Percocet and migraines

Common Questions and Answers about Percocet and migraines

percocet

Avatar f tn That's what I think as well. I just didn't know if others had experience with it. I was a Pharmacy Tech for a number of years, so I know the dangers of narcotics and am extremely careful with how often I take it. My main concern is why I get the migraines. I was 17 when I was thrown from a snowmobile at 50mph. Even though it's been 14 years, I still get severe migraines and back/neck pain from the damage.
Avatar f tn 'cets are evil. If they help your migraines, accept that you might use them for the rest of your life. There's no cure for migraines and science doesn't know what causes them. If they're getting you a buzz, and you take them for a buzz, then watch out. Also, drink a glass of prune juice every day or take stoll softeners. Percs *will* cause constipation. Just tellin' you like it is.
Avatar f tn I take phenergan because with my migraines I also get very nauseous, but it also puts you to sleep, and sleep is the only cure for me.
Avatar m tn I have the same problem, I have had chronic migraines before pregnancy and they have gotten worse with this pregnancy. Just talk to your doc, I am sure there is something they can give you. I used to take percocets for my mine and they did tell me it was safe to continue taking them up until my third trimester.
Avatar f tn I'm 13 weeks and 6 days. I have history of serve migraines. I haven't got them as much over the last yr just here and there BUT since I've become pregnant I've experiencing them a lot. Sometimes I'm able to control them and other days the pain in unbearable. I started to feel one coming on last night so I took Tylenol, a hot shower, a warm cloth to back of my neck, and laid on heating pad. I woke up at 5 am crying my eyes out, throwing up, dizzy, and in so much pain.
Avatar f tn By the way. Percocet , and Vicodin are both a category C. "It is not known whether Percocet is harmful to an unborn baby, but it could cause breathing problems or addiction/withdrawal symptoms in a newborn. " Remember it's important to talk to your doctor if about the medications you're on. Good luck.

Avatar f tn If u take then as prescribed and your dr. knows I wouldn't worry I am taking lortab for my migraines and it is ok. I also worry about my baby being dependant and think I am going to try to stop a few months before delivery just to make sure but I wouldn't suffer in the meantime. Your dr may adjust your meds.

1565432 tn?1295252598 There are no problems with narcotics and pregnancy. Especially as early as you are. Percocet is also a very mild narcotic. You can take it safely and in fact pain will cause stress and many other related problems which are harmful for the baby. I have a disease and was on much stronger narcotics for my whole pregnancy - I have a healthy happy 4 year old and 2 month old. Don't worry!
Avatar f tn I have previously been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, a fractured spine, curvature reversal, buldging disks, pinched nerves, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, migraines, and high uric acid. They originally prescribed me percocet 7.5mg limit 6 a day, nuerontin 600mg tid, and esgic plus 50-500-40mg however my insurance stopped covering the percocet 7.5mg and so they had to prescribe me the 5/325!

1295973 tn?1279756268 Unfortunately, you also seem to have fallen into the trap that can happen with short-acting meds like vicodin and percocet. It becomes less effective so we take it more and more often in an effort to chase the pain. Next thing you know we have a huge tolerance and discover we're in withdrawal when the meds run out. You aren't the only person who has had this experience by a long shot.
Avatar n tn ve taking percocet for a while and I take a stonge does 10/650 two times a day. I have a very bad back and neck and was suppose to go in for facet blocks again to help with the pain. Avatar f tn The doc took her off of the indocin and started phenergan and vicodin as needed, which is pretty much every day. For those people who may have been thinking that these headaches are her way of getting out of school, she woke up at 8 am on Friday, the first day of their spring break, and said "Mom, I knew before I even opened my eyes that I had a migraine. What else can we do?" Will keep you updated. Thanks for your concern.

Avatar f tn I was since prescribed Fioricet which I had taken in the past with no luck, had an emergency trip back to the office for a shot of Toradol, also with no success, and now a prescription of Percocet which is also not helping. The only other option that was offered to me is a steroid infusion at the outpatient center at one of the hospitals. I am at wit's end. Can anyone offer me any suggestions as a treatment or perhaps a doctor in the New York City area?
