Avatar f tn Acetaminophen-oxycodone has been assigned to pregnancy category C by the FDA. Acetaminophen is routinely used for short-term pain relief and fever in all stages of pregnancy. Acetaminophen is believed to be safe in pregnancy when used intermittently for short durations. Use of narcotic analgesics in late pregnancy is associated with the risk of neonatal withdrawal. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy.

Avatar f tn While I was there, they gave me an iv with fluids, 60mg of prednisone, and because my hives were painful and did not itch they gave me 20mg of percocet. With my fever and generally feeling of being out of it, I did not tell them I am a addict, not to mention my husband was there and he doesn't know of the situation. Anyways, I am worried how I will feel tomorrow with the percocet being in my system. Am I going to feel any type of withdrawl? Do I have to start my ticker over?
Avatar f tn Yeah thats quite a bit of Percocet...sorry I misunderstood. Well hopefully you can figure out a good tapering schedule that fits your needs. And like I wrote above...if you have someone to help and distribute your meds according to the schedule...it does help a lot.
Avatar m tn 2 days ago, woke up with medium egg size hard lump in scrotum on right side behind testicle, fever. went to hospital yesterday after it was size of XL egg. not ingrunal hernia. they said was abcess from ingrown hair or clogged pore. sliced and drained scrotum. minimal pus removed. antibiotics and percocet prescribed. today, lump is approximately 6 inches long x 2 inches wide x 1 inch thick. scrotum is size of softball. i think they diagnosed me wrong. fever is still at 100.
Avatar n tn Percocet is a strong, habit forming, opiate medication. It is prescribed for the treatment of moderate to severe pain. It should never be used in any other way, for any other reason, unless there was some unusual circumstance that your doctor dictated the usage of Percocet for some other purpose. The BEST thing to do, always, if you're having an issue, or problems with your medications, is to discuss the options with your doctor.
Avatar n tn Hi and welcome to MedHelp. I also take percocet along with neurontin (gabapentin). The gabapentin is very similar to lyrica. I drink coffee 4-5 days per week and I haven't encountered any issues and I have been on percocet for almost a year and gabapentin for almost 2 years. I don't think there are any severe reactions when coffee is mixed with percocet or lyrica or both.
Avatar m tn I've been taking low doses of Percocet since July 2010. I've had three surgeries, and major stomach pain so have been taking prescribed Percocet for the pain. At most I've taken maybe three a day, most of the time just taking a half of one at three meals in order to eat. I stopped taking them on Sunday evening, was my last one. Monday afternoon I started with abdominal pain, pain in my back, a high fever, and diarrhea.
Avatar n tn I had rotator cuff surgery 5 weeks ago. In first week, took 8 5mg-325 percocet for surgery pain. After that, took two pills 2-3 times a day for about 3 weeks. For past two weeks, have taken 2 pills once or twice a day. Am now taking 2 pills once a day, but have severe flu -- sweating, fever, runny nose, weak. Can this be withdrawal? Can I get addicted in just 5 weeks, with the last few weeks taking only 2-6 pills a day?
Avatar m tn m on a program. If he does, will Percocet even work? What would be a good dosage for me? Can anyone help me here? I truly appreciate your time. Thanks a bunch!
2079321 tn?1333662977 I had been clean from Darvocet for a few months and needed a molar pulled, the pain was intense and I had to take Percocet for 3 weeks until it finally calmed down. I was terrified taking those pills but I had to or I would have jumped off a cliff. Now, years ago when I was healing from foot surgery I kept telling the nurses how afraid I was of getting addicted to Percocet. What they told me about that ended up being true because I lived it. They said...
Avatar n tn My doc did Cystoscopy on me day before yesterday, since then I have pain in urinating, yesterday the pain really elevated and since the test I can only pass drops to urinate. I have on and off fever and feeling cold plus I'm shiverring badly. Every time I try to pee, it burns and severe pain emerges, and I can only pass drops. Is this some kind of reaction to the test is it normal?
Avatar f tn t begin to explain the relief that one percocet gave me. It kept me from giving up on making milk for my baby. I was ready to quit. I haven't even had to take another one and it's been 15 hours since I took it. I wish I had taken it the night before when I was in agony all night.
Avatar m tn first I was diagnosed with two benign tumors and they had me on Percocet 10 for about a month, shortly after my surgery I started getting leg cramps, they would last all day unless I took a pain pill. the doc then switched me to Norco for the leg pains, I have been to neurologists, chiropractors, pain clinics, accupuncunture and nothing helped! so now I'm thinking the leg pains were from the Percocet withdrawel?
2217169 tn?1371483722 feels that way sometimes, i have created a support system for myself... i'm taking one minute at a time.... hoping for the best...
