I bought a bottle of Patanol eye drops about a month and three weeks ago, I found the box a couple days ago and noticed on the box that it says discard thirty days after opening... The expiry date on the bottle says 01-2011.. Is this bad that I used the eye drops three weeks after it was suppose to be discarded? I only used three quaters of the bottle. I paid a little over fifty dollars for this little 5 mL bottle.... But what can you do....
I get stringy mucous in my eyes.My doctor gave me patanol but it only worked for 6 days.It has only .01 strenght.Would a stronger strenght relieve my eye symptoms?
The only change I have made in my life style is to take Patanol eye drops for allergy eyes. I have been using them once daily for 4 months. Could it be that this antihistamine can be causing this increase in my blood pressure? I am allergic to the drugs used for controling blood pressure and prior to this successfully lowered my pressure by exercise and diet.It is normal for me to have a reading of 130 over 80. I am 59 years old. I weigh 110 pounds. I am 5 foot 6 inches tall.
My doctor told me to use Patanol and Xiloial together. But she said İ should use one of them first, then apply the other. Cuz one of them is gel or whatever. But now i cant remember which one she said that İ should use first. Can you please help me?

Last night, after reading so much information here, I happened to remember I had a bottle of Patanol in the medicine cabinet and I used it. I may be guilty of wishful thinking but it seemed like my eye felt dramatically better.
I used the Patanol again this morning and so far so good.

My eyes become itchy and watery. I have used patanol in the past but the eye Dr is now recommending patasol which is very expensive. I want to try Zyrtec d instead of Zyrtec which gives me some releif. Any other suggestions are appreciated.
Systane, Blink, Refresh, Soothe and something for allergies like Patanol or Pataday. If your allergy is bad enough to require a steroid then lotemax, or pred mild would be better choices.
When he was checking me, he diagnosed me with Giant Papillary Conjunctivitis and put me on patanol eye drops - he said I was allergic to the contacts I was wearing and said that the pain I felt on my left eye was because I had a foreign body in that eye and my left eye is more sensitive than before. I explained to him that my right eye was fine and he told me that my right eye actually hurts just the same but it's overshadowed by the pain in my left eye.
An Alcon representative called me on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, concerning my surgery and the implant of the Restor lens. When I told her of the terrible effects of the implant, my blurred vision and the black flickering line I now see she actually suggested I go to the drugstore and buy reading glasses!
I just spent $4650.00 to improve my vision and the Alcon representative told me to go the drugstore and buy reading glasses!
Hagen - thank you - I will see someone else - should they be experienced with Alcon and how they fit in the eye? Is it possible that the vessel rupture is the result of whatever is causing so much ongoing discomfort? Is there anything you can think of that could cause this? It is not just when focusing -it always stings/burns in the upper right area of my eye and almost always feels like something is in my bottom lid .

I went to my Eye MD. Today and e said that the Alcon Acrysof IQ Toric Iol for Astigmatism would be a good choice for me sence I have 1.25 Astigmatism in my right eye. I had the Crystalens HD 500 put in my left eye two years agao but I have 1.25 Astigmatism in my left eye also and I need eather LRI or Laisk done and I would need glasses any way to read so why spened the money if it don't work.
My eyes constantly have redness in them, mostly the outsides & the left one is more red than the right. How do I get rid of the redness in my eyes (without powerful medication). I'm already using an anti-allergy drop (Zaditor) which doesn't help THAT much. I've used Patanol before too. How can I get rid of the redness?
Tobramycin, Patanol, and Amox-clav. Every time he uses them his eyes sting and have been of very little help for him.
Also, after the first few days, he went raking out in his backyard for a couple hours. Could that have caused damage or an irritant to get in his eyes? What do you suggest he do?
He has been on an oral antihistimine (claritin) for many years and uses Patanol and theratears. He was told he could no longer wear contact lenses (that's fine) and hasn't since his diagnoses. There is little change to his GPC even after using a prescription eye drop with steroids and antibiotic. His opthamologist never asked if he used any face cleanser. He uses a 10% Benzoyl Peroxide wash, in addition to Clearasil pads.
Here in Chicago, Alcon seems to have captured most of the market for IOLs, and all of Alcon's lenses are acrylic. (Maybe Alcon does better marketing in this area, who knows?) I have AcrySof IQs because my surgeon used a surgery center that only stocked Alcon lenses. Personally, I don't think that the AcrySof IQ is better than the Tecnis or SofPort.
I have one lens replaced with the Alcon sn60wf & now several years later it is time for the other eye.With the alcon eye - I have some difficulty discerning shapes only in a dimly light room but night driving is good. In a room with small amts of light coming in the window - the Alcon eye can barley see- but the natural cataract eye discern shapes easily.

I found an article by William Trattler called Glistenings visually relevant. Of which I cannot find the website now. But in it "The AcrySof Lens material (Alcon) is particularly susceptible to glistenings. Incidence rates have published ranging between 11% to 60%. Waite and colleagues not glistenings might impact high spatial resolution contrast sensitivity.
The rates seem low to me.
He said my right eye has so little astigmatism that it would not benefit from an Alcon ACRYSOF® Toric lens and that a "standard" IOL (covered by Medicare) would suffice. (When I decide to have my left eye done, I should get the Toric to correct its more severe astigmatism.)
I see aspheric monofocal IOLs recommended here by Dr. Hagan and others.
My right eye implanted lens is Alcon Acry Sof IQ, it gives me image size bigger and closer than my non-surgical left eye no matter I wear -2.0 for distance or nothing for reading vision. (My good left eye wear -6.5 contact lens). 7 weeks later after surgery, my 2 eyes are still fighting.
1. Does Alcon Acry Sof IQ's brand cause more image size difference problem than other brand?
2. Since if I only use right eye, I feel dizzy and right eye don't want to focus long time.
