for 3 weeks until it finally calmed down. I was terrified taking those pills but I had to or I would have jumped off a cliff. Now, years ago when I was healing from foot surgery I kept telling the nurses how afraid I was of getting addicted to Percocet.
Avatar m tn After 1 pill I could not believe it. I was totally pain free, no trigger fingers no anything bad. Ultram, Darvocet and Percocet did nothing to quiet the pain. Obviously hand surgeons don’t recommend it; because it would put them out of business. It is 6 months now that I have been taking it. Two nights last week I didn’t take my pills, the Nupragen being one that I forgot. The next morning I couldn’t believe the pain I was in.
