percocet

Avatar f tn m new and have been reading what everyone wrote I hade been taking percocet 10 and. Ultram for well over a year and tomorrow will be day one without them. I have been here befor and never have made it past day two and need help! I more than anything want to kick this. I have 3 kids and they need a good mom they don't understand why I get depressed can't even cook dinner. Please if you have advice I will take anything.
Avatar f tn When I told my doctor that I wanted off they were supportive. Gave me ambien, clonodine patch and I have been on klonopin for months for horrible panic attacks related to my brothers death. They also gave me ultram. I haven't taken much maybe a few a day (I get absolutely 0 feeling/high from them) but they said it would help. Has this whole 80+ hours been a waste? Am I going to go thru this again when I stop the ultram.
Avatar n tn ultram may help, but be careful with it, it is the DOC of many here. it is very addicted and the w/ds i hear are worse than hydros. please read up on here about it.
Avatar f tn t want withdrawls either. Also, are the effects like that of Lortab or Percocet? Have to go to work and need to know what to expect. Thank you kindly in advance for your assistance.
Avatar n tn I have 2 kids and I feel like when I take the percocet I am a better and more fun more. I like the buzz and like to do more fun things with them. I am really afraid that when I am clean I will not feel that same way. I guess I am just looking for some reassurance with all of this. Can I get through this? Can I deal with the aftermath? Please help me!
Avatar f tn t sit still, i have to shake back and forth, heart palpations, just plain old miserable, so i take just 1 percocet and in 30 min, i fall back to sleep, thank God. 2) I am going to have surgery and i am scared that i will NOT have pain relief, i currently take 3 percocets at a time because i built up such a tolerance. What to do? I have battled opiates for years now.....
1225178 tn?1318980604 My body aches have intensified in severity and and frequency in the past few weeks and since Tylenol doesn't work for me, I was taking Ibuprofen 2 to 3 times a day and it started getting to the point where my stomach felt kind of raw when I'd take it. I told my doctor about this and he told me that he didn't want me taking Ibuprofen more than once a day. He wrote me a prescription for Ultram which says it is for moderately severe pain.
Avatar f tn I guess to some people it may sound minor (the amount), but I am concerned. My plan is to wean off Ultram in the next 2 weeks, and than the Percocet.
406036 tn?1216188561 I was able to control the dose combard to the the Ultram. Ultram is the same as Tramadol except that you only take one pill with Ultram...and you have to wait for results. While you are severe pain, that is a long time to wait especially since vicodin and tramadol works faster. Since you will figure that out, you will find yourself taking more ultram just to make sure that you can have the least amount of pain possibe. I felt myself taking another Ultram because the pain was blinding.
Avatar f tn Lona11 Member since Jun 2008 , Jun 30, 2008 08:27PM As someone else on here said, I use Ultram (tramadol) when I don't have percocet to avoid the withdrawal. When I take the Ultram, I won't have any withdrawal at all but if I didn't have any percocets or Ultram, I would go right into opiate withdrawal. The good part of the tramadol though is I don't crave them the way I want the Percocets.
Avatar f tn I have been on 10/325 percocet/ 50mg ultram for the last 3 months. 90 percocet a month and about 60 ultram a month. I am not addicted, I take the meds as prescribed for my pain but I want to eliminate opiates and synthetic meds all together but I am afraid of withdrawals. Is it something I can do at home or do I need treatment?
Avatar f tn Im taking one percocet 10-325 wih three 300mg of gabapentin every 6hrs.Its not helping with chronic arthritis that has taken over my body, sciatica, carpal tunnel on both hands(had surgery on one already) restless leg syndrome. Also, had knee replacement on one leg(2 yrs ago) and have to get one on the other. What can i use instead? .. I've taken the highest mgs. of percocet and vicodin switching between both and weaning between both. And done that, did that on the cortisone shots.
