percocet

Avatar m tn She usually only uses the actuator instead of manually to the manipulations when dealing with the elderly, because the elderly have special needs and are more fragile than younger adults. My chiropractor will allow the elderly to warm up with the heating pad to relax the muscles. She does that for me, too, as that seems to be the only thing that works for me, too, even though I'm nowhere near to being elderly.
Avatar f tn He offered help me to sweep the floor/yard. Hanging and picking up the clothes. He also concentrated on the weather make sure he picked up the clothes before it rained. He'll miss if he slept all the day long! LOL. He liked sleep (usually longer hour than us). He said to me, when getting old all the bones shrink, so can feel the body aching. He said exercise is important. Even he was on the bed, he also moving his toes and fingers a lot.
Avatar n tn Go with lots and lots of fiber, at least the minimun daily requirement and this should help unless she is developing IBS. Try this and if it doesn't work have her see a GI dr.
Avatar n tn Percocet IS oxycodone. Oxycodone is the opiate ingredient in percocet. The -cet part denotes that there is acetominophen (tylenol) in the pill as well, so percocet is actually oxycodone with tylenol.
Avatar m tn 30 in the morning (damnit), and then take a bath with salt and sometimes get another hour or two if I am lucky. I think I have had two nights of full sleep in the past two weeks, my body finally gets so tired that it gives up. I am getting some sleep though. Last Thursday, I started getting one of the symptoms that had bothered me so bad before I went on the pain pills 18 months ago. My Dr described it as laryngospasm, and its basically like a charlie horse of the vocal chords.
Avatar n tn Yeah, it's pretty much the opiate count. The /500 is the tylenol and is supposed to help kick in the opiate but I've found that the 2nd number is really irrelevant for someone who has been using for awhile. I take 10mg's of oxycodone 3x a day. There is no tylenol in them.... just the opiate and some other minor additives. For me there is no differnce between a 10mg oxycodone or a 10/500mg percocet even though they are both oxycodone. So yeah....
Avatar m tn t go now his body will force him to go eventually and it may be too late. By nipping things in the bud we can prevent any serious problems in the future. You should also get him on probiotics either a supplement or yogurt enriched with it. We are more apt to develop polyps after the age of 50 and that's why they suggest we start having colonoscopies at age 50.
1278098 tn?1297646373 I had reconstructive knee surgery 19 months ago that left me with 8 screws, a hinge and a plate in my knee. I work in a nursing home caring for the sick elderly. I was on Perks for 3 years and have quit 32 days ago. I am having a hard time managing my pain..I take Tylonal and anti inflammatories...is there anyone out there that has any suggestions for pain management? I am at my wits end and I will not go back to anything that is addictive.
Avatar n tn Are the blood blisters in the arms and legs of some elderly a vitamin or mineral deficiency? If so, what will help? This discussion is related to blood blisters.
Avatar f tn Hi. 5'10" Gent, and brand spankin newbie to this site. i just turned 56 in April. In my journal August. 12, 2013, I recorded wgt. 247.5 lb, BP 157/101, severe depression & anxiety with heaart palpitations and mid-nightime panic attacks. Also using CPAP setting of 14cm for severe sleep apnea, and suffered almost daily migraines. Plus my triglicerides were, as my dr put it, "through the roof!
Avatar f tn The fact is that too much opiate will slow your respritory system down it is a central nervous system depressant as well are benzos which are commonly mixed together and even prescribed together and there are some combos that can in fact be deadly in the wrong doses..please everyone be careful!
Avatar m tn (proudly I might add), she said it was an opioid. So my question is, does opioids do the same thing as far as our receptors, and endorphins in our brains from percocets. With the patch she said she has never felt the things I described to her. I was just curious, does fentanyl patches work the same way as percocets? And what is the difference btw. a opioid, vs. opiate? The more knowledgable to all these drugs the better huh.
161427 tn?1229911282 I would like to do a short experiment by taking my mother-in-law off Plavix for a few days while she is in her normal living conditions at the nursing home. However, I have not seen dementia listed in any materials related to Plavix, so no one caring for my mother-in-law takes this idea seriously. Does anyone have any experience with this situation? Could it be dangerous to take her off the Plavix for a few days? Are there any substitutes for Plavix that might work better?
Avatar f tn She has just seemed a bit unsettled since this peeing in the house started. I know she is elderly and that some things may seem inevitable. I was wondering if this could be a bladder infection or kidney trouble?

She is in Trinidad and Tobago right now on holiday for the past month and the pains in the left side of her head started coming back. She is in extreme pain and I am seeking anyone's help in identifying the nature, cause and proposed treatment of this strange occurrence. Please help us. Thank You!
Avatar n tn Hi Grace, She has the horrible burning in her back. She was diagnosed with "shingles" several years ago after a doctor noticed the blisters. Most of the time she doesn't break out, but just has the internal symptoms. They are almost always on her back. She has had several different episodes in the last year or so and they usually last for weeks. She was diagnosed this week from a blood test. She had a really severe case of shingles years and years ago. Thanks!
Avatar f tn According to an article in the international journal Research on Aging in 2009, the elderly population in China will have tripled by 2050. Norway and China are in many ways extreme opposites when it comes to family policy. Under China's policy responsibility for the family rests entirely with families themselves. There are almost no institutions for the elderly, and few elderly people receive pensions.
495284 tn?1333894042 If worse comes to worse, do they sell puppy pads for the floor as they do in Britain? I am house training Lady at the moment but have decided to go it alone without them, might help for an older dog though.
Avatar n tn Risperdal is a so-called "blacklisted" drug because of the high incidence of fatalities in the elderly. It is not approved nor appropriate for a use in an "agitated" eighty year old patient. The Department of Geriatrics at Johns Hopkins University conducted a dedicated seminar at Mount Sinai Hospital geriatrics department three years ago warning against inappropriate use of risperdal in the elderly.
352798 tn?1399298154 I decided after being clean for 97 days that I will flush the pills in my cupboard. I was never tempted to use them even though I knew they were there. When I made up my mind to get clean, I made an irrevocable decision to not use. I write about the pills today to help others know they can do this too. Many of you will have to go through getting clean with drugs around you or easily obtainable. Don't use that as an excuse to take them!
Avatar n tn it is not usual for them to continue to up the dosage and strength of an opiate. Especially with the elderly you have to take into consideration possible depressed respiratory complications. If she is not getting treated adequately, then I would help her find another that is giving her more modalities to treat and prevent these. Good luck..
Avatar f tn are hydrocodin, percocet, roxicodone and tramadol in the same ingredients family meaning if i took a vicodin i should be okay to take a roxicodone or tramadol because they have some of the same ingredients in them thanks for the time to whoever answers the post
