Avatar m tn Soon after removing the nail tips, I started noticing my nails on my thumbs started to change colors. I went to the dermatologist and they prescribed Penlac to treat the nail fungus. After using Penlac for a while I noticed that it was not working for me. After that, I went back to the dermatologist and they did a culture and they said it was a fungus.
Avatar n tn While some fungal nail infections may respond to topical antifungal creams, lotions, and gels, most infections of the nail plate require oral medications prescribed by your doctor. On the other hand, splinter hemorrhages appear as a red to reddish-brown fine, vertical line that resembles a splinter beneath the nail, this disorder occurs when blood vessels in the nail bed are damaged or from a nail injury.

Avatar n tn In addition, please don’t use any cosmetics on the penis, instead use some topical antimicrobials like Bacitracin or Lotrimin. Also corticosteroids and topical immunosuppressants can be used but they are available under prescription. Also retract the foreskin daily and soak in warm water to clean penis and foreskin. In case the symptoms persist then please consult a urologist/dermatologist for evaluation and antimicrobials and steroids prescription. I hope it helps.
Avatar f tn by capati92, under the Blood Disorders Community and the original poster mentioned something about using 5% Minoxidil topical solution though she is a female (based on my prior medical knowledge, only 2% is recommended for women as with a higher dose,it is highly likely that they will gain unwanted facial hair and what not). And true enough, this 20 year-old girl, not much older than myself at 19-going-on-20, has that problem.
Avatar m tn Hello Dear Doctor: I do not have any opportunity to ask any such professional, I thought perhaps I could ask, please. About 10 days ago I finished receiving rabies Postexposure Prophilaxis vaccine (PEP – boosters due to being immunized before as being dog trainer) by IMOVAX for some possible post exposure situation.
4494421 tn?1355435226 I used Hydroxyzine 50 mg oral every 6 hours, Fluocinonide ointment topical, and Clobetesol solution topical. The Hydroxyzine is what really did the trick. The topicals help, but the Hydroxyzine is what worked the best. My rash and itching were not under control until I got on high dose Hydroxyzine. If you have medical questions/treatment issues like this it would be better to post in the Hepatitis C forum. This is the social side and not as many people visit here.
1840891 tn?1431547793 All the regulars here know me, but a brief intro for others: I 'm 58, have had HCV since 1984 and was dx'd with compensated cirrhosis around 2004. I'm now near the end of my third tx, a 48-week bout of triple tx with Incivek. I've been UND and had normal liver enzymes since week 8 and I'm now on week 46. Here's my new question: I've had autoimmune arthritis for decades now, but in just the last year I've also developed osteoarthritis in both thumbs.

Avatar f tn I have a fungus in my head and I've been using prescription medicated shampoo and topical solution, I just found out I'm 4 weeks prego. Should I stop using this shampoo and topical solution? I've tried all kinds of over the counter shampoos and nothing worked for me before I went to a Dermatologist. Any suggestions on something that is safe for me being prego?

314554 tn?1337454119 m guessing you know that people who have neuromas will take any shortcut to alleviate the pain,,,So I use SNAP-8 solution (topical, inhibits SNARE complex etc..) + an Ibuprofen 5% topical gel which *completly* numbs the neuroma area otherwise 1/2 way into workout the neuroma area hurts. (1) I figure this is dangerous and counterproductive in the longrun, but how much? Athletic footware measures @ 8 1/2 but hurts 1/2 way in workout.

Avatar f tn Hi, I had fungal Infection in last year October. Then I went for a check up and the doctor prescribed me itraconazole 100 mg and terbinafine 250 mg oral solution and Luliconazole cream. Infection was cured completely. But now again it has appeared on my body. Specifically on my neck. I am having the same oral solution and using Clotrimazole topical cream. But it's not effective like before. Instead of being cured it's spreading. I am also using ketoconazole soap for bathing.