Avatar f tn I have been using Ultram-100mg. tablets since January. My rhuematologist put me on it, 2 tablets -four times a day just this past week. We've grown from 2 a day to 8, I never miss a pill (I take 18 pills in all per day.)The Ultram helps better than not being on anything for the pain. I was on Lyrica and then Neurontin and the side effects were terrible. I've also done the Lorecet, Percocet and Vicadin.
Avatar n tn can topomax be used for opiate (percocet) withdrawal? I have heard that ultram is good for that but then you are addicted to the ultram. I also heard neurontin is helpful and that topomax is similar so I wondered if anyone had tried topomax for withdrawal.
Avatar f tn i am going thru the worst withdrawals cold turkey after taking percocet, vicodin, ultram and ativan for over two years. No one will help me thru this and I am all alone. I have not slept, or eaten in three days. I am about to give up. I am looking at a full bottle of muscle relaxers and they are looking pretty good right now. I I just cannot do this. Help???
Avatar f tn thanks to this site chat room and people getting me through. So, I ended up having a C-section and had to take percocet for the pain. It spiraled out of control from there. My parents have a constant supply of pain pills all around their house, so I went from Percocet, to Darvocet, to Vicodin. I got a Rx for Norco and have been taking two every 4 hours. I quit those and since Dec. 13th I've been taking Darvocet and Vicodin constantly.
680303 tn?1239984840 There is just so much out there, meaning, in my opinion, not a great deal and the most used ones like percocet, make me sick. So far, the ultram did help somewhat and esp. when combined with the ms contin. I really don't want to make it complicated. As many have said it is trial and error. Thanks again, everyone for your help. Iwish you all well. Blessings.
Avatar m tn Ultram is nothing more than the Brand name for Tramadol and Ultram ER is a timed release of Tramadol. Ultracet is merely Tramdol and Tylenol in the same pill.
Avatar f tn Ultram withdrawal is worse than Vicodin withdrawal. And I'm not sure bout Vicodin but percocet is actually safer for the baby than ultram.
Avatar f tn Hi Pajo, I'm so sorry you are feeling bad. Try to hang in there and know that there is light at the end of the tunnel. When is your next appt? They should be able to give you a proper taper schedule to help minimize your withdrawals. I'm a little confused about the Ultram. Is this the first time you've taken this? It's Ultram ER, and they are telling you to take 1/2 pill at a time? In addition to the Oxy?
Avatar f tn i have many health conditions and chronic pain. i was taking ultram, percocet, ativan and sometimes vicodin when i could get it to help with some of the w/d's sometimes, i always had a back up of ultram but they are gone as well. i am shaking so bad i could not even drive, and i don't have any money for the thomas recipe.
Avatar f tn You should return to him/her and address these issues. If you want to discontinue the percocet he should be willing and able to assist you. You are certainly welcome here but we do have an Substance Abuse Community that you may want to post on also. Others will post with their experience and suggestions. I wish you the best and urge you to contact your physician. Please let us know how you are doing.
Avatar f tn Are you alone in all this? Looking at your name I'm going to assume your a mom....yes/no? These psychotic episodes sound very dangerous? Just wondering, you stated that your tapering, is it b/c your ready to quit? Or are you just trying to lower your dose? That seems life a lot of different medicines together, which I can't imagine is a good combination? Not to be too blunt, but are you looking to die?
Avatar m tn There are no opiates that are easy to come off of after long term use. Even Ultram can make you become dependent and has risk of seizures if taken in large amounts or stopped suddenly. Anything like this would need to be tapered down gradually after long term use so there will not be horrible wd's. The only pain relievers that are non-opiate and nonaddictive are otc meds like Ibuprophen, acetaminophen, and naproxen. There are no good answers when something stronger than an otc is needed.
Avatar f tn My brother on the other hand abuses it and likes it more than vicodin or percocet. He says it gives him energy and seems like an anti-depressant. I have heard it does act like an anti-depressant. I really think it just depends on the person, everyone has a different Drug of Choice.
