Avatar n tn Try Zaditor eye drops over the counter in USA.
Avatar f tn Discuss with your family MD the use of a oral anti-allergy medication on the weekends, maybe starting Thursday evening. If severe and that doesn't work see an allergist. For you eyes you can use cool or warm compresses and Zaditor the best over the counter eye drop.
Avatar m tn I have THE WORST allergies so, if it helps me it should help you. Those over the counter eye drops wont touch it. Hope this helps!
Avatar m tn I bought a bottle of Patanol eye drops about a month and three weeks ago, I found the box a couple days ago and noticed on the box that it says discard thirty days after opening... The expiry date on the bottle says 01-2011.. Is this bad that I used the eye drops three weeks after it was suppose to be discarded? I only used three quaters of the bottle. I paid a little over fifty dollars for this little 5 mL bottle.... But what can you do....
Avatar n tn The only change I have made in my life style is to take Patanol eye drops for allergy eyes. I have been using them once daily for 4 months. Could it be that this antihistamine can be causing this increase in my blood pressure? I am allergic to the drugs used for controling blood pressure and prior to this successfully lowered my pressure by exercise and diet.It is normal for me to have a reading of 130 over 80. I am 59 years old. I weigh 110 pounds. I am 5 foot 6 inches tall.
Avatar n tn Neither Maxitrol or tobradex are good choice for allergic conjunctivitis. Both often irritate the eye and have harseh preservatives in them. You would best use a good artificial tear: Systane, Blink, Refresh, Soothe and something for allergies like Patanol or Pataday. If your allergy is bad enough to require a steroid then lotemax, or pred mild would be better choices.
Avatar m tn A few months ago I was walking to my friends house and had something fly into my eye. As soon as I went to his place I took my contact lenses off and tried rubbing the foreign body out with water, but only managed to scratch my cornea in the process. Then I put my contact lenses back on not knowing what I had just done and my left eye had an infection, my eye was sensitive to light, it felt itchy, every time i blinked it hurt VERY bad.
Avatar n tn My eyes become itchy and watery. I have used patanol in the past but the eye Dr is now recommending patasol which is very expensive. I want to try Zyrtec d instead of Zyrtec which gives me some releif. Any other suggestions are appreciated.
Avatar m tn Note - I get the small bottle of preservative free, not the vials. Over the long run I believe the bottles come out cheaper. The vials come in a pack of about 30 or so and are supposed to be one time use after opening - although I have used them until the contents were empty as long as they have a cap on them.
Avatar f tn My eyes are watering and itching so bad and super sensitive to light. Is there over the counter eye drops that are safe for pregnant people to use?
Avatar n tn Thanks systane, theratears, and I bought baush and laumb ones come in preservative free. The optive the doc gave me which is over the counter has the preservatives.
Avatar m tn t not tell me to use antibiotics or anything, just the allergy drops. Could this be the reason for my chronic red eyes?
Avatar n tn i went to the doctors yesterday and after i did some research on the two drops you mentioned and i found patanol eye drops here on prescription in australia, which contains the same active ingredient as pataday drops just in a two drops twice a day method because its only 1mg not 2.22mg like pataday, i have done 2 doses of the drops and on my lord they are awesome! the redness has settled right down much quicker than in the past!
Avatar n tn that triggers it for some reason but i also noticce tha one eye is a little irritated with red right on the corner of the eye.. i took him to out family dr and was given patanol eye drops.. he only has a day taking them but the doctor really didnt gi ve me a clear anwer on weather what the problem really was... well mainly im trying to look for a second opinion.. also the doctor did metion that my son when the second child that when in that day with the blinking problem..
Avatar f tn t see any particles or evidence of a chemical burn, but the eye looked very irritated and swollen. He put ointment in the eye and gave me a presciprtion for Tobradex--one drop every two hours. My question is that today this eye looks less a little less swollen and red, but it still feels irritated, almost as though something is still in my eye. (Also, the drops sting a little when I use them.
Avatar m tn I have been using over the counter eye drops (namely, Opcon A) daily for a few years in order to combat my red eyes. With constant use, I have noticed that they do not work nearly as well anymore, and that my eyes are redder than ever. I read into the subject and have learned that with prolonged use, your eye becomes more dependent on the drops and does in fact become redder. Every morning I wake up with eyes that are extremely bloodshot red and uncomfortable.
Avatar m tn I am using patanol and vigamox. Problem is i have like a white discharge on my eye and it does not like to come out. I use a hot compress twice a day then i try to rinse my eye and flush my eye as well. Nothing it just remains in my eye. Most of the time i go to bed and it still there. When the white discharge remains in my eye for too long it gets hard and crust and sticks to my skin this hearts really bad.
Avatar n tn Thank you John, this was helpful. I'll keep observing his eyes.
Avatar n tn I did the drops and like usual the problems persisted. So after I got out of that dorm at the end of the year I hoped that the eye problems would stop; well they didn't. They continued into that summer and have continued since for 9-10 more months. I started researching the internet because my doctor's "solutions" haven't been working. I started wearing Acuvue Oasis when I got into college. I researched that and TONS of people said they had problems.
Avatar n tn Trying to figure out what's going on here. I'm 28 and I've been experiencing ghost visions in my right eye for the better part of the year now, and the glasses don't seem to help much. I'm seeing a real image, and a distorted, ghost image slightly down and to the right of it. It's especially noticeable with a silhouette, like a bird in the sky or a traffic light. Some days it's better and some days it's worse, but at least some distortion is always there.
Avatar n tn He has had it once in the past and the doctor prescribed him antibiotic eye drops, this time however he has prescribed just regular over the counter eye drops. Will his pink eye go away with just the regular drops or will he eventually need the other drops? He is also on an antibiotic for an ear infection, not sure if this is why he wasn't prescribed the antibiotic eye drops. Thank you!
Avatar n tn He used Clear Eyes. Your typical over the counter eye drops. I know he needs to go see an ophthalmologist, but he hates going. I just wanted to get an idea of what it could be so I can tell him. At the moment he's not taking it too seriously.
721949 tn?1230651677 For the past few years i have used a over the counter eye drop (allergy) to take away the redness. Which it did but in my own opinion i thnk this also may have either caused the problem i have or added to it. The doctor that said I MAY have ocular rosesca said he wasn't sure if it was that or just over use of my contacts which again i haven't worn in weks.
