Common Questions and Answers about Percocet and alcohol

percocet

Avatar f tn Alcohol increases the affect but that can make it more dangerous. A good resource is the pharmacist. Also search on Google for alcohol and Lorazepam, percocet reactions.
Avatar f tn I am coming up to 5 years of sobriety and was recently introduced to Percocet (I am ashamed to say, I did not take these for pain)...as an addict I switched one drug to another. I cannot believe how this drug has got me! But then why not, I am no different than any other addict. I am familiar with the withdrawal symptoms of alcohol, but am not sure what to expect with coming off Percocet. I have 4 left..I am unable to stay home and ride it out....
Avatar m tn Since just taking percocet I itch incessently. Whats so weird about it is its worse when I ly on my back, which is how I sleep. Thank God for back scratchers!!! I rubb my back with rubbing alcohol, temp. relief. I can't take this anymore. Any suggestions?
Avatar m tn I think I have finally had enough. After taking that pill last night and risking danger to my liver along with the alcohol I have decided to try to quit.
Avatar f tn Lastly, the one thing you do want to be careful with is mixing alcohol with the percocet as the acetaminophen combined with alcohol can cause severe liver problems and even liver failure if the two are mixed on a regular basis. I hope your headache gets better soon.
Avatar n tn I'm in my 30s and do not drink but abuse percocet on and off throughout the year. My enzymes have never been elevated but now they are. I take 1300mg APAP (20mg oxycodone) at once and then 975mg APAP 4 hours later and then that is it for the day. I repeat this for 2 weeks and then go anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months off. No alcohol ever used in conjunction and rarely alcohol when not taking APAP. I quit using the painkillers 10 days before my test. My ALTs were 59.
Avatar n tn I apologized after we got home ( but I was so abusive in my comments that she left dinner without me and I walked home alone), and she accepted and understood my issues and all is good.
Avatar f tn Hi Angie, If you indeed want to free yourself from opiates, you're in a great position to do so. If you're doing that good at 36 hours you should be through any additional uncomfortable withdrawal fairly soon. Alcohol will make withdrawal rougher, at least it did for me the withdrawal before last. This time I stopped everything; Alcohol, an occasional Xanax and Vicodin. Like you, I got sick and tired of being sick and tired. I never want to go through that again.
Avatar f tn I'm 13 weeks pregnant I'm been on 10/325mg percocet and oxycodone 15 mg and I lost count how many I take all I know is a month supply can only last 2 weeks I have asked doctors for help to taper or to stop but I can't do it I keep reading about suboxone what is that and can I ask my doctor for it the withdrawal is very bad I pooped on myself in my sleep today and it hard I have three kids to tend to and at night my arm and legs are so restless they hurt I'm scared really scared I
Avatar m tn need more details regarding your usage? how much, how often, how long. etc. welcome and with more information many here can help you out.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed Percocet 5/325 9 weeks ago after foot surgery. I am a recovery alcoholic and drug addict, but pills was never my thing. I didn't realize how powerful the Percocet was. I took about 6-8 per day first couple of weeks, and now I can get off of them, even though I only take about 2 a day. I feel miserable and went to my doctor, who gave me Rx for Clonodine. Will this really help with w/d? How long before it kicks in, it's a patch. Help!
Avatar n tn Heart palpatations and irregular heart beats are a serious side effect of the medication. Since your friend has been taking percocet for years, he/she is addicted to the medication. When the medication starts to wear off, he/she is experiencing a withdrawal which can cause heart palpatations and irregular heart beats due to anxiety. Here's a list of side effects and severity: http://www.webmd.com/drugs/drug-7277-Percocet+Oral.aspx?
Avatar m tn - At dinner I take 3 shots vodka and a 10/325 Endocet. At night I I have one drink, 1mg Xanax, and 5/325 percocet. I go to bed early, before midnight. I dont sleep over two hours at once, up at 5am with the runs and withdraw next morning, go to bathroom, take shower, and start again. Duration of Endocet and percocet is one month. Alcohol is ten year. Xanax is 10 year. I do get two extra strength vicodins for DDD, but they hurt my stomach badly, so I take the Endocet and percocet.
18606336 tn?1466238386 I was in a horrible domestic violence situation in october and was prescribed percocet for the pain I was in. My knees were bad already but because of getting hurt in October I now have no cartilage left in my left knee. The percocet helped me so much woth my pain, as I work in retail and stand at work all of the time. It also helped with the emotional pain I was going through at the time deciding what I was going to do with my marriage.
1930941 tn?1400107522 t drink anymore until I tried to quit the percocet. Now I am 27 days free from alcohol and percs. I was taking about 8-10 percs (10-325) for about a year. Before I took Vicodin for 2 years but not abuseing it. I am very happy to be clean but I am suffering terribly from joint pain in legs and headaches. I take Advil for joint pain and if the headache is bad I take Excedrin. Does anyone know when this might subside? Is excederin safe for me to take? Any help is greatly appreciate.
Avatar f tn For 13 years I have used a durogesic patch and percocet together with lower to stronger strengths at the present. Plus, through the years I have changed other medications but at the present I also use: Neurontin 300mg 3 capsules 4 times a day Flexeril 10 mg as needed (up to 3 per day) Valium 5mg q 6 hrs.
8323481 tn?1405705654 Hi everyone, as my previous posts have questioned the use of suboxone, I just wanted to be honest and state that I will not be counting clean time until I am tapered off. Happily, I have been off alcohol since June 10th. But with taking suboxone, and doing research on it, I don't feel clean.
8323481 tn?1405705654 another victory day for me with the alcohol. Still tapering with percocet until my CT day of Monday...worked all weekend at the garden centre which is a happy spot for me. It is so wonderful remembering everything I have done every day, and showing up for work. Wishing all another 24 hours...
Avatar n tn I went out and saw the sights and alcohol helped! Hang in everyone... It is a tough road, but challenge yourself and the proud feeling at the end, is far more rewarding then the quick high. It takes a strong person to quit COLD TURKEY! I am very proud of all of us.... Fluids and DEEEEEEEP Breath's.
Avatar f tn I was in AA for 12 years when I started back drinking and taking percocet. I know the signs of addiction but ignored this and continued my addiction. My question is what is the effect on the body when drinking and takiing pain pills regulary? It can't be good to use both. I trust I will get an answer and will be so apprecative for an answer.
Avatar f tn for several years i have been taking painkillers or chronic pain for moderate RA, lupus, and back problems. Right now I am on percocet, methotrexate, meloxicam, and tazanidine and although the percocet helps, i am wondering if there is a painkiller out there as strong as percocet but less addictive that i can take instead.
Avatar f tn With my other pregnancies I craved alcohol (normally hate it) but with this time I have been craving marijuana and narcotics. I'm not sure why because I haven't drugs for 15 years and I never liked them. My doctor offered to give me Percocet for leg pain. I didnt tell him why but I refused because of the feelings I've been having. Has this happened to anyone else?
8323481 tn?1405705654 t let the fear make me afraid of the freedom. Alcohol was first, and now the pills have to go. I have written a good bye letter to both. I am fully aware of what the night may bring, but I know I am not alone...
8323481 tn?1405705654 The friend that I ran into that relapsed with alcohol, was prescribed these. Just curious...are they hydros? I have heard that term on the forum. Thanks.
