Business woman1 If you were my patient, I would advise you that you may need to request a different pain medication from your provider. Nausea and vomitting is a common side effect of Percocet and other narcotic pain medications. Often there is a different formulation (such a Vicodin or other) which you can use without problems. Good luck!

Avatar f tn How long are the effects of a percocet 40MG supposed to last? A friend gave them to me to help with pain, but it is WAY too strong... How to I stop the dizziness and nausea? Please help!
539990 tn?1219478355 I am on day 2 of withdrawing off of 80-100 mgs of percocet per day. I have followed the thomas recipe before and am using xanax. Can I take a soma 350 at nite to sleep for insomnia? Thanks so much?
Avatar f tn I was prescribed Percocet for severe muscle spasms in my back. Usually 1 or 2 would nip the spasm before it got too bad. Then I discovered it helped me sleep also! I also found it helped my mood, i.e., made me more talkative to my husband, more interesting. You all know the rest of the story. I am on day 9 without taking any Percs - but I've made a terrible mistake in taking Ambien, Valium or Xanax to help me sleep.
Avatar n tn I am currently taking Oxycodone 10/325 for a back injury and I am physically addicted. I see a Pain Management Doctor and everything. There has been a couple of times when I have ran out of my meds ie..weekends, and It was the most horrible thing i have ever felt. I will be finally kicking it soon though, well tapering off. This forum is great so you have came to the perfect place.

Avatar f tn I have been taking Percocet 1-2 a day for several years fairly consistently. I have lupus and on dialysis daily now. I take them in the morning and they help me have energy, but I do have legitimate aches and pains and did when I started taking them. I have been on Prednisone for about 6 years and in the last few months have gotten off. I am thrilled and would like to be off Percocet. I dont know if my symptoms are from the Percocet use itself at this point.
Avatar n tn Hello, Last week I decided to quit taking percocets cold turkey and went through all the withdrawal syptoms (sweats, nausea, depressions etc) anyways I didn't use them for 4-5 days but then yesterday took 45 mg of percocet again. I am pissed at myself and determined not to sure again. Should I expect to go through all the withdrawal symptoms again?
Avatar f tn I'm scared that I am addicted and that I won't know what to do to stop it before it completely ruins me. I've been taking Percocet for a while now. The 512 one, I'm not sure what dosage it is, I never really paid attention to those things. All I know is that I get very, very bad pain and have to take them. I typically end up taking two a day.. but have been trying to take only one.
Avatar m tn i have been takeing percocet for 2 years for back pain when it started it was 1 10 mg pill every 6 hrs. i now take 360 or more per doctor gives me 160 per mo.
Avatar m tn A friend of mine is snorting percocet and she hasn't had any for at least a day. She is starting to go thru withdraw. How long will this last and is there anything I can do to help her get thru it? It kills me inside to stand by and watch her suffer.
Avatar m tn My 25 year old son called me 2 hours ago and told me he has been taking Percocet for the past 2 months. He tried to stop and is having horrible withdrawal symptoms. He is coming to stay with me for the next 4-5 days so I can help him through it. I have no idea what I am up against. He has no insurance and just started a new job so he can't go into any treatment facility. It's up to the two of us. Any advice would be most appreciated.
Avatar n tn If you want something stronger, try ginger beer (it's not alcoholic, but it can be hard to find in a regular grocery store). Both help with nausea, but the effect doesn't last all that long. Beyond that, for bad nausea with quick onset, try Emetrol. It's OTC and available in brand-name or generic in any drugstore. It really works, but again, doesn't necessarily last long. If what you've got is worse than that, talk to your doc. There are prescription meds that work well.
Avatar n tn You probably can take them together as they are different types of medication. Promethazine is for nausea and percocet is for pain. They will make you extremely sleepy, so be in bed and ready to rest. Hope you feel better soon.
Avatar f tn Over the last year or two, my menstrual cramps have gotten much worse. I get chills and shakes, aches in my joints, nausea, headache, and massive cramps. I've tried heating pads, lots of fluids, bed rest, Aleve, and other OTC pain relief. I went to see a new midwife for my last annual about 18 mo ago and forgot to mention it to her, then felt embarrassed to call in about it.
