You will need to take a combination of medications (under medical supervision) like a proton pump inhibitor (like Nexium you are taking) such as omeprazole, lansoprazole or pantoprazole empty stomach in the morning and an antacid gel after meals for complete relief. Possibility of H pylori infection too should be looked into by a carbon urea breath test and a combination antibiotic tried. Many a times a persisting H pylori infection can be the cause behind acidity not responding to treatment.
I have been to my GI doctor for a Endoscopy and he said, I had GERDS and Barretts Esophagus and put me on Nexium 40mg twice a day. Then I had a Colonoscopy and he said, I had Diverticulitis, which was something I never had before. He never told me how I got it or what to do about it or even if that was what was causing the morning pain. Does anyone one else have this condition and have the morning stomach pain ? And what can I do for it ?
ve been on most of the meds for gerd, from Zantac to Nexium to Lansoprazole to Pantoprazole. In December I started to develope numbness in my left foot and right hand. (Last night I noticed my left anke was swollen.) I had other tests with showed no nerve problems and no diabetes. It was only recently that I realized that these could be side effects from the 'prozole meds I've been taking. I just stopped taking everything but the Zantac.
I do have a medium size hiatal hernia along with barrett's esophagus and GERDS. Besides the nexium 40mg twice a day I also take Maalox, but I don't have any indigestion at all. I don't drink coffee, tea or soda. I may have a few beers with friends once a month. I have been staying away from spicy, fried and oily foods, but it dosen't seem to help with the pain. I don't eat anything for at least 4 hours before bedtime.

Last night i had a bad pain experience, it started on the left side of my stomach went up through my esophogas, into my neck and my jaw and all over my head. the pain is like nothing i have felt before, it almost felt like the pain was aiming for all my pressure points. I'm a 38 year old white male, i have GERD which i take nexium for, id like to think it wasnt a heart attack but everything i read points to those symptoms.

Got on pantoprazole for the reflux, it’s been working great but in the last week I’ve had this pins and needles sensation in my legs feel nauseous and I can’t seem to shake that somethings wrong with me. I’m in constant fear. I don’t know if the pantoprazole is giving me the tingling feeling because I’m not on anything else?
I went and he took a look down into my throat and said it was very irritated. I too felt like my tongue and throat was on fire and felt like I was breathing menthol. I told the nurse at my primary doctors about breathing menthol and all she did was laugh at me. I am betting you need the Omeprazole dosage upped. I was taking 40 mg. a day and they upped it to 40 mg. 2x a day.
37 year old fit male, 150 pounds. Over the past week and a half, I've become pretty dizzy out of nowhere. Haven't been on any new meds lately. It is like my head makes me dizzy when I move it around. I fee like a bobblehead. It feels like a weight on my head and like it is throwing the rest of my body off or something. I also get this odd stiff feeling on the back of my head/neck, and also below each ear in the middle of the neck. It is like a "tightness" feeling or something.

Then I started having stomach pains and I was put on the antacid pantoprazole and a stool softener for constipation. After about a month and a half I was feeling so good I stopped taking the pantoprazole after consulting with my doctor. A week later I was having bad GERD and went back on it. I still don't know what initially caused the bloating, why it ramped up to GERD so quickly off the medication, and how damaged my LES is now.
And it was only once then. It just happened so suddenly, I was breathing find and then I lie down and immediately begin experiencing problems. I also have terriible posture and spend 5+ hours a day using the computer, sitting not up straight in a chair, not sure if that has anything to do with it either.
Is anyone else suffering the same symptoms as me? What do you do about it? Im very concerned as Im in a lot of pain,it keeps flaring up too. I have pain soon after I eat in a morning. It starts like a pulling in my oesophaghus. It feels like something is stuck there. It hurts a lot and I can't swallow without it hurting. It feels like a pressure there and it also feels inflamed and bloats all the way up from my stomach.

Im hoping to talk to a doctor about nexium. Im here on behalf of my girlfriend who recently started to take nexium for her stomach pains. She has been very hot at random times and has been nauseas at night. Her period was suppose to start yesterday but it has not yet and we are not sure as to why it has not. She had one episode of cramps this morning but it was very short and ended soon after.
Hi, my mom was taking teva-rabeprazole 20mg and now she is out of them can she take pantoprazole 40mg now?
