Avatar f tn The doctor prescribed me Lotopred, Ikul, Systane ultra eye drops for every four hours a week and said not to wear lenses for 10 days. I followed the instructions and my eyes got back to normal. However, now I face some redness in my left eye upon waking up in the morning (mild red veins can be seen) After wearing contacts,my left eye looks slightly pink. Could anybody please help me with a solution to fix this.
Avatar f tn How long before my eye plugs clear up my dry eyes. And when my eyes clear up, which contact lenses are the better brands for dry eyes. Any dry/allergie help would be great.................. And can I use over the counter dry eye drops while I have the plugs in.
Avatar n tn I'm 17 yrs. old and every time I wear contact lenses my eyes become red and bloodshot. My left eye is a lot worse than my right one! I went to my eye doctor and he INSISTED that it was just because my eyes were dry. I have very large eyes and live in a dry climate, so I suppose that might be a factor... So I bought Systane eyedrops yesterday and have been using them since. The redness seems slightly better, but it's still there.
Avatar f tn I am a contact lens wearer, and I continually getting eye infections, for about the past 2 years. (I've been wearing contacts for about 5 years.) My eyes get very red and become painful, and occasionally swell. I become very light-sensitive and my pupils constrict to the point where I can barely keep my eyes open. I have removed my lenses to see a mucus-like build up on several occasions. My doctor has prescribed me TobraDex in the past, which sometimes helps after a few days.

Avatar f tn Hi, I was diagnosed with 'Ocular Rosacea' and 'Dry Eye Syndrome'. I have used Restasis and have tried allergy drops. My eyes are always red and feel as if I have something in them (which is the bumps under my eyelids). Does anyone know what I can do about this. I've been to so many eye Dr's. and I cannot get them cleared up. I used to wear contact lenses and now I can no longer wear them. It has been almost 5 years since I was able to wear my contacts.
Avatar f tn I have worn contacts for many years, but recently they stopped making the style I have worn for most of those years. Since then I have had a lot of trouble. I will get a new pair/brand and they Wil be ok for a few weeks them they are blurry and uncomfortable. When I get checked the Dr always says they aren't fitting right and moving too much. Recently he noted giant capillary conjunctivitis, and gave me pataday drops.
Avatar f tn It's more likely to be related to allergies or dry eyes and less likely to be due to the lenses. Go back to your old glasses and see if you still have the symptoms. That should prove to you it's not from the lenses.
Avatar f tn My eyes experience a mild redness (especially in the inside corners of eyes), burning, uncomfortable irritation with increased light sensitivity for the past three months that occurred initially during a trial of Xalatan (I was not wearing contact lenses at the time). I've been to three opthalmologists (one is a repected corneal/external disease specialist at university).
Avatar m tn But this time when i saw the doctor he said i had some conjunctivitis in the eyelids and that i would just continue on Pataday and some more drops for at least a month. I did tht and when i came in for my checkup the doctor said my eyes only looked dry. He perscribed more Pataday and some eye drops and told me in about a week i could resume with contacts that were dailys . A week after has passed and my eyes are getting red.
Avatar m tn if someone wore your contact lenses whom had HIV and then after 1 week you wear the same contact lenses can you catch HIV
Avatar m tn What are the difference between ordinary lenses and hybrid contact lenses?
Avatar f tn If contact lenses were posted from a hot country would this affect the contact lenses. The temperature affected the seal on a box of solutions. Would it affect or damage the lenses?
Avatar f tn Thank you Dr for the reply.... And if eye drops are used... Can contact lenses be worn?
Avatar m tn eye dryness, solution incompatibility and toxicity, allergy, old lenses with protein buildup, etc. The exact problem will be determined by your doctor with a complete evaluation.
Avatar m tn Hi all, I have a question about my contact lenses. I'll try to be as thorough as possible. I've been wearing monthly soft contact lenses for 7 years to correct myopia (-4.25 left, -3.75 right, slight astigmatism in the left eye). I'm 26 and male. Occasionally I neglected proper care by not washing my hands or wearing them beyond a month but that was the exception. Ordinarily I didn't wear them beyond the prescribed periods, nor did I sleep with them in.
Avatar f tn I don't know if this is sort of the same, but anyhow,,I only wear my right contact lense now because with them both in, I can't read.....at first my doc was making the left one weaker so that I can read with my lenses in (I don't need reading glasses only need lenses for distance) and then I told her I just put one lense in and its so much better - I can see distance - and can read whenever I want real easy if I only wear one lense......she said its fine to do that.
974413 tn?1248029417 I try to only wear my contact lenses as little as possible, maybe 6-8 hours a day or if I know I'm not going out at all, I'll skip wearing my contact lenses for the day and I make sure they get cleaned daily regardless of wearing them or not. Recently I gave my eyes a "break" for a couple of days, after the second day, I wore my contact lenses as usual and by the end of the day my eyes were red and watery almost as if they were infected.
Avatar m tn If you are wearing rigid contact lenses, then yes, you can thoroughly clean and soak the lens and wear it. Instead of falling back on old contact lenses it would be better if you had a working pair of glasses for those times when your current contacts are "being serviced" (by which I assume you mean, being polished).
Avatar f tn Even though there might have been blood on the door knob and touched it and then put on my contact lenses, there is still no chance of infection if my friend would be infected. Again thank you.
Avatar n tn hi. i wear dailies contact lenses only on special occasions. today i tried them on and i realized that i couldn't see very well far away, like reading signs because it was blurry. i made sure that i took proper steps and handled them with care but my vision was still blurry far away. i took them off and tried on my glasses and could see perfectly normal again. why would i see better with glasses then contacts. i have focus dailies with aquacomfort plus.
Avatar n tn I recently went to the eye doctor and my prescription continues to get worse. Will it ever stop getting worse and stabilize? I wear contact lenses for astigmatism. Are there any brand of lenses which are better better for crisper vision and to possibly help to stabilize my prescription?
1614413 tn?1298486475 Just recently learned I need corrective lenses. I am very interested in wearing contact lenses, however the Rx the doc gave me made my vision worse than not wearing corrective lenses at all. Wearing my new glasses improves my eyesight, but I would much prefer the contacts. I had no issues whatsoever putting contacts in, taking them out, nor did they bother me in the least, when they were in (other than blurry vision). Is there anything I can do so that I can wear contacts? Different Brand? GP?
Avatar m tn So if your eyes are healthy (except for the nearsightedness and floaters) you can wear contact lenses despite your floaters. The doctor who saw you probably mentioned that you should come back immediately if you see a sudden, new batch of floaters that look like a shower of black dots, a 'swarm of bees' or a black 'curtain' in any part of your vision - or if you see any other sudden change in your vision.
Avatar f tn He said it is possible that I am developing intolerance to contact lenses. I have had GPC twice in the past (though not anytime recently). Is it possible that I may be destined to stop wearing contact lenses for good? Can some people immune systems simply continue to react to any/all lenses?
Avatar f tn Contacts are very safe i would recommend getting them from a eye doctor to make sure your getting everthing coorect