Avatar f tn I never used to be on percocet for long periods of time, until about 10 months ago I went on percocet for the migraines. He put me on the 5/325 for about 8 months, 2 months ago my doctor put me on the 10/325. When my doctor prescribed the 10/325 i was to take 1 every 12 hours, well that didn't happen. I was taken 1 about every 2 or 3 hours. My doctor prescribes me 100 percocet a month. Well the last week, I don't have enough left for the last week.
Avatar m tn As of this posting, I am taking Percocet 10/325 5 times a day and Xanax 2mg twice a day for chronic migraines. I have been on everything made for migraines with no relief. The percocets are starting to wear off sooner than they should. What would be the next step up from Percocet. I want to be able to ask my doctor about taking something a bit stronger to see if it helps. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn I am amazed that my doctor allowed me to have percocet withdrawal. Although sympathetic I was not advised of it. I found out about while trying to find a site like this. Thanks again and kudos. I was sick from the emotions, had a urinary tract infection to boot and was also a false negative. Too have to discover withdrawal symptoms through the web is still a shock to me. I can not believe all these stories. YES I CAN! Doctors are human. I'm still so weak and sick.
Avatar f tn I have been taking percocet my entire pregnancy. It began prescribed by my doctor and after she stopped prescribing I continued to take them. I am Currently 34 weeks pregnant. I have been taking 10-50 mg a day. I am stopping now as to pass the drug test, but have been reading about kids born ok, and then having behavioral/sensory problems as they age. Does anyone have experience with this that the can share with me?
Avatar n tn I am trying to take only 10 percocet a day and survive. WHat does 10 percocet equate to in terms of ES vicodin? I am having some pretty nasty nausea at night and heart palpitations and nausea dizzyness. I have cut down overnight from 14 to 15 pills daily to 10 pills daily and it is causing me some of the nastiest withdrawal I have ever had yet from it. I think I tried to taper off to quick, but in the past I have never had to taper like this.
Avatar f tn i have been on percocet 10/325 for nearly 4 yrs and my ortho added 2/20 mg oxycontin 2 months ago because the percocets don't last very long anymore. i've got bone fragments in my neck & a lower back injury which caused total paralysis twice (temporarily) a few years ago & am on disability for such among other illnesses, which may or may not include scleroderma and/or R.A.
Avatar n tn I forgot to mention, the amount of percocet, vicodin, and tylox (primarily percocet)I have been using on a daily basis. 6 years ago I was introduced to percocet (maybe it was matter, its all the same in one way or another)by a friend who had had a wisdom tooth pulled. I knew nothing about them before that night, though for some reason, I cant ever remember being happy before them....but I guess I was.
Avatar n tn After not sleeping and hurting all of the time I went back and told him this just wasn't working, he then put me on percocet 10mg. I am now taking 4 pills at one time and go through a bottle in 2 days. I finally had surgery a month ago and the pain is still VERY BAD, not from the actual surgery but the same pain as before the surgery. I am taking the pain meds to relieve the pain and they do VERY LITTLE, it just dulls it enough for me to get out of bed.
Avatar n tn I was just switched yesterday from 5-6 Percocet 5mg to Fentanly. My stomach can not take the percocet, vicodin or any other oral narcotics anymore. I had an endoscopy done 2 months ago and they did not find anything wrong in my stomach. I end up going to the ER 1-2 times a month with severe stomach upset where I am in tears and barley walking. I have nerve pain in the left side of my neck and arm.
Avatar n tn percocet 10/325, oxycodone extended release 20 mg. I started taking more and noticed that if i just take a lot every day, I don't ever get a migraine, at all. So I'd say I'm taking btween 80-100 mg. total a day. Last week I tried to stop, because I am getting close to my due date and don't want to have a baby born addicted. Well the withdrawals were awful.
Avatar m tn I'm opiate, oxy addict too, it took 4 days for me to get over the watery eyes, runny nose, nausea and vomiting, flushed face etc. Now going into day 7 and the chills and cold sweats have just let up. You CAN get there!