Avatar f tn I have only been taking percocet for less than 3 wks now, (had an Acl repair on my knee) and by wk 2 I was on 3 percs a day, then when I dropped down to 2 thats when the horrible withdrawals came. I would get horrible stomach cramping, diarreah, and sweats for about 5hrs or untill my next dose. Then I realized i was in fact having withdrawls and started breaking up the pills through out the day, and I have enough pills left to drop 1/4 pill every 2 days.
Avatar f tn I really feel your pain. Detox can be really rough. I know that some people on this forum have detoxed CT off of up to 200mg a day oxycontin habits. It probably can be done but it would be better to get some more information from some of the senior members of this forum. Just stick around and there will be plenty of people willing to help you out with support, advice, information etc. Just curious...What is the dosage of the percs you are taking? ...K.J.
Avatar f tn I have recently went back on methadone and was on percocet for pain management but have not taken the percocet I was taking for two weeks. I recently went in for my refill at the pain clinic and tested positive for percocet and honestly have not taken it in over 2 weeks and it was prescribed before the pain clinic. I told my PM Dr this and she said it cold be a false positive so is sending it into the lab and if it comes back I had percocet in my system, I will be discharged, and It has me mad!
Avatar m tn well it turns out that i had to have surgery to repair my foot. after the surgery i was taking about 60mg of percocet per day for about 3 days for the pain and then kind of stopped abruptly. it was at this point i started feeling kind of crappy and having chills and sweats which i thought might be from stopping the percocet.
Avatar f tn So yes i want off i dont know if it helps with the pain or not i only tried the percocet for 1 week and told dr forget this i dont want to rely on these and need more and more. But now i think thats exactly whats happened when i started the suboxone.. Yes its the same dr. I ave only ever had 1 dr..
Avatar f tn About 5wks before op Docs started him on Vicodin,no help, went to Darvocet,no help..finally surgery, Percocet and Dilaudid THAT worked. Then home with Percocet only. Worked for a few days..back to ER Doc there gave Dilaudid Pills.Has had good recovery untill now, he has stopped Percocet cut down on Dilaudid....and is quite sick ,nauseated, weak,no appetite, loose stool.....are these withdrawal signs, is it to soon to stop meds?
Avatar n tn Sometimes common things like constant crying and irritability can be mistaken for withdrawal, however if your infant is withdrawling badly you can also expect loose stools, runny nose, fever, tremors, etc. I believe the length of time would be the same for anyone - a few days. But infants bodies can't handle it the way that we could (hell, I barely felt like I could as an adult!) so the right thing to do if that were to happen would be to notify the hospital immediately.
Avatar f tn People who use Percocets illicitly and attempt to do a Percocet detoxification, are at a high risk of severe withdrawal symptoms as they tend to use higher than prescribed doses. The symptoms of Percocet withdrawal are the same as for other opiate based painkillers and may include anxiety, nausea, weakness, flu like symptoms, fever, diarrhea, muscle pain or spasm and lowered blood pressure.
Avatar m tn Irritability and excessive crying Shakiness (tremors) Hyperactive reflexes Fast breathing Increased stools Sneezing Yawning Vomiting Fever. However, pregnancy Category C medicines, including Percocet, may be given to a pregnant woman if her healthcare provider believes that the benefits to the woman outweigh any possible risks to the unborn child.
706250 tn?1232453817 I recently was dx with MS and have chronic pain in back, neck, down both legs and in my head, which is where they dx my MS, I have a large mass in my brain tissue and only difference is my spinal fluid is clear.
Avatar m tn I was given Percocet for pain. The encounter happened on a saturday morning. That monday i took a percocet right before going to sleep and woke up tuesday morning throwing up. At first i thought it was from the medicine because of the way the throwup tasted. I have then just been freaking out. Would hiv symptoms happen after just 3-4 days?? I just want to know what people who know alot about this have to say.
Avatar f tn I will live with pain for the rest of my life. I was prescribed oxyxontin 40mg 3 times a day plus 10mg Percocet for breakthrough pain. After my botched hip replacement (at age 51) I was searching for a magic cure and was willing to take the pain killers. When I realized this would be forever I wanted to stop the opiates. My doctor gave me a slow withdrawal - every week I went to a lower dose 2 times a day. But when I got to 10mg the schedule was 10mg once a day. Huh?
Avatar f tn He also gave me 60- 5/325 percocet to last for three months. I asked for 30 total. Not wanting to use the stronger ones I have. The doctor usually gives me 3 months of scripts at one time, predated. Since the 100 mcgs of the Fentynal had been ineffective after 24 hours, I asked the doctor if extending the patch change to 72 hours wasn't TO MUCH of a change since I have been on 100 mcgs of Fentynal for about 4 years or maybe longer. He said " try it".
