Avatar n tn I get hayfever as soon as the humid weather starts. My eyes burn and get dry.I get stringy mucous in my eyes.My doctor gave me patanol but it only worked for 6 days.It has only .01 strenght.Would a stronger strenght relieve my eye symptoms?
Avatar m tn I believed it was pink eye and when i went to the doctor they prescribed Pataday as well as some other drops i would apply 4 times a day. My eyes got better and i did not wear my contacts at all. They said to only put your contacts in after 2 days of my eyes bein completely white . Weeks passed and i did that. Then i noticed my eyes started getting red again. Not itchy or hurting just red. So about 3 weeks later i got checked out again.
Avatar m tn Hi. I was wondering if i could use Pataday if i have ocular herpes? Are there any risks that i should be aware of when using Pataday?
Avatar f tn I was scared and revisited the doctor. The doctor prescribed me Pataday. On using Pataday for a day, I was afraid if it could resolve the issue. I took a second opinion from a diff. Doctor. The doctor prescribed me Lotopred, Ikul, Systane ultra eye drops for every four hours a week and said not to wear lenses for 10 days. I followed the instructions and my eyes got back to normal.
Avatar n tn I went to an opthamologist and and eye surgeon and no one has a cure. The glands in the inner corner of my eyes right below my brows have a little tiny round hard objects too. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks you in advance.
Avatar m tn I suffer from the exact same thing with the inside corner of my eye driving me crazy at times it itches so bad. What has helped me is Rx eye drops called Pataday. It is for itchy allergy eyes, and sometimes I put a drop or two on the end of a q-tip and dab it in that corner of my eye and sometimes I put the drop directly into the eye. Works wonders. Whether it is allergy or irritation of some sort, the drops take the itch away for me. I hope this works for you.
Avatar f tn I went to my opthamologist. The doctor prescribed Tobramycin and Pataday. Using both eye drops the condition got better with just a bit in the right eye. My opthamologist took me off the antibiotic and told me to do the Pataday (allergy drops). Which I have. Yet, my right eye is tearing excessively and my right eye is tearing a little bit. The inner tear duct is very itchy and sting at times.I already got another opionion and was told that it's allergies.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had leaky eyes after rezoom implants. I had the implants for a few years. Now I can not clear up leaky eyes. Tried everything. I've been on Pataday and nothing helps.
Avatar n tn Neither Maxitrol or tobradex are good choice for allergic conjunctivitis. Both often irritate the eye and have harseh preservatives in them. You would best use a good artificial tear: Systane, Blink, Refresh, Soothe and something for allergies like Patanol or Pataday. If your allergy is bad enough to require a steroid then lotemax, or pred mild would be better choices.
Avatar f tn Hi - for quite a few years I suffered with allergic rhinitis, eyes would water , constant sneezing, itchy roof of mouth etc etc. various things sparked it - dust, car exhaust fumes, car air freshners, cut grass and for some reason private collection perfume. I was given neoclarityn , beconase and eye drops. This brought it under control and for the last few years I haven't had that.
Avatar n tn Neither is specific for dry eyes. pataday is a once/day allergy eye drop and Xibrom is a non-steroidal antiinflammatory. If your problems are truely dry eyes you would do better with frequent artifical tears, a lubricating gel at bedtime, oral fish oil (2-4 enteric coated/day) and if moderate or severe then a 6 month trial of Restasis.
Avatar f tn I had temporary (week long) eye plugs put in my eyes due to dry eyes along with Pataday once a day eye drop for eye allergies. My eyes plugs were put in on Wednesday afternoon. How long does it take for the plugs to work, I mean my eyes aren't burning like before, but they're still somewhat red. I don't know if it's cleared a little, but I don't see a big difference. How long before my eye plugs clear up my dry eyes.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with GPC and recently ended the use of steroid drops. Ever since I've stoped the steroid drops, I've woken up with crusty, glued eyes. Could the lingering GPC be causing this? I've been doing artificial tears multiples times a day and Pataday drops 2x a day. I have a follow up appointment soon, I'm thinking about trying to move it up if this is something serious.

