penlac

Avatar m tn Soon after removing the nail tips, I started noticing my nails on my thumbs started to change colors. I went to the dermatologist and they prescribed Penlac to treat the nail fungus. After using Penlac for a while I noticed that it was not working for me. After that, I went back to the dermatologist and they did a culture and they said it was a fungus.
Avatar n tn While some fungal nail infections may respond to topical antifungal creams, lotions, and gels, most infections of the nail plate require oral medications prescribed by your doctor. On the other hand, splinter hemorrhages appear as a red to reddish-brown fine, vertical line that resembles a splinter beneath the nail, this disorder occurs when blood vessels in the nail bed are damaged or from a nail injury.
Avatar f tn You can get an order for Penlac from your DR. It is a topical that works well.
Avatar n tn Now his doctor has him on topical accutane and another topical application. He is having severe flare ups and when he applies the accutane it burns. He's fed up with this. Any thoughts? i will call his doctor, of course, but am wondering if you have any ideas.
Avatar m tn I applied once or twice a day. It is a topical steroid. It helped. After two weeks i returned to Dr and since it was still slightly there i was given a prescription for Ketoconazole (oral). I only took 4 pills (1 a day) total and fungal infection was gone. Two days latter i tested negative for HIV using a rapid finger stick antibody test. This was three months post exposure(fingering with nick and unprotected receipt of oral). My new girlfriend also tested negative.
1840891 tn?1431547793 I would love to hear from anyone who can offer some info such as how most hepatologists feel about the use of this gel (or any other topical NSAID) in cirrhotics. I just have this lingering doubt that my hepatologist tends to be a little bit too relaxed about some things – it does seem to take quite a lot to actually alarm him. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Does anyone with FMS-fibromyalgia use a topical solution medication that really helps with pain in joints, arms and legs? My Doc prescribed Pennsaid which seems to help some, but is not consistently effective.
1515564 tn?1431383300 It occurred to me that maybe there was a way that we could try applying steroids topically. To my surprise, when I did an internet search for topical steroids and granulomatous mastitis, I found a collection of case studies that were completed in Turkey over the last 3 years. Their results were published at the end of 2014. I don't have the link to the study anymore, but I downloaded the file.
Avatar f tn I’m a 25 year old male who is currently going through topical steroid withdrawal in the groin area. I had a case of jock itch and was prescribed a steroid cream mixed with an anti-fungal. After using it on my groin area for a few days, my scrotum and testes started to become inflamed and red. I assumed that this was the jock itch spreading and the doctors that I talked to believed that was the case.
Avatar m tn Roughly two months ago I used a very potent topical corticosteroid, Clobetasol Proprionate, for around three weeks. Shortly after this I began breaking out excessively (I was on accutane earlier this year, so I was used to being clear). Ever since then I have not stopped breaking out on my face. The steroid was applied to my lower stomach area, and behind my arms. I have since researched the ointment, and it states that acne is a side effect.

Avatar n tn My skin under my forearms are losser and crinklely after being treated with topical steriods for LICHEN PLANUS. Will my skin return to its toneness eventually? BTW...I'm fit from working out and bellydancing for years and NEVER had any loss skin anywhere on my body before. This discussion is related to Skin Damage From Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream.
Avatar m tn Over a year ago I had a bad groin itch which my dumb doctor gave me a topical cortico-steroid to apply directly to my testicles. I believe it was Triamcinolone Acetonide. Literally days later I developed a severe testicular pain and sexual dysfunction that is still present a year later. Doctors have not been able to find the cause of the pain and attribute it to psychological problems. I have also developed a severe sensitivity to glucose.
Avatar m tn My Dr prescribed topical clobetasol for my scalp dermatitis for 2 weeks and it is very strong steriod. I am inactive hep B carrier and I am wondering if it will cause re activation of Hep B for me. Any response will be appreciated. Thanks.