Avatar f tn I recently switched to progressive lens. I developed itchy, weepy eyes. I returned to my optician, she diagnosed seasonal allergies. I have NEVER had seasonal allergies before and I am 45. She prescribed Pataday. The drops have helped, but I still have symptoms, especially when I work on my computer. I returned to my optician for lens adjustments twice. I am still having a lot of difficulty. My optician says it has nothing to do with my new glasses, but it seems too coincidental. Help!
Avatar n tn Being fair-skinned with blue eyes, I've always had an issue with redness, but have been able to control it with Bausch & Lomb Opcon eye drops. However, a couple of years ago it got to the point where that wasn't working any more, so I went to an ophthalmologist in Orlando who examined me and said there was nothing wrong.
Avatar n tn I went to my eye doc and vision was 20/25 in both eyes with glasses of course and that is even with my wet, now dry AMD. GOOD I thought He said my eyes were very dry and it looked like the redness, itchy, fuzzy vision, and dryness was from allergies. He gave me 2 different drops and said we could try these to see if it helped or if the symptoms returned after I stopped using them, there were Pataday and Xibrom. Like most I didn't ask the questions I should have.
Avatar n tn I have GPC and do not wear contacts. I’ve been on prednisone eye drops for the past week with no relief. Was on Pataday for a month before that with no relief. What can I do?
Avatar f tn The bridge of my nose, inner corners of my eyes and below my eyes along the side of my nose itch 24 hours a day. The itching is extremely intense. This began four years ago. Allergy eye drops plus steroid drops have helped a bit, but my ophthalmologist wants me to end the steroid drops so I have already started cutting back to only one drop a day, rather than two. The itching is already become unbearable.
Avatar n tn Will this get rid of the redness. I really want my white eyes back--well except for the prominent vessel that I am told I'm stuck with.
Avatar f tn I am a contact lens wearer, and I continually getting eye infections, for about the past 2 years. (I've been wearing contacts for about 5 years.) My eyes get very red and become painful, and occasionally swell. I become very light-sensitive and my pupils constrict to the point where I can barely keep my eyes open. I have removed my lenses to see a mucus-like build up on several occasions. My doctor has prescribed me TobraDex in the past, which sometimes helps after a few days.
Avatar f tn I tried a short course of steriod drops which relieved my symptoms, but they returned as soon as I stopped. Restasis for three months has offered no improvement. Pataday and Acular provide no benefit either. I am at a loss as to what to do next. I would greatly appreciate any direction or ideas.
Avatar m tn Also, I mentioned the names of specific dr doing these procedures and I realize that may violate this forum policies. I apologize for this and flagged my own post, so please don't consider this a duplicate. I have chronic vessels in my eyes that have been attributed to aging, dry eye, allergies, etc after seeing MULTIPLE ophthalmologists. I have tried many treatment options including Restasis, tears, warm compresses, bepreve, pataday, steroids, but the vessels remain.
Avatar n tn I went to my eye doctor and he INSISTED that it was just because my eyes were dry. I have very large eyes and live in a dry climate, so I suppose that might be a factor... So I bought Systane eyedrops yesterday and have been using them since. The redness seems slightly better, but it's still there. I recently switched from Proclear Torics to colored toric lenses. There is no pain, light sensitivity, discomfort, or anything - they're just RED!!! I HATE it.
Avatar f tn The doctor has me taking antihistimine drops ( Pataday) in my eyes, Omnaris Nasal Spray and , Zyrtec by mouth. No relief in a week and a half so far. My upper eyelids are now red and irratated all the time. I was thinking Oculo plastic Surgeon or Dermatologists as my only remaining options, I have been to all others including allergy doctor and ENT .
